Cowboys Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten has learned that medical tests performed Monday revealed he suffered a fractured rib, according to team sources.

But the team's leading receiver refuses to rule himself out of Sunday's NFC East showdown against the New York Giants and has informed the coaching staff he will try to play through the injury.

When asked his prognosis, Witten said only: "It's not great."
