Seven Packers named to Pro Bowl
Four defensive players(!) and three offensive: Clay Matthews, Charles Woodson, Scott Wells, Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings, John Kuhn, and B.J. Raji.
Yeah. Pro Bowl fullback, John Kuhn
Tramon WIlliams in post-game pain; no "final diagnosis"
...per Kevin Seifert on ESPN. Presumably the no "final diagnosis" part means it's a muscle issue, and not a broken bone
Should the Cardinals go after Carson Palmer?
He's 31, so he's probably got at least 4 or 5 good years left.
Seems like he could be a good fit for the Cardinals. And I'm sure guys like Larry Fitzgerald would be glad to see a QB come in with solid passing skills.
You know why it's stupid to rank offense and defense by yards per game?
Because right now, by that measure, the San Diego Chargers have the number one offense and defense.
Al Harris to be placed on PUP list
"[M]eaning he will miss at least the first six weeks of the season."
Per Greg Bedard @ JSOnline
New playoff OT rules are a hideous tangle of sub-cases
Bedard breaks down some cases at the link. They could've made it a simple case of "first to 6 wins". But no. It's a spaghetti tangle of rules based on "opportunity to possess".
This case seems particularly awful:
Following a successful field goal on the opening possession of overtime, Team A’s kickoff is muffed by B1 at the B35 and is recovered by A2.
Ruling : Game over. Team A wins. Team B had an opportunity to possess the ball.
Is Mike Martz on his way to Bears?
I fully support the idea of the Bears' hiring Mike Martz as offensive coordinator.
Packers can clinch a playoff spot this week
1. Packers need to beat the Steelers,
2. Either Cowboys (@ Saints) or Giants (@ Redskins) need to lose
49ers get 5 interceptions, score only 10 points, win anyway
In related news, I'm going to go ahead and pencil in the Cardinals as clinching the NFC West.
