Daboll is the Failed Haley
Per Mike Silver via PFT: Daboll Screaming at Colt McCoy
Wow. This sure seems like a fantastic hire.
"There were times I had to pull my helmet off to call a play in the huddle," McCoy told Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports. "Guys could hear him yelling, and they’d say, ‘Just take it off.’ People said to me, ‘Man, I ain’t never seen anything like that. Just hang in there.’"
Worse record as an OC, career mediocrity, and he berates his players as much, if not more than, Haley did.
The abuse McCoy took from Daboll and the Browns coaching staff apparently became a running joke among Browns players. But McCoy said he took the constant yelling personally.
Bravo, Pioli.
This is pathetic. It's the convergence of the Patriots/Parcells/Browns tree in an incest laden time flux.
The Chiefs, from ownership through front office, are truly saddening as a fan. The management of the team has been disgraceful, even more so, since we have so many good pieces in place...only one of them from this regime is proven through 3 drafts (Berry), and two other key pieces (Carr, Bowe) may not be re-signed.
Then we get a Daboll OC hire leak near midnight on a Friday night of Super Bowl weekend. Fantastic. Good to see the new PR hire working his magic and making things better with the soft release.
Yes, I'm pissy about this. Leave me alone. :P

Offseason Awesome Unicorn Fest!
Well, hello. I've missed you, but in a not-so-needy-way.
Really, are the peeps that only get in the way during the season gone now? Yes? Fucking awesome.
So, my fellow sane AP members, would you like to imbibe everything that makes us not only fans, but also friends?
Should this next sentence be a question too? I totally just screwed that up. Do know that I blame you. I actually blame you twice, because that is what makes guilt into hate...and deflecting it covers my deficiencies as a man, and I'm sticking with that approach. Kisses!!!!
Alright, getting to the point:
1) I promised Unicorns, so thee are healed and can die happy:
2) And the actual point to this, if you are a Chiefs fan, and you like to joke around, and you aren't a unicorn (because you wouldn't be able to type on a keyboard anyway)...post your twitter handle in the comments. I will follow you, Mr. or Miss Dreamy McDreamerson.
I think it would be cool to have a semi-directory of awesome AP Chiefs fans on twitter that everyone can follow or unfollow at their discretion. Therefore, it must happen.
Also, rec this post for posterity so we all can mingle and share our late night embarrassments with each other. Seriously, from personal experience on AP, they are the best moments.
WARNING: If you follow me, be prepared to unfollow me.
In summation, post your twitter for much offseason fun and shame. I present my final argument, get on this foolz. I'M BACK! And I'm not afraid to point a loaded gun at my own junk. THAT'S HOW I ROLL!!!

Raiders began "trying hard" as of Sunday night to trade for Carson Palmer
via Rotoworld via Yahoo! Sports
Yeah, this would not be good. H/T to Danny Parkins on Twitter.
Bye Week Saturday...3rd Shift Losers Thread for Winners...
Ok, I can't sleep and am watching CNBC World right now...seriously. We could all debate how awesome and pitiful I am at the moment, or we could also argue how awesome or pitiful the Chiefs are. Or we could debate The Simpsons vs Family Guy...or to take it even further, Simpsons vs Family Guy vs American Dad vs Aqua Teen Hunger Force vs Aqua Patrol Squad 1...or whatever Cartoon Network renamed it.
I have honestly confused myself at this point..I blame CNBC World and Bob Gretz.
You have got to be kidding.
This is on the front page? Seriously? A large entry schilling for a Bacardi contest requiring a Facebook account now constitutes front page article space?
Please have them purchase one of the many banner ads that slow the page load time that already overrun the site (including a large background file that can't even be seen) next time.

Any billionaires reading this blog right now, please, please, please buy the team.
From Arrowhead Addict, and I agree completely.
"Mayhew shook his head and turned his back on Pioli"
Wow. I guess Haley isn't the only Chiefs' leader who others do not want to deal with. Pioli got "Haley'd"
Mayock on Chiefs' draft so far on NFLN -paraphrased-: "I love what the Chiefs are doing in this draft so far. McCluster and Arenas are two of the guys closest to my heart in this draft."
This was after the pick of Asamoah in the 3rd Round. I have my reservations, but Mayock's endearment to our second round picks alleviates some of my worries.
Flagging every mock draft from now on.
The most egregious offenders are repeatedly posting slight modifications as a new FanPost...it is spam. This has been occurring since October, which is ridiculous.
Your take on a mock draft is equivalent to a comment, i.e. your opinion on the same subject as another FanPost. Your take on a mock draft should be a comment, not another mock FanPost.
If you want to blow your "mock-wad" every week, please post on SB Nation's dedicated site to mock drafts, and aptly named, Mocking the Draft here. Please, spare us your constantly fluctuating, and indecisive, mock jizz/FanPosts.
Personally, I have had it with individual users posting 5,000,000 variations of their own mock before the season even ended.
I am flagging every mock from here on as spam.
UPDATE: To be clear, I am not against mock drafts. I love the draft, as many of us do. It's football Christmas.
If you have created a mock and have a new version, just simply update your original FanPost and make a comment in it that it has been updated. It will be bumped to the top of the FanPosts page (the tab at the top of the homepage that reads, "FanPosts.")
You may even want to append your title with something like "Update 1," "Update 2" and so on.
The point is that an update or new version doesn't necessitate a new FanPost.
Also, if a mock FanPost is already active, simply post your version in the comments. Then people can discuss your particular take on the topic using the nested reply feature.
Someone already created one mock thread for everyone to post their own mocks in. Rather than using it, people continue to repetitively create new FanPosts for their own mocks.
A mock is a topic just like any other. Creating a new thread for a topic that already has many, many threads is spam. It is no different than if people posted "My Take on Why Brodie is Better" FanPosts multiple times per day rather than participating in the thread already created for it.
Many of us tried to address this nicely months ago when the behavior started and we were ignored. It has become out of control.

This is the original new AP logo request I made this past offseason using oldchiefsfan's greatest work. Adaptation into logo by ChiefsinChina.
No logo for AP is more badass than this, and it incorporates the Chiefs "Wolf Pack" history.
Make it so, Thormans. :)
Meast of the Week - Bernard Pollard
"Your Meast of the final week of the regular season is the crusher of souls and all living matter, Bernard Pollard. And not just because he played a small role in the injury of another beloved (to their fanbase, at least) member of the Patriots. Noooo. Perish the thought. The guy also had a fumble recovery for a touchdown and an interception. Those are perfectly Measty contributions to a winning effort. And have nothing at all to do with the infliction of harm on another player. The recognition of clean, stellar play is what the Meast award is all about."

LeSean McCoy v Lawrence Tynes SNF Open Thread
I have no real interest in this game other than it should be a good game, and I need LeSean McCoy and Lawrence Tynes to have huge games for one of my 13 of 15 Fantasy teams in the playoffs that I personally care for to win.
So, MAKE ME PROUD, YOU LITTLE SOUL CRUSHERS.
Also, can someone please accost the GAP advertising agency? If they play that idiotic "Plaid Cheer" commercial repeatedly this game, I will spurn my race. Just embarrassing.
He was a distraction that an 0-and-whatever team did not need. So why does a first-place team need it?
GM Kokinis escorted out of building in Cleveland
Latest News and Rumors | ProFootballTalk.com
Wow. A new GM fired before a new coach on the same team?
This is so true...now truer. "Fun times in Cleveland AGAIN! Still Cleveland!" (Best video ever)
KSK names Matt Cassel their Least of the Week:
"As for your Least, again, no shortage of candidates. Delhomme. Jeff Reed. Delhomme. Dan Snyder. Delhomme. Frankly, Delhomme is an honorary co-least every week. He’s like the RSTLNE they give you in the Wheel of Fortune bonus round. He’s a throw-in. We’re going with Matt Cassel. Ninety yards against a pretty lousy Chargers defense. Can we say he blows now? He does! HE BLOWS!"
Kissing Suzy Kolber - Language NSFW
He did have a bad game, but I am still behind Cassel.

Alleged Girlfriend of Larry Johnson Reinforces LJ's Slurs & More
Meet LJ's alleged girlfriend, "Havana Stylez". On Twitter at HavanaStylez: http://twitter.com/HavanaStylez
As the meltdown occurred on Sunday evening, she was retweeting and reinforcing the slurs of Larry Johnson (while adding many more of her own). I have no confirmation that she is, in fact, LJ's girlfriend. This may be absolutely nothing, and I am not claiming that she is in a relationship with Larry Johnson. For all I know, she could merely be an obsessed fan. "Havana Stylez," aka Melly, also lists her Twitter bio as: "I'M ONLY FOR HIM!! THAT IS THE ICON"
However, she has a recent photo of them together, her Twitter page displays both of them, she immediately retweets LJ's offensive tweets on Sunday, she claims to be LJ's girlfriend, she echoes the same themes as LJ did, she goes into damage control, she claims to be able to relay messages to LJ, and she then relays a supposed message, in quotes, from LJ to a Twitter user. [Updated Twitter claim of a relationship at the end of the post]
Screenshots documenting follow (not all in chronological order).
WARNING: The following tweets by the self-proclaimed girlfriend of Larry Johnson contain hateful slurs.

This is it. The new Sherm will pass play calls slowly to the old Sherm who will then slowly pass the call to the slow Jason Campbell.
Over/Under on delay of games = 94. Seriously.

How to Make The Worst Decision in Fantasy History
- Feel free to use this post for any and all Fantasy Football discussion about today
So, in one of my fifteen fantasy leagues, I had a lineup decision to make this morning. Below is how I completed the largest FAILITUDE in fantasy football history:
Me: Hmmm. Donovan McNabb is on my bench but he is playing the Raiders. He is going to put up massive points.
Common Sense: Dude, you already have Tom Brady starting.
Me: Oh, I know, but the Patriots offense has not been great this year and McNabb is playing the freaking Raiders.
Common Sense: True, but "The Brady" is playing the Titans whose entire secondary is injured…and they are 0-5.
Me: Hey, I just saw the forecast for the game. It is supposed to be heavy rain and windy.
Common Sense: It is Tom Brady.
Me: WAIT! The forecast is now for a heavy, slushy, snowy mix with wind. I’m going with McNabb against the Raiders.
Common Sense: Dude, are you serious? TOM BRADY.
Me: I’m definitely going McNabb today.
Common Sense: DUDE??!!
….20 seconds later
Me: You know, if it is going to be a slushy & windy mess that means the Pats will probably just throw a bunch of little screens when they do pass. Wes Welker won’t be able to juke and cut in that.
Common Sense: No...just stop now.
Me: I really should bench Welker too, besides I can put NYG Steve Smith in his place. He is going to score a ton against the Saints in a shootout.
Me: I’m so awesome. You're seeing this great decision making right?
Common Sense: /snarf
Common Sense: /giggle Huh? Oh yeah, I am seeing it.

This realization made my head explode today.
We have no back-up LT/RT. When Smith came in to replace Albert, it hit me...we don't even have a shitty back-up LT or RT, we have a crappy Guard/Center as the back-up LT.
How is this even remotely competent personnel management? I am not blasting Pioli/Haley, but holy crap!
Our OL was horrible even before the start of the 2008 season and has become even worse. How in the hell do we not even have a true, crappy back-up tackle?
Even if Ndukwe was active today, that is only 1 back-up, and he isn't even a true Tackle either.
I just mean...I can't....AAAARRRRRRGGGGH!
If you would like to see the horror in print, just view the Chiefs official roster.
The Chiefs Defense Is Not Improving
From the FanPosts -Joel
This isn't a "sky is falling" post. It is just highlighting that Clancy Pendergast's defense has been horrendous, and we shouldn't allow perception to obfuscate the numbers nor allow Pendergast to hide behind the dismal offense.
The Chiefs defense is worse than last year, or equally as bad at best.
Why do I say this? Let's look at the yards allowed each week:
Week 1: Ravens - 501 yards allowed
Week 2: Raiders - 166 yards allowed
Week 3: Eagles* - 420 yards allowed
Week 4: Giants - 429 yards allowed
*McNabb and Westbrook did not play
While obviously terrible individually, they amount to 1,516 yards allowed in total.
Now let's look at the rancid 2008 Chiefs' first 4 games, over whom we are supposedly improved:
Week 1: Patriots* - 338 yards allowed
Week 2: Raiders - 355 yards allowed
Week 3: Falcons - 378 yards allowed
Week 4: Broncos - 446 yards allowed
*Brady was knocked out of the game early in the 1st quarter
The historically awful 2008 Chiefs had given up 1,517 yards total. 1 entire yard worse than this year.
The natural counterarguments have been:
1. "But, the offense is leaving the defense on the field too long. They are exhausted."
2. "We've been playing against playoff teams."
3. "It's a new scheme and it takes time to adjust."
Rebuttals after the jump.

MNF Open Thread: Cowboys Stadium vs Someone
Hey. It's Monday. Time to worship at the altar of JERRUH on national TV once again.
ESPN assures me this will be a party. Don't let ESPN down.
via fortsanders.net
It's sparkly and there are Romangels everywhere!
It appears Satan is a Cowboys fan too! Awesome! I think it is the star that won him over.
Ron Edwards now listed as first-team nose tackle.
Ryan O'Callaghan moves to starting right tackle.
Anyone who happened to watch the Chiefs and Raiders game last week couldn't help noticing defensive end Glenn Dorsey's disruptive day.
Dorsey showing signs of life | ProFootballTalk.com
Nice to see that others recognize Dorsey's play. Enough with the bust talk...Dorsey had a solid rookie campaign and is positioning himself for a very solid 2nd year.
Michael Irvin drunk on NFLN.
Did anyone else see Michael Irvin live on NFLN from Dallas just now? He did 2 different live segments, and he was slurring his speech and having difficulty opening his eyes while wobbling. Just embarrassing.
Gunther - New team, his scheme, absolutely no gleam.
As bad as our defensive statistics were against Baltimore, our defense outperformed Gunther's new squad. Gun's autonomous rebirth has yielded similar results to his last few years in KC.
Via the stats in the link, below are what his new defense allowed:
Points 45
1st Downs 28
Total Plays 69
Total Yards 515
Passing 358
Rushing 157
3rd Down Conversions 9-13
Possession 36:30
New place, new personnel, same result. Who is he going to blame this season?

It's Raider Hater week baby!

Yes today's games was a downer would've been great to walk away with a win, but overall I think there was some positives from the game, and we had a shot to win it. Now it is time to move on, we got the Oakland Raiders coming into Arrowhead. If there is any team in the NFL I hate the most it is the Raiders. Arrowhead Stadium better be rockin' on Sunday, I can't wait to tailgate and scream my lungs out for the Chiefs.
Tell me why you hate the Raiders.
For me I can't stand Al Davis.
Arrowhead Stadium the loudest stadium in the NFL!
Observation!

Cmon lets get serious! Disgrace...
Enough of the bullshit we got absolutely smashed today. We never looked liked it. Things looked up for a moment when Thiggy came on for a 5 yard wildcat rush but at the end of the day Brodie Croyle DOES NOT Have it. Our D Line got absolutely killed today. In the shotgun we never even got close. I think we did well to get away with 38 points against. Fine you do that, score on offense. I don"t care what anyone says, Brodie Croyle is not a 30 point plus a week QB.
The real score may have been 38- 10
We have trouble big time!!!
