Silver And Black Pride Raiders Vs. Chiefs: hatred makes the world go 'round

Evil vs Good. Its been debated, argued and dissected for generations upon generations. Once upon a time there was the light, and that light's natural enemy was the darkness. Now what is darkness in comparison to light, and light to darkness? They are complete opposites in every aspect of their essence. Although I'm not going to sit here and like philosophers before me endeavor to explain this age old symbolism, I'm going to discuss how rivalries, especially the Raiders vs Chiefs, has played out and why it is one, if not THE BEST in all sports be it college or professional. Sure you get the answers from most rivalry polls such as Yankees vs Red Sox, UNC vs Duke, Packers vs Bears, or Cowboys vs Redskins, this Raiders vs Chiefs rivalry is, as i stated before the complete package. There is legitimate HATE on both sides, and as a loyal dark-sider, I embrace the Hatred. I honestly HATE the Chiefs, I hate everything about them, I hate their ugly Red and Yellow jerseys, I hate their stupid wolf mascot, I hate their sea of red fans, I hate Arrowhead, and I hate Marty Schottenheimer with a passion only understandable by a higher power. I'm sure many of the Raider Nation would sympathize with me in this assessment. Through this mutual hate, I say mutual because I know that the Chiefs fans could make every argument for why they hate the Raiders, is the beauty of this Rivalry!

We make the Rivalry what it is. The Raider Nation is the Rivalry. Our fans have a loud and proud heritage. I, for one, inherited mine from my father. He taught me to love the Raiders through thick and thin. The first game I ever went to was a MNF game. Raiders vs Chiefs. That God Damn Elvis Grbac throws a 'Hail Mary' Pass to Andre 'don't burn down my house' Rison to win the game with no time left. Talk about leaving a 4 year old in the Black Hole heart broken, but that's where we enjoy this rivalry. From the heartbreaks to the triumphs, the tears of joy to that of unmeasurable sorrow. I was once again in the Black Hole on November 7th, and it felt like nostalgia. I thought to myself walking from BART, my SANCTUARY! Where I can go in and enjoy my favorite thing in the world, cheering the Raiders and flipping off the Chiefs as they ran by to warm up. Embracing everything that is Northern California/Bay Area Football. Hard games that leave blood and sweat on the field. I haven't heard the Colosseum like that in a long time. This is what Raider football is about. FTW, we're gonna bash your head into the ground styles.

As I was sifting through the garbage at Arrowhead Pride, I encountered an Article from right before the first Raiders/Chiefs game this season, a complete bashing of the Oakland Raiders. Here you go Raider Nation, here is what those hicks think of you: http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2010/11/3/1791518/the-epitome-of-chiefs-vs-raiders

But I digress, here is my own assessment of our teams, rivalry, and our greatest games.

TEAMS/FANS:

  Blackholefans_medium

Ahhhh! Raider Nation. There isn't anything like it. The passion and devotion that we all take hold . Even if you've been to the motherland or not, Oakland, California has had a big part in the persona of the Raiders Mystique. Kenny "The Snake" Stabler once said:

"Oakland is a tough, blue-collar city. We were a tough, blue-collar team," Stabler said. "We fit that city like hand in glove."

For any of you who have lived, visited or even passed the Stadium, you know that Oakland isn't a place that's very charming to the eye, but for those of us who embrace Raider football, it is the mecca of our endearment. I lived 5 minutes from the Stadium for 12 years, and it is a place I still call home. We're not a walk in the park, you come to (as the residents call it) "Tha Town"- you better be ready to go hard or go home. Chiefs fans say we're inhospitable, but that's a lie. We're not gonna roll the red carpet out for you so get over it. We're not going to pat you on the back when your team scores, but that doesn't make us inhospitable. Our image as Raider fans has been castrated by the media. We're portrayed as some sort of terrorist group that kills puppies or something, but the truth of the matter is, we're a passion filled group that you can find in every corner of this country. Thats why we're Raider Nation.

Our team is that of renegades and tough guys such as: Jack "The Assassin" Tatum, George Atkinson, Mad Bomber Lamonica, Dr. Death Skip Thomas, the 11 angry men, Dave "Ghost" Casper, Ted "Mad Stork" Hendricks, Mr. Raider Tim Brown, and many more. The Raiders have 19 men inducted in the Hall of Fame. Not including legends like Stabler and Ray Guy who should be in, don't forget Tim Brown who should be in as well. Our team has achieved 3 Super Bowl Titles, 4 Conference Titles, 15 AFC West Titles, and 21 playoff appearances. A proud history for a proud city and fanbase. Our Owner, although senile, revolutionized Professional Football. He gave players who were tempered with anger a chance to prove themselves and they rose to the occasion.

Only Kansas City could spawn these men right here, but in all jesting, this is only fair to you KC fan, as you've called us countless dirty names. Don't deny it! You have! Yes YOU! Coming to our blog to read this post. Other than not winning a Superbowl since numbero cuatro, that's F-O-U-R for you hilly billys out there. The Chiefs haven't had a one and done playoff appearance since the days of Marty in 1993. Chiefs fans portray themselves as the epitome of class and excellence, but in reality- they're still douches. They can claim that they've sold out so many games this season when in reality- they only sold out the season opener against the Chargers and every home game since their network bought their tickets so they could televise the game locally. Chiefs fans preach, and preach about class and morals when it doesn't matter! It's football! Violence is the key, and when a team like the Raiders who's philosophy has always been to "JUST WIN BABY" you don't get hung up on the classiness of it all. We're your Anti-thesis Kansas City! We're the Joker to your Batman, We're the Evil Empire to you Resistance and We're the Darkness to you Light. Without the Raiders, where would you find your purpose? You'd be stuck on some desolate road in Kansas City looking like Elvis or painting an arrow on your beer belly without anywhere to go! So when you sit their, hating our Black Uniforms and despising our style of play look at it this way.... We were made to Hate each other. Many teams call the Raiders their Rivals, but there is not a team I would say is the true Rival of the Raiders like the Kansas City Queefs, oops, I mean Chiefs.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, here are a list of my top five most memorable games of this Historic Rivalry:

1. Raiders 41 - Chiefs 38: January 2, 2000

5156hcnacpl_medium

via ecx.images-amazon.com

Rich Gannon and Company play spoilers as they beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead to knock them out of the Playoff race with a Joe Nedney field goal. This proved to be the return to the top as the Raiders when on to win 3 division titles in a row at the beginning of the decade. Sunday is the 11th anniversary of this game, and I hope it propels the Raiders to come once again and dominate the West.

2. Chiefs 31 - Raiders 30: December 25, 2004

Raiders_chiefs__colo_t440_medium

via media.lawrence.com

The Raiders put up a hard fought game against the Chiefs but alas our mid-decade woes continued against our hated rivals. I sat by that TV for what seemed to be days as the Chiefs pulled away with Trent Green at the drivers seat. Talk about that for a messed up Christmas present.

3. Raiders 24 - Chiefs 0: December 28, 2002

6029331_medium

via media.trb.com

The Raiders ran over the Chiefs at a swap filled Network Associates Colosseum for 280 yards with Charlie Garner, Tyrone Wheatly and Zach Crockett all getting touches. This game sealed the Raiders AFC West three-peat and was an amazing way to cap of an amazing regular season.

4. Chiefs 28 - Raiders 27: HATE!

295487_medium

via cache4.asset-cache.net

This was a painful one, but has to be the most memorable one since this is where it all began for me as a child. With the clocks winding down and the Raiders on the verge of winning the game, Elvis Grbac throws a prayer up to Andre Rison who scores the go ahead touchdown and elevates the Chiefs past the Raiders. This is where my hatred began and has continued. I hate the Chiefs.

5. Raiders 20 - Chiefs 17: November 27, 2007

610x_medium

via cache.daylife.com

The Raiders recorded their first win against the Chiefs since the 2002 season in this epic battle as Justin Fargas ran for a 14 yard touchdown to seal the game. Other stats included a Michael Huff Interception and a LaMont Jordan touchdown. The Raiders and Chiefs ended up with equal 4-12 records, but the battles continued.

Honorable Mention:

Raiders 23 - Chiefs 20 (OT)- November 7, 2010

Jacoby_ford_kansas_city_chiefs_v_oakland_raiders_yinvxayhwlll_medium

via www1.pictures.zimbio.com

Jacoby Ford dices the Chiefs for 148 receiving yards and a kickoff return for a TD as the Raiders take the latest battle against the Chiefs at a soaked Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. This is just the latest in this heated rivalry as we look toward Sunday at the detestable Arrowhead match up between our Raiders and those ugly uniformed Chiefs.

I leave you now with quotes from those before us that have been a part of this rivalry. Heated Hatred makes the World go 'Round.

GO RAIDERS!

In Oakland...the games you always really wanted to come see were the Niners and the Chiefs. You grew up hating red...It goes deep. It's not just the teams. It's the organizations, you know, which organization is better? These are two teams that played in the old AFL against each other. Most of the history goes back to it. They've been AFC West rivals for a very, very long time. It's always been the must-win game.                                                                                                                                                           -Kirk Morrison, former Raiders linebacker

Those were my favorite games...I always likened them to a heavyweight fight. You knew you were going to get beat up, but it was fun. We needed the Chiefs. We wouldn't have been as good without them                                                                                                                         -Ben Davidson, former Raiders defensive end.

It's a dark game. I characterize it as a lot of darkness." When asked whether "dark" was meant as 'a good vs. evil dark'—"You can read between the lines.                                                                                                                                                                                                       -Gunther Cunningham, former Raiders defensive coordinator and former Chiefs Head coach and defensive coordinator

t's something special. It's not just media hype...You can sense it with coaches and players. Then you get out into the community, and you realize what a huge game this is for both cities.                                                                                                                                                        -Will Shields, former Chiefs offensive guard

Only one word: BLOOD. -Harvey Williams (who was with Oakland that season after four years in Kansas City) in a 1995 NBC interview for the team's first meeting in Oakland since 1981

First place chat: Broncos on top of Chiefs

Well, we're looking at being in first place at the end of the day. The Broncos have shown the Chiefs their true colors. Anyone watching the game, we can discuss the joy of being in first place for the first time in a long time. We still need to take care of our jobs the rest of the season, but the Raiders can be in sole possesion of first place if the Donkeys can keep this up. Go Raiders!

Silver And Black Pride Who is actually going to the Game on Sunday?

I, for one, am going to be there on Sunday. I was wondering if anyone else is going to the game and if there is any S&BP tailgating going on. I know we're frustrated about the outcome of Week One, but just as in other games the 12th man needs to show up for support. That 12th man is the Raider Nation. I know this is probably not worthy of a fanpost, but since I'm going to the game I was wondering what members of this online community are going to be actually at the game (considering our brothers on this site who don't live in the Bay Area will be with us in Spirit).

Also, if you are going comment what section and what time you're gonna get to the stadium.

Hope to see you there!

Silver And Black Pride I'm Back

Hey Guys, I finally got a chance to get back online here. I haven't been on here since the end of the school year, and have had some road blocks in my Family (grampa died) and personal life (tough decisions about school and such) which is why I haven't been on lately. It's good to see everyone still blogging about the Raiders, and getting ready or the Season which is approaching quickly.

Detroit Bad Boys Man to Man pt4-5: 'Sheed, Stuckey vs. Ilgauskas, Williams

I figured since I didn't get online yesterday, that I would combine the two Man to Man for today. I'm really enjoying Motown String Music, and am hoping we get more and more here so that this can be the best possible Pistons blog on the web.

Today we will look very briefly at these players (mostly '09 stats- i'm kinda in a rush today) and then I'll make my final prediction for the series.

The first match up is Rasheed Wallace and Big 'Z' Ilgauskas, with the second being Rodney Stuckey and Mo Williams.

Silver And Black Pride List of those prospects who are visiting the Raiders

As I was searching around tonight for all things Raiders, I found on SFgate a list of those Draft prospects that are planning (or have already) to come to visit Oakland. This is ,for me personally, exciting because it shows that people still want to come visit the Raiders and play for this great franchise.

Detroit Bad Boys Man to Man pt.3: Antonio McDyess vs. Anderson Varejao

In this series, for the Pistons, there will be a definite need for them to dominate down low. The Pistons have always had a good set of big men, and strong rebounding.

In today's segment of Man to Man pt.3,Motown String Music will look at the battle between Antonio McDyess and Anderson Varejao (although I said that I was going to do it on 'Sheed I remembered that 'Sheed is going up against the Great 'Z', so I decided to match McDyess with Varejao instead). Both men posses the height to dominate down low that will be necessary to (for the Cav's) dominate or to (for the Pistons) put up a fight.

There are distinct styles that make up these two players. Now lets look at this matchup!

Detroit Bad Boys Man to Man pt 2: RIP Hamilton vs. Delonte West

Yesterday we looked at what would be a key matchup for the Pistons first round series against the Cav's, between Lebron James and Tayshaun Prince, and I came to the concensus that Lebron James wins that matchup.

Today, I'm going to not only be doing this but also adding a poll in this fanpost just in case any of you disagree with myself. Today's was originally going to be RIP vs. Wally, but one of the guys from Fear the Sword made a good point that Wally is highly unlikely to post major minutes in this series, and Delonte West would be a better choice to matchup against Richard Hamilton.

So without more interuptions, I give you RIP vs. Delonte

Detroit Bad Boys First Round Playoffs- Man to Man pt.1: Lebron Vs. Tayshaun

While reading JMW's post on the first round, I decided to start a series before the first round begins looking (at least the starting) players in the 7 game series between our Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I'm calling this Man to Man for the reason that we will be looking at the potential different matchups between the players from both teams.

In this first segment we will look at what will probably be the most talked about matchup: Lebron James vs. Tayshaun Prince. This is a classic example of Offense versus Defense. Sure, We know that Lebron will get every call in the book, but what Tayshaun needs to do is play consistent Basketball Defense on Lebron, and the Pistons will be right in the thick of it.

So with out further delay, Let's look at the Lebron / Tayshaun matchup!

Silver And Black Pride Bears Get Big Splash With Cutler

The Chicago Bears have finally gotten that QB that they have needed for so long by trading for Jay Cutler. No- This isn't like Saint and his April Fools Joke, this is supposed to be real and ESPN has the Story. Supposedly the Bears give up Kyle Orton and Two First Rounders for Cutler. I don't know if this is Good or Bad but I know I don't like the Donk's getting Two First Rounders, but I can deal with Orton, because he is inconsistent.

Silver And Black Pride Greatest Raider of All Time

As we get closer and closer to Draft day, I thought we might take a look at some of the greatest Draft picks the Raiders ever selected.

Today I was searching and reading a mock draft on ESPN when something at the right caught my eye, and it was a link to an instant debate on NFL.com on who was the Greatest Raider of All TIme. I read their debate and noticed something right off the bat, some people were missing from this debate. That list of unmentioned (that could have been on) includes:

Jack Tatum

George Atkinson

Ray Guy

Rich Gannon

Bo Jackson

Daryle Lamonica

Dave Casper

Howie Long

Cliff Branch

etc. etc. etc.

Here is the Link to the Debate on NFL.com

wanted to put together a list of guys that I felt were the Top Raiders of All Time, and some of my personal choices. So if I state something that you might (and probably will) disagree on, put your own list on a comment so we can talk about it.

Here is my List and I'll tell you why:

#10. Marcus Allen

Once upon a time in Raider-Land, Marcus Allen was the King of Running Backs, and even led our beloved Raiders to a Super Bowl Title over the Washington Redskins with his epic Reverse Rush all the way down field to be at that time the longest rush in NFL Super bowl History. Years past and as we know, Marcus left the Silver and Black to join the hated Kansas City Chiefs. The reason I have Marcus so far back in my list is becasue although he was a vital cog in the organization during his tenure with the Raiders, He left us to finish his career with the Chiefs, which was not only a slap in the face to Al, but also a slap in the Face to the Raider Nation. I just can't put him below 10 because he left us with such a bitter taste in our mouths. I know I'll probably get hell for putting Marcus this Low but its just my personal feelings towards the man.

Bd0446e375924b96930e098c87697ccc_medium

ya see why I put him last....

#9. Jim Plunkett

The man could play, and Al finally gave him that chance. Jim and his time with the Raiders was memorable and how he wove the masterpiece in Super Bowl in 1980 was pure excellence. For the fact that He was the Quarter Back of the first ever Wild-Card team to win the Super Bowl, he is on my list as number nine.

062401_plunkett1_medium

#8. Howie Long

Long-action_180_medium

Howie is next on my list for a few reasons: His all around athleticism was one to be remembered and his stats were amazing! He completed His Career with a total of 84 sacks INCLUDING 7.5 in 1981 before the sack was even made into a stat. His Five tackle performance was the capping of our Super Bowl XVIII Victory and Third Super Bowl.  Defensive Player of the Year in 1985, 8 time pro-bowler, and leader on a Defense that was dominating in the 80's.

#7. Ray Guy

Probably the most dominating Punter of All Time who has been screwed over time and time again by not being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Basically I can tell you that Ray Guy is probably why the NFL instituted the Hang Time. Guy's Booming Punts and massive amount of Hang Time even resulted in opponents checking for Helium in the Ball after his punts! Although I admit that Shane Lechler is probably going to pass Guy's legendary status as a punter, Shane is still on active. Guy was also there for all three super bowl wins, and his punt against the Redskins that drove them back to the 12 yard line was the one that set up Squirek's Interception that led to a 21-3 halftime lead that eventually turned into a 38-9 Super Bowl Victory.

Rayguy_medium

#6. Tim Brown

I basically grew up watching T-Brown play and all I could say about him was... 'wow'. Tim Brown was born to be a Raider and bled Silver and Black all the way. Yes, he did end up in Tampa, but that was because of some issues. Even though he ended up in Tampa he was still a Raider and recorded his 100th career receiving touchdown in Oakland ( Destiny). He was Longest Tenured Raider, holds Raiders Records in Touchdowns, Yards from Scrimmage, and all purpose Yards. He was a Fan Favorite his whole career in Oakland and He loved the Raider Nation with a Passion.

Timbrown_medium

#5. Ken Stabler

One of the Greatest Quarterbacks in Raiders history was 'The Snake'. His presence in the organization during the 70's and during our first Super Bowl Team. Sure he was a little scandalous off the field, but who in the Raiders wasn't at the time? Nicknamed 'the Snake', Ken was force on and OFF the field getting into a whole bunch of problems, but he always came through and was part of the rebel mentality during the Raiders success in this era. He is still one of the Quarterbacks not in the HOF that was on the 1970's All-Decade Team (along with Terry Bradshaw and Roger Staubach) which is a travesty in my books. Although he was outrageous and though he was as a counter-hero, Stabler always was clutch as clearly stated by Gene Upshaw:

When we were behind in the fourth quarter, with our backs to our end zone, no matter how he had played up to that point, we could look in his eyes and you knew, YOU KNEW, he was going to win it for us. That was an amazing feeling.

09_stabler_medium

#4. Dave Casper

The Ghost to the Post

041501_casper2_medium

Dave Casper, TE for the Oakland Raiders was a part of one of the Greatest and Most Controversial Plays in NFL History, known as the Holy Roller. Dave Casper has a career full with 378 passes caught and 52 Touchdowns. He was vital in the First Superbowl team of the Raiders and is considered one of the Best Tight Ends in NFL History. His First Season as a starter, he spring boarded himself to the National Limelight with 53 catches, 691 yards and 10 Touchdowns! 'The Ghost' as he was called by His teammates was a very humble player and never took credit for his pass catching abilities and often referred to them as "no big thing", but 'The Ghost's' no big thing was in fact Huge. It was the 1977 Divisional Playoff Game versus the Baltimore Colts that lasted 6 Quarters and can be summed up into one play-'Ghost to the Post'. The Rest as they say is History. Casper finished his career in Los Angeles as a member of the Raiders Organization.

Get outta my way Donkey!!

#3. Gene Upshaw

'Uptown' Gene

Upshaw_action-180-220_medium

Gene Upshaw has to be one of my favorite players ever to wear the silver & black. As a Guard, Gene established himself a rep of being one of the most dominating players on the field. Upshaw helped the Raiders win 2 Superbowl's during his time with the Organization, and was during his time, a standard in which most offensive linemen were measured. His Rookie season he was moved to guard from playing tackle, and because of his speed and moblility, he became the prototype for the next generation of NFL guards. His Awards consisted of: AFC Lineman of the year 3 times, NFL Lineman of the Year in 1977, Six Time Pro-Bowler, and played in 2 Superbowl teams.

#2. Jim Otto

Quote from RaidersOnline.org: " For Fifteen years, Jim Otto became a fixture at center for the Raiders, never missing a game due to injury- and there were many of them... To this day, Jim Otto embodies the toughness  and determination the Raiders began to ferment in the mid-1960's, after Al Davis took over the team"

Jimotto_medium

Jim Otto is what you would call a rare case of "Raider By Birth". Jim was destined to play for the Raiders and Destiny brought him to Oakland. He was selected to the Pro football HOF in 1980- which was the first year he was on the ballot. He played 14 years with the Oakland Raiders. He always reffers to Al Davis as 'Mr. Davis', and has the upmost respect for the man who began one of the original teams of the AFL. Let's say this, the man was and still is tougher than nails and was a dominator in his position for over 10 years. He is still remembered as one of the Greatest Offensive lineman of all time. That is why Jim is number 2 on my list.

and.....

#1. Fred Biletnikoff

Biletnikoff_action_180x220_medium

Fred Biletnikoff goes on my Greatest Raider of All-Time list as number one for a couple of reasons

Fred Biletnikoff was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 1965 draft and eventually developed into one of the most dangerous WR's of all time. At the time of his retirement in 1978, he was the holder of record for Raiders receiving yards and held a buttload of NFL marks as well such as catching 40 or more passes in 10 consecutive seasons. His career stats were amazing during his day at 589 passes caught 8,974 yards receiving, and 76 touchdowns. He was the primary target for Ken Stabler during the Championship season of 1977 and is the only WR in NFL Superbowl history to be named MVP without more than 100 yards receiving. He was responsible for setting up our scores during a route of the Vikings in Superbowl XI. He was also a 6 time pro-bowler. Also a little known fact is that Freddie rarely ever wore shoulder pads when he played. He was a REAL MAN!! =)

He has to be my all time favorite Raider WR of all time, and had such an impact on the early days of the Organization that I put him at the #1 spot.

So like I said.. I'll probably get Hell for some of my picks, but if you want put your own list together in the comments section.

My Honorable mentions are : Cliff Branch, Daryle Lamonica, Art Shell, George Atkinson, Rich Gannon, Jack Tatum, Ted Hendricks, Lester Hayes, Willie Brown, Bo Jackson... if I forgot any let me know!

Silver And Black Pride Coles to Bengals... Crabtree now to Raiders?

Story from ESPN

I don't know if this means that the Raiders will get Crabtree but we are definetly a contender..

I tried posting this link on the transactions thread but it didn't work so i just put it on this new fan post so that you could read it.

Do you guys think that now the Raiders will get Crabtree or will we take a different route in this years draft?

What are your thoughts on Coles going to Cincy and would there be any obstacle in getting Crabtree now?

Silver And Black Pride Redskins Cut DE Taylor

It seems as if the Redskins are trying to get back into contention in the NFC East...

Could something like this benefit the Raiders? and would it even be worth pursuing a player like Jason Taylor if it comes at a decent price? For some reason I could totally see Al going for this just because He is Al.. but for some reason I really don't want this to happen because I am convinced we have something going for us this upcoming Draft.

Silver And Black Pride AT least some good news

Link to Espn: Croyle out against the Raiders on Sunday... Any thought??

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3576602

I think this gives the Raiders a shot to redeem themselves this Sunday @ Arrowhead. Hopefully they get it together before then..... D-Hall needs to step it up and so does the whole O line and D line this Sunday against the Chiefs.... Tell me what you guys think about this Sunday and lets try to get this loss out of our heads... still got 15 more games to go....

Silver And Black Pride "This is what you get for being optimistic!"

Well..... what can I say? 2-12 on 3rd downs, and fouls in the double digits. No QB protection, and no pass rush. The one thing that we had that I thought was the strength of the team proved to be the thing that killed us, the pass defense. D.Hall, and Asomugha, and the rest of the secondary are to blame for this implosion. Eddie Royal looked like Jerry Rice last night in his first game, and it was mostly to blame on the secondary. I have a room mate who is a cowboys fan, and he wasn't paying to much attention to what was happening last night, but when he realized that I wanted to kill someone since the Raiders where being embarassed last night he told me something very intersting. He told me. "This is what you get for being optimistic!!" I thought he said exactly what was true..... The whole Raider Nation was optimistic because of what we had on paper! Don't blame Al Davis for this team, because he spent MONEY this offseason. Don't blame #2 for this team, because the whole time he spent on his a**!!! He got no pass protection from the O-line. If you wanna blame someone then blame the O-line, the D-line, the WR corps, and the Secondary. Period.

Silver And Black Pride Oh my Favorite.....Donkey Burgers!!!!!

Hey Raider Fan...Today Chef Kiffen served up somethin' us in the nation haven't had in a while...good ol' fashioned Donkey Bergers. Can you TASTE it. Its something I have not experienced since the Snowy game in Denvers Port-a-potty. We haven't had a good rivalry win in Oaktown since 2002. This was interesting and has gotten me pumped up about our franchise. Coach Kiff is looking like he's making progress with the O line, and he's giving the Nation reason to trust him. Just putting Russell in for a little bit helped get the crowd behind the home team.
I am just seeing reflections of when chucky was still with us and I see a team thats fired up to play. 7-9 or 8-8 isnt out of reach, I will be satisfied with either of these records because 1)it shows that we've come a long way and 2) it is WAY BETTER than 2-14! As long as we keep playing like this we can beat all of the teams in the West. So Donkey fan...don't start trying to crawl off the plate, if we play like this you guys will be on our young chefs BBQ grill for some years to come! The Autum wind is a Raider....oh and saint....how was the cold?

Silver And Black Pride We are up for a Ride!

Call me optomistic, or call me crazy! These Raiders that went out on Saturday looked pretty good. The O-line was by far the best I have seen in a while. They actually looked like they WANT to play. I commented earlier on saints post of the game on saturday that D-Rhodes looked like a guy who can carry the load and also for those who were watching the game Adimchinobe Echemandu looked like a young guy with a bright future as a Raider. McCown was eh and Walter looked like what he would have last year if we had an O-line. Culpepper was good not counting his cough*cough fumble on his first snap. He actually threw pretty good passes that were droped. This was a great way to start the Lane Kiffin era! For some reason I am now promising never to complain again about losing Jon Gruden...by the way who was that guy again?? Go Raiders
