Bucs Nation Tebow at TE?

This idea may have been tossed around, but if it hasn't I will make the proposal. If I am Dom, I make a play for Tebow. It seems that Elway isn't sold on his current QB's progress to improve his overall game.

If our experience with Gruden has tought us anything, it is that coaches and executives with quarterback history lack patience when it comes to the maturation of young signal callers. Not only is there a similarity of impatience between the Super Bowl champion and the former Dayton College flop, they both have an affinity for experimenting with a variety of quarterbacks.

Although Elway doesn't quite have the track record of Gruden in terms of management, I can't help but get the feeling that his faith in Tebow is all but lost and will sign Peyton Manning. As much as it pains me to say, I am not that indifferent from him. Tebow's showing vs. the Steelers was awe inspiring, but managing only nine completions vs. the Pats doesn't exactly establish him as a premier QB. With that said, I believe it is time for Tebow3:16 to make the much needed switch to TE, where he can thrive as an NFL caliber player at a skill position. Would this be beneficial for Denver, Tampa, and Tebow?... Absolutely, and here is how and why...

1) Familiar stomping ground. 813 loves Tebow, and given that he has a sentimental character, Tampa would be his ideal team. Besides, Jacksonville isn't going to risk abandoning Blaine Gabbert to see if Tebow can fetch better results.

2) New toys. Vincent Jackson and an improved offensive line gives Freemen a chance to spread the field and develope some comfort in the pocket. Of course this will depend considerably on the contributions of check down recievers Williams and Benn. With the signing of Wright to possibly replace the imcumbant Ronde Barber, Schiano will forgo the opportunity to shore up the secondary by drafting Morris, and will opt for Trent Richardson to strengthen the ground attack. If you add Tebow who, in my honest opinion, is capable of outshining the likes of Jimmy Graham, Aaron Hernandez, and Rob Gronkowski, the Buc's offense transforms from flailing to scary good with just a few creative tweaks.

3) Winslow is a liability. I appreciate the resiliance he has displayed with his deteriorating knees and his effort to keep his temper/ego in check, but he just doesn't make this offense go. His altercations with teamates in the huddle don't provide for solidarity in this unit, and as every season fades, so does his ability to seperate from linebackers. Tebow can replace Winslow and lineup opposite to a healthy Luke Stocker.

4) More cap space and minimal compensation. As it stands, Tebow's worth as a (pure) quarterback doesn't exceed a sencond round pick. If the Bucs swap their 2012 2nd round spot for Tebow straight up, they can recoup by trading Winslow (possibly a third round), trading down, and still have a good chance to land Richardson or LaMichael James. This of course is just an idea, but one that could pay dividends. What say you?

Bucs Nation The drama continues

http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2009/06/29/bucs-gm-says-team-would-prefer-josh-freeman-sit-and-learn-early/

I'll have to trust Niko's magic 8 ball prediction for McCown, because Leftwich will only slow this offense down.  I just don't get it.  Stafford will probably start and his team is horrible, Sanchez will start and he only started 19 games for USC...(Sigh) I need a valium.  We will see this kid at some point this season.

Bucs Nation Start Josh Freeman

After the dismissal of Gruden and Allen, I thought the flaws of this team would be erased if not improved.  The extra cap space used on aging vets, the talent evaluation in the draft, and the west coast offense that never truly evolved.  I felt this year's draft would be used to add depth to a declining defense.  Instead of picking Peria Jerry to stuff the run i.e. Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams or Vontae Davis to replace Barber, Raheem picked Freeman.  The concerns of his lack of footwork and success at K-State don't bother me, considering he was the only Wildcat taken and was backed by the worst defense in the Big-12.  I am impressed and optomistic with his potential to give us our first 20 TD QB since Brad Johnson.   If you are going to replace Jeff Garcia's 64.9 pass % with Journeymen who haven't proved to be able to solve this team's red zone woes, why wouldn't you start the player you traded up for when you could have had a possible shot at Tebow or Bradford next year?  If Jags plans on a run heavy offense, why not get his feet wet?  Experiment with new toys like Winslow who can't be covered by any linebacker, and this o-line that I would take over Pittsburgh and N.Y. any day.  If healthy Ward and Graham will combine for at least 1,800 yds.  If you continue a bold trend such as a first round QB, follow through and hope for this year's Matt Ryan or Big Ben.  Don't think about it, just do it!

DRaysBay 2011 Lineup and rotation?

Hey my name is Danny and i'm new and this is my first post.  Now would probably not be the best time to make this post seeing that we are trying to bounce back from a sour 1st month.  The offseason would probably be better but I just wanted to ask for shizits and grizits...what will the roster look like in 2011?  Not 2010 I think it will be the same because Burrell will still be DH and all key players are under contract except for CC.  I say let him walk we could use that 15% of the payroll to extend BJ and Pena.  I suggested on a recent post we trade Kazmir and Niemman for Nate Mclouth in a three way with the m's and bucs that would send crawford to seattle but a few people disagreed.  I think 2011 would be an interesting season with young talent coming to fruition.  Will Davis and Hellboy be in the rotation to give us K factor?  Who will anchor the bullpen when percy is gone after this year?  Will we have an everyday rightfielder?  Can Jennings replace crawford?  Would Beckham turn out to be our Rabbit Maranville? I think our best years are ahead...do you agree?
