Peyton MANning how to stop?

Hey guys and gals,

Just quietly, exactly what would you think is the perfect one liner to say to all those who were saying that this guy was over the hill in week 4? Apparently he was too old and not the same Peyton Manning.

Well 6th come from behind victories, 23 completed passes IN A ROW! and reviving this team is not only MVP material but also bragging material for us Indy fans.

On a related note, exactly who can stop us right now? In the AFC? Titans, they lost to Houston. We beat the Steelers and the Ravens and Chargers. The Jets? Doubt it. Miami? No. Denver? You think Cutler can beat Peyton in a shootout?

What about the NFC? Couple of threatening teams, but luckily we only face them in the late stages.

So who would it be?

NYG, Dallas, Vikings, Arizona (lol), Carolina.

I don't think they can beat the Colts in a straight up match in the superbowl so i think we are a real contender (which we all know) so what do you say? 3 superbowls going to wildcard contenders in 4 years? 2 superbowls in 3 years?

Fingers Crossed.

Titans loss brings new hope

Well the Titans got absolutely mauled by the Jets today and this gives us some newfound hope for winning AFC south. We have a soft schedule and all of our games are winnable and should be won (not counting Titans).

Conceivably Titans could lost to the Steelers in round 16 which would have 2 losses all up, if they lose a game against detroit, cleveland or houstoun (preferrably houston) then they will be 3 losses down heading into the colts game where we will have 4 losses. This means that a win in that game could mean victory of the AFC south based on conference record (we have lost to jacksonville and titans they would have lost to houston and us) I'm not sure how a tie would be broken in this case but we do have a chance of claiming AFC south yet again.

Don't give up hope if today's and the last 3 games have shown anything it is that we can win

This guy is an absolute machine, good running and TD that won us the game, Also Freeney, another machine with his 2 sacks and they were both big. I am also ecsatic at how well we stopped the run. Still alot of work that needs to be done but that goal line stop of Moore was very very sexy and made me happy in my nether regions. Colts are now > 0.500 and i am even more confident of a playoff spot now especially with the next few opponents we have.

tl;dr Dominic Rhodes = Beast, discuss

Jacksonville lost to Cincinnati. Anyone else feel sick that we lost to this team? They lost to arguably the worst team in the league and we lost to them, at home. Talk about a bad season. They were favourites for AFC South too, right now they look prime to take bottom of the south. Houston is also doing pretty well and hot on our tail.

Now all we need is for Tennessee to fall off their pedestal and lose their next 8 games in a row so we can take the South (unlikely but lets all pray really hard).

Wildcard not seeming impossible right now.

Not only are their experts idiots but so are their fans. Under the referrel of a [former, now] friend i was prompted to download "ESPN's Football Today" podcast featuring Jeremy Green, son of poor head coach Dennis Green. Luckily for me it was a great segment on whether or not the Colts' season is over, this lead to the conversation with the "Indianapoli Colts" superfan

This joker continued to state that the Colts' season is over, that they should rebuild for next year, that their team is too old [is this guy serious] and that Eli is a better qb than Peyton because Eli throws the ball with "reckless abandon".

If i had known that throwing the ball with reckless abandon led to being a great quarterback I would have told Bill Polian about this great player i saw last weekend. Albeit he was 9 years old but still obviously has the goods.

He also said that Peyton was over the hill and looking like "an old man" on the field. Not only is this disrespectul to the fans of this team who aren't bandwagoners and know about the game more than throw pass catch = good it is also disrespectful to Peyton who is the most intelligent and best QB i have ever seen.

During listening to the monstrosity [to which the espn 'expert' agreed whole hartedly with every comment] I could not help but wish that it was our own BBS telling Jeremy Green where to shove his stupid views about the colts and that we "Can't stop the run without Sanders" and how the season is actually going to unfold.

Just when you think ESPN is as bad as it can be they manage to sink to a new low.

Where they lined up in the I-Formation and ran the ball. What were they thinking? Obviously i know they were hoping that they could get 1 yard by following the fullback over it but seriously a 7 year old with a copy of Madden knew that was going to happen. I think if there was maybe a quick curl by a WR then it would of been beautifully set up and the defense would not have seen it coming.

The second 4th down they went for it i think Peyton tried to force it to Marvin since its been done so many times before, Gonzo however was wide open and it would of been another easy 1st down.

Also Gonzo lines up in the slot with Wayne and Harrison on the edges? What you guys think of that one?

Is it Reggie Wayne or Marvin Harrison?

IMO it is still Harrison i don't think the bond that Manning and Harrison built can be destroyed with 1 year of inactivity and although Wayne is definitely solid and able to be the #1 wide out you can still see Peyton looking for Harrison deep on flags posts and goes.

Wayne seems to be playing slot alot more but i think he would be good on the left and letting gonzo take the slot. Not my job though ill leave that up to the ladies in blue.

There are 2 things certain about this weeks match:

1. There will be some 20 minute spiel about how Colts bolted in the night from Baltimore.

2. The Ravens will game plan to run the ball down our throats

Hopefully the coaching staff will realise that if Ravens have McGahee (although he is questionable) the Ravens will have a good running game going. However if we are able to get up in their face and smash their RB for losses or very small gains for the first 5 or 6 carries then we completely destroy their plan along with ESPN's 'experts' and their "My 7 year old son could run the ball against Indianapolis" This forces them to pass with QB elite Joe Flacco (haha) and then we can sit back and watch him get munched by Freeney and Mathis (God i hope they are healthy).

If they are able to continually run the ball for 5+ YPC then we have another tight one on our hands. Question is have we done enough to be able to stop the run this week (ultimately up to DL)

Sick and tired of hearing these so called "experts" say that indi can do nothing against the run with Bob Sanders? Who employs these idiots? I seem to recall us winning the superbowl in a year where he didnt play for the majority. Also even though he is the FS and DPOY saying that one person is the only thing involved in stopping the rushing offense of an entire team is just stupid, running the Tampa-2 i would say every player on that field has the agility and ability to stop the run.

ESPN worst culprit... then again we know what they are like.

The Texans as our next opponent is seen as an easy game by most, the thing is that they are now 0-4 and this means they now have nothing to lose this could be very bad because when somebody has nothing to lose they can try all sorts of things which could be very bad. Also its in the division which means that the teams know each other inside out.

I expect it to be a close game which is going to require alot of effort on our part. What do you all think?

[Expecting Marv and Manning have a spectacular game, where expecting=hoping]
