Indianapolis & The Super Bowl
So I have been reading The Phinsider for a couple of years now but rarely post. I love reading the blog and this is my go to website when it comes to Dolphins news.
Just to tell everyone a little about myself. I am an Indianapolis resident and student at Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis. I am a junior and currently working on a degree in Sports Management. Indianapolis has been coined as the amateur sports capital of the world and I have had some great experiences here. If I had to pick my favorite experience, I would say having a chance to sit down and chat with David Morway. He is currently the general manager of the Indianapolis Pacers. We sat in his office bellow the court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and talked about sports and business, his career, what it take to be successful, and even the Pacers & Pistons brawl that took place back in 2004! Amazing experience.
Well now to the point of this post. After I read OFF4L won the Guinness Boldest Fan Competition I felt the need to share some of the things that have been going on in the city as far as the Super Bowl. I really enjoy reading through his posts and hearing about all of his game day experiences. It makes me wish I could afford to be in Miami for some home games in Sun Life Stadium. Instead I am always stuck in my apartment watching our Dolphins on NFL Sunday Ticket haha.
Yesterday I had the chance to walk through the NFL Experience in the convention center downtown. It was incredible! I spent about three and a half hours walking around and exploring. I got the chance to take a few pictures and would have taken a lot more had I thought about making this post before. So I just wanted to share them with everyone here at The Phinsider.
I wanted to start with a picture of the JW Marriott downtown. They put a huge decal of the Lombardi Trophy on the side of the glass windows and it looks incredible. It's hard to put into perspective since it is a photo but the decal is massive!
Dolphins Drive! I really want take this at some point this week. Pull some Tom Cruise mission impossible type stuff.
Here is a picture of how packed the streets were downtown. It was pretty crazy! Tons of fans down there right now.
So being 6' 4" made it a little difficult to squeeze in behind the Dolphins manikin haha.
I know it is just a computer screen but they had a station set up where you could watch every play from every game in every angle! I had to pull up Reggie's long run against the Bills haha. I would have sat at that thing all night if they would have let me!
Wilson had a booth set up and had the official football of every Super Bowl on display so of course I snapped a picture of the ball from the 72 season!
I took this trying to scale how big this place was. They had tons of NFL Play 60 stuff going on for kids. I actually saw some guy trip while running the 40 yard dash haha.
I got a picture of myself standing by a replica of Jake Long's locker. I doubt it is that clean in real life haha.
Alright so I'm not a fan of Tebow at ALL. But it was one of those "have to" moments haha.
I even got drafted by the Dolphins!
Under my windbreaker I had my "Jets Suck Patriots Swallow" shirt. When it got pretty warm in the place I pulled my windbreaker off and got a lot of laughs from it haha. I had multiple people stop and ask if they could take a picture of shirt!
I could not believe it when I saw it. But they had a room full of vendors and one of them had a Dolphins helmet signed by the 72 Dolphins. It was only $3,000!
Lastly, since it is Indianapolis, what is this city without a Dolphins painted Indy Car?
I hope you guys enjoyed some of the pictures. If ever given the chance, I highly recommend visiting a Super Bowl city if you haven't already. I really wish I would have taken more pictures so I could show you guys but I was not really thinking about it at the time! It's great thus far and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the week. We already have class cancelled Thursday through Monday so I will be downtown soaking it all in if I'm not at work!

Brandon Marshall Stabbed!
Tweeted by Adam Schefter 7 minutes ago:
"Details still coming into ESPN, but Dolphins WR Brandon Marshal was stabbed and taken to a hospital, where he has been in intensive care."
Wow. This is not good.

Live Chat With Bill Parcells
One of my friends just sent me this link.
http://chat.nfl.com/front/index/744#alert
It's a live chat with Bill Parcells and it goes live in 10 minutes. You can ask questions and discuss Dolphins football with the man himself. This should be interesting. The questions are ran through a moderator and then posted. Then if he would like to Bill Parcells can post a response. So go post some questions!
After Sunday's Loss...
After losing the game that we needed against the bills I was extremely bummed. So bummed I didn't watch anymore games for the rest of the day. I did what any other 19 year old college student would do (well besides getting plastered) and jumped on the PS3 to play some modern warfare 2. I guess virtually killing people is a good stress reliever for me haha. But as bad as the day went on Sunday afternoon I was filled with joy on Sunday night and here is the story.
I don't know how familiar you guys are with Twitter. But basically on Twitter anyone can update a status to say what your doing or really say anything you want in a limited about of words. It's a pretty big thing now and a lot of athletes have it. One of those athletes just so happens to be our very own Sean Smith. So of course I follow him to see what he has to say and see what he is up to and in one of his previous updates on Twitter he posted his PSN online gamer tag and told people to invite him. His post actually read "Playin COD! New I.d "Puttin_N_Wrk" Get at me online!!!" COD stands for call of duty. aka modern warfare 2. So of course I sent him a friend request that night when I got home from work. Was I really expecting for him to accept it? No. But to my surprise Sunday night around 10 pm EST or so while I was playing Modern Warfare 2 with some friends. BAM its pops up in the top left hand corner of my TV that Sean Smith had added me. So I was instantly like oh my god haha. I instantly sent him an invite once I seen he was also playing MW2. Then seconds later BOOM he pops into the party with my friends and I. I was pretty excited haha. I mean i know it's just a video game but I was actually in the presence of someone I look up and someone I cheer for every Sunday. The only thing that sucked was he didn't have a mic so I actually couldn't hold a conversation with him. But we played for about a half an hour or so before he got offline. So I sent him a message on twitter that told him he just made my night on MW2. He responded with a "lol my bad I had to leave but yea thx thanks for the game...send me a request anytime."
I know it's kind of a nerdy story but I just had to tell people how might actually understand why I was so excited about it. Most other people I told just said "who cares he is a rookie." or "who is Sean Smith?" haha.
