Baseball fan since 1973 or so. A Cardinals fan for many years, but unintentionally became an M's fan in '95 (yeah, yeah, I know... but it wasn't a bandwagon jump so much as the fact that I realized I suddenly knew more about the Mariners than about the Cardinals). Best year of fandom was 2000, when I worked at Digital Sherpas, and my primary client was the Mariners. That profile image is a capture of the Mariners' team site before MLB took them all over. That site was my baby--I worked on it about 16 hours a day. And those were the days where the SABR-inclined M's fans could mostly be found on UseNet: alt.sports.baseball.seattle-mariners. Fans there got a bit of a kick out of me sneaking OPS into the stats on the M's team site, and eventually making that the default sort for batting stats. These days? Still a fan, but not as involved. Spend a good bit of my time improvising, mostly at the Market Theater (right in the middle of the gum wall).
