What the hell is he going to do? Buy, Sell, or play 3 infielders in the outfield. I am convinced no one has a damn clue for one reason. Castellini. He is so sick of losing so much that he might add Rolen or Pierre just to have a shot at .500. One thing is absolutely for sure, Walt is pretty good at not tipping his hand. We are the only team this far back in the standings there is even a question whether we are buyers or sellers. I think that is impressive, although I would be alot more impressed if we had a winning team on the field.

Facts are facts, this is not our year. If you would have told the RR crew that Volquez, Bruce, Encarnacion, Votto, Gonzalez, Owings, and Dickerson would spend time on the DL...and EV, JB, EE, and JV would be gone for over a month.....we would have said come on Bryce Harper the next Cincinnati Red! That being said, the interesting thing about Bob's crazy and Walt's poker face is that this does give him room for negotiation with all party's (buyers and sellers).

I can see a situation in which the Reds get Pierre and Rolen(both with cash), and still be in great financial shape for 2010. Its all about how much money is exchanged and if it turns out to be a cheap add for the future. It really comes down to alot of tough decisions. Trading Cordero, Trading Arroyo(maybe with $), Trading Harang (maybe with $) and of course the prospects. Personally I think prospects are currently overrated, but that's my opinion.

One thing I am absolutely certain about.... Walt is a good poker player, and he is the type of person I want as GM. The type of talent he acquires, and means of which he obtains it will always be debatable (saber vs. traditional, etc.)....but I want this kind of negotiator running the show. (example everyone knew Krivsky wanted to trade Dunn and Griffey every fucking year, but he gt shit offers because he didn't play his hand correctly)

Thoughts on our current situation as sure fire losers:

1. Thank you Joey Votto for showing some god damn heart and getting kicked out tonight. As a former coach of high school sports, I think it is absolutely essential to know when as a coach you need to motivate the team and get yourself kicked the fuck out of the game. A confident good coach knows that he hired good/loyal assistants that will make calls 90% the as same as yours, so when the ump/ref makes a shitty/borderline/game changing call its time to man up have a little fun. I think its a little ridiculous that Dusty is such a fucking hippie when is comes to arguing calls, AND ITS THE COACHES FUCKING JOB TO MAKE SURE HE GETS KICKED OUT BEFORE THE PLAYER! JOEY VOTTO WINS GAMES NOT DUSTY FUCKING BAKER!

2. There is no way we are making the playoffs. Therefore every deal must make us better for next year. And yes I like Scott Rolen for 2010.

3. Walt is alot smarter than we all think for not getting Stubbs on the 25-man until rosters expand. This keeps another option year, which makes him more tradable(especially if you have concerns), and lets him develop more. And besides what's another month, we are still going to lose.

4. This is the worst Reds offense I have ever seen in my lifetime.

First I want to start off by saying, I think Walt has done an outstanding job so far as GM.  Obtaining Ramon, Willy T, and Collossus have been excellent moves so far, and I think they are the big part of our current success. 

That being said.......I have a 2 players on our current 25-man roster (24 currently) that I think could be greatly improved upon. 

The first one has the following numbers which seem respectible : 2.31 ERA with 0.88 WHIP, and 0.150 AVG against left handers.  This seems respectable until you realize that he has pitched 11.2 innings, with 5.2 being against LH and 6.0 BEING AGAINST RH who are hitting a whopping .346 AVG with a 2.33 WHIP!!!!!! This does not even include the inherited runners he enjoys pushing around the bases.  I understand the reason for his current roster spot, you need a LH specialist, but you have LHRP in AAA who pitched 47 innings of 2.87 ERA in the bigs last year.  He also has 5 innings of no runs 0.6 WHIP going for him at AAA.  And he gets everyone out, so you don't have to worry about your manager misunderstanding his role, or him losing a 14 inning game, or losing a game against the fucking Cardinals.  In short DANIEL RAY "VOTE FOR PEDRO" HERRERA IS A BUM, BRING UP BILL "FORMER 1ST ROUND PICK" BRAY.

Next we have a battle of RH outfielders.  One is a RH OF "hitting" 0.231 for the Reds, and can't lay down a fucking bunt to save his life.  I don't care if you bring up a pitcher, get this guy off the 25 man.  Seriously we have Owings, and at least a pitcher could lay down a bunt.  They could also bring value when Badroyyo decides to start throwing batting practice.  OK so we have 2 guys in AAA that could out play this BUM.(actually all Bats OFs could, but ANYWAYS) Hopper is hitting .315 and is 8/9 in SBs and is a great bunter.  Gomes is hitting 0.242(BOOO) but has 6 homers(YEAH).  In short, DUMP DMAC AND BRING UP HOPPER.  DFA THIS BUM, I BET MY LIFE SAVINGS NOONE PICKS HIM UP.

This is by far the best commercial I have ever seen.  Jimmy Rollins is hilarious.  I would love to see someone try this.  I laughed for at least 5 minutes replying with my DVR.
