In other news, a league executive confirmed that Columbus, Boston, Minnesota, San Jose, Phoenix and Carolina will be the six teams that start next season in Europe.

It's probably safe to bet that we will play Minnesota in Helsinki.  We have Ruutu, Pitkanen, and Jokinen, and they have Koivu, Miettenen, and Backstrom.  This should be great exposure for the Canes, but we lose a home game.  Also, will the travel affect the team's play early in the season?

It's no secret that NBC prefers to only show Washington, Pittsburgh, New York, Detroit, and Philadelphia, but this is a whole new twist that they will apparently just outright refuse to even show the sport if those teams are not involved.
