Positive Outlook after Game 2
I honestly wasn't too upset after this game. It was disappointing seeing Wall miss all those layups and Blatche looked worse than usual, but I think the good outweighed the bad here.
Chris Singleton looked great and has cemented his status as being a part of the Wizards future. I hope by the end of the season he is starting over Lewis.
JaVale McGee was solid and considering the difficulty in finding centers, I think he'll be resigned after the season.
Ronny Turiaf continues to play great defense, make great passes, and really should be team captain.
Nick Young is playing like a capable starting 2 for a winning team.
Ideally I want to see Trevor Booker or Kevin Seraphin steal Blatche's minutes. Even if Blatche can average 16-8 a night, I'd prefer to have Booker's 8-8 with defensive intensity. Jan Vesely cannot be stealing Singleton's minutes, but he needs time to develop too. Anyways I'm not pouting about the game b/c maybe some pieces of the future can be seen molding together.
Do the Wizards have the assets to trade for D.Howard?
I'm not sure whether its even worth talking about b/c D.Howard is a free agent after next year, but I figure if the Warriors shot over an offer that its up for debate. The Wizards have a ton of young players and am excited to see them play together. A chance to get D.Howard would be huge though. Looking at our salaries it doesn't look possible unless R.Lewis was involved, but would that be allowed during next season?
Maybe I should rephrase my question to be.....
Wizards Draft Party at Verizon Center
The event is free and the gates open at 6pm. If you go to www.washingtonwizards.com there is more information, but it makes you print tickets out in order to rsvp. I would love to be on bulletsforever with the madness unfolding, but I'm thinking its going to be more fun to meet Wizards fans in person and talk about some of these draft prospects.
My friend and I will be there along with the Wizards girls and Wizards/Bullets alum. Either way I'm going to be blogging into the evening. Come on Enes Kanter!
Utah Jazz Broadcaster Scouting Report on Draft Prospects
I was searching for videos on Jan Vesely and I found a video of David Locke, Utah Jazz broadcaster, dissecting his game very well. I watched almost all of his videos (he has 10 within the past month) and he does a fantastic job. He's been the Jazz broadcaster his 09-10 season and before that spent one year announcing for the SuperSonics and 7 years for the WNBA's Seattle Storm. I'm gonna to post his videos on here next to the player's name and highly recommend subscribing b/c he's breaking down recruits every few days.

Maryland being overlooked
5. Connecticut - Need I say more?
4. Tennessee - Part of SEC/Big East Challenge
3. Texas/illinois - At Madison Square Garden
2. Syracuse - Chance to see Fab Melo at the Pete
1. Villanova - Season Finale at Home vs. Big East's Best?
Pittsburgh's blog, Cardiac Hill, has the most important games of the season. Lets hope the number 3 on the list is playing for third place at madison square garden. I'm so excited to see Maryland have a chance for an upset. They have to play better then they did against College of Charleston obviously, but what would be Maryland's top 5 games this season?
5. Villanova - Sat, Jan. 15 (away) both the Nova and Pitt games will be chances for upsets
4. Pittsburgh - Thu, Nov. 18 (neutral)
3. Virginia Tech - Thu, Jan. 20 (home) after projected losses at Duke and at Villanova...need to get back on track
2. North Carolina - Sun, Feb. 27 (away) we aren't scared of UNC!
1. Duke - Wed, Feb. 2 (home) always home game against Duke is huge and at Duke should be on the list too
Evan Turner looking average in preseason
Anybody keeping an eye out for the other rookies and how they're playing? John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Blake Griffin have all caught my eye, but any darkhorse for the rookie of year competition? Jordan Crawford had the huge game against the Wiz, Gordon Hayward, Wesley Johnson, Al-Farouq Aminu, and Paul George are putting okay stats up. Anybody watched Nikola Pekovic or Timofey Mozgov play because I haven't? Let me know what you think!!
Should John Wall be allowed the #11
The jersey number 11 is currently retired (Elvin Hayes) and John Wall will undoubtly try to wear it. So I assume Wall will offer a good amount of money to Hayes in order to wear it, but should jerseys be allowed to be taken down. This argument was on sports talk 980 the other day and I'm interested to see what other people think. One example they gave was when Karl Malone joined the Lakers for one season he had worn 32 his whole career and Magic Johnson gave permission for Malone to wear it, but Malone either didn't wear b/c of respect to Magic or b/c the Lakers didn't allow it. (I'm not actually sure)
Marko Keselj??? 2nd Round Steal
JUST heard about this guy and he isn't ranked very high on draft express, but I feel like that's from lack of information considering they don't even have his weight.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Marko-Keselj-1098/ (draft express info)
He's like a 6'10" Rudy Fernandez.....tantalizing!! This probably isn't worthy of a post, but there is nothing else happening!
Best Big Man in Second Round (Poll Opinion)
I just wanted to get an idea of what other people think about the possibilities in the second round for a center. Rook likes Art and I like Pittman, but there are other players to choose from. Varnado is a PF so he's also not on the list. The Wizards might not even go with a center in the second round. I would prefer to get Paulao Prestes, Terrico White, Quincy Pondexter, or Devin Ebanks...any 2 of those guys with the 30 and 35...with Pittman being the 5th option. Let me know who you want!
For the 30th pick
I feel with adding John Wall the Wizards will go after a SF with the 30th pick and a big man with the 35th pick. Saying that though it will and should be the best possible player no matter what position. My 2 main sites www.nbadraft.net and www.draftexpress.com both have the Wizards taking Devin Ebanks at the 30th and after watching video of Paul George, Luke Babbitt, Gordon Hayward, Damion James, Nemanja Bjelica, Quincy Pondexter, Stanley Robinson, and Darington Hobson...I loved Ebanks the most of the bunch.
He's very athletic and has a good stroke, was on a winning team playing in the toughest conference, and he has good size. I only thought 4 of the SFs were worthy or a good fit at the 30th pick.
1. Devin Ebanks
2. Paul George
3. Gordon Hayward
4. Stanley Robinson
I'm still doing my homework on the big guys for the possible 35th pick.

Boozer fit for DC
I honestly think Boozer is a free agent that the Wizards should be targeting. If we don't move up in the draft and stay at 5 (maybe move down) then I say the Wizards should draft Aminu or W.Johnson.
C-Boozer
PF-Blatche
SF-Aminu
SG-Young
PG-Arenas
with McGee, Livingston (resign), Thornton, 2 more draft picks. I think that team would be competitive and fun to watch. In the draft there are plenty of big men, but none really imo are a good fit for the Wiz, except maybe Aldrich, but I don't get excited when I think Bryant Reeves. Targeting a legit center in free agency and aiming for a small forward in the first round would be perfect. Aminu is already a very good rebounder and I feel like he's a good fit with Blatche...more so then anyone in the draft other then Evan Turner. I feel with the first pick in the draft the Wizards have to go best talent that fits with Blatche. I'm interested to see if Arenas can turn Nick Young into a Larry Hughes talent...lol. This lineup is relatively young and Boozer and Arenas come with the intangibles and talent. If not Boozer then Bosh, but either way neither would be easy to get. If the Wizards do spend money this offseason I would hope its for one of those guys.
JaVale McGee and Hassan Whiteside
Who's Hassan Whiteside?? He's the freshman center for Marshall who's 6-11 215 and supposedly has a wingspan of 7'6 and he appears to be as athletic as McGee for his size. As of March 8, 2010 he has 14 double doubles and three of those being triple doubles (blocks being the third cat.). Until recently he's been projected as the first pick in the 2011 mock drafts, but he's been much better sooner then expected and is now projected as a 2010 draft pick. The two best players in the 2010 draft are going to be John Wall and Evan Turner, but now I can confidently say that Whiteside is the third best player for 2010. Yes, DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Favors, Wesley Johnson, Donatas Motiejunas, and Greg Monroe are up there.....but you watch this play and if you don't see a potential Dwight Howard in him you're crazy. Even if the Wizards don't draft this beast they need to hire an awesome big man coach to help McGee b/c we can't waste time not improving him ASAP (drafting Whiteside would only reiterate this point). Drafting Whiteside would give the Wizards fans the dream of having "twin towers"...granted it'd be all potential unlike having an established David Robinson and drafting a ready to go Tim Duncan.

You'll watch this and see flaws in his game like he relies to much on his size and athleticism on defense and he shouldn't be taking 3 point shots lol EVEN THOUGH he's 3-4 on the season from downtown. LIKE JaVale though his parents were professional athletes..Hassan's dad, Hassan Arbubakrr, played for the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Bucs. So if you aren't drooling over him yet youtubehas like 5 more videos (all with ACDC soundtracks lol) of him. SO WIZARDS FANS....if not John Wall or Evan Turner...Hassan Whitesidein the first with Sherron Collins at the 30th pick (slip that in there)! Throw some comments and let me know what you think!
Flip Saunders = Coach for Rebuilding
With the way the Wizards are playing right now it seems to me that Flip has got to be excited that these guys are working hard and seem to be coachable. Unless we somehow made the playoffs I don't see us sticking with much of the same roster to start next year with. I do feel like Flip and Ernie can find the talent in the draft and build a solid foundation. The energy these guys are playing with has the fans excited and I think much of that is Flip's AND a different mentality. By mentality I mean, "no one likes me, I'll show them" kind of thinking. Let me know what you think, but if we see this effort with this group then I think Flip/Ernie can pick out the people that will fit the identity that the Wizards are trying to establish.
NBADraft.net RIPS the Wizards trades
"It’s dumb GMs like Ernie who pay absurd amounts of money to players who haven’t proven anything, and in the end, it’s their fans who have pay the price. The Wizards are a joke right now. That was the worst series of transactions I have ever seen. You are awarded no points, Mr. Grunfeld and my God have mercy on your soul."
http://www.nbadraft.net/node/18420 ouch...that was the harshest part, but there is plenty of good stuff left
JaVale "Patty Flippin" McGee
So my friend and I went to the Wiz-Celtics game last night. It's halftime and the Wizards were winning and we were both upset that Oberto was getting what seemed like, at the time, a good amount of playing time. Oberto only played a little over 4 minutes for the whole game so maybe we exaggerated a tad. We both wanted to see McGee get some playing time b/c he's the one guy I feel all Wizards fans can get excited about.
So the players get back on the court for the shoot-around and both of us just watched McGee and Miller (he came out early and was draining everything). McGee started off with a bouncing off the knees/ through the legs/ free throw scoop shot (missed)...he then did a few behind the back dribbles followed by some lazy underhand shots. He threw the ball off the backboard and missed the dunk 2 times. Most importantly he was dancing and mouthing off the words to Fergalicious. Not once did JaVale take a jumpshot or resemble anything close to a killer mentality. My friend and I agree that his body language and attitude resemble that of a fast food employee to which we have given him the new name of JaVale "Patty Flippin" McGee. I'm a huge fan of the potential that McGee possesses, but he looks like he is years away from maturing enough to be an impact. I SAY HE'S NOT UNTOUCHABLE.
