Top 25 Under 25, no. 5: Jared Cowen

Gone but certainly not forgotten, Jared Cowen won't suit up for the Ottawa Senators this season and he will be sorely missed. He is already one of the best defencemen on this team, and he just turned 22.

Lookin' at Lundin

The Ottawa Senators newest blueline will make his debut tonight after sitting out the first few weeks with an injury sustained during the lockout. But who is this guy?

Top 25 Under 25, no. 8: Patrick Wiercioch

It has been a roller coaster ride for Patrick Wiercioch but he's finally made it to the show and looks good. He checks in at number eight on our countdown.

Some Love for Mika Zibanejad

Yesterday I wrote about how the Ottawa Senators and their fans have embraced the notion of a rebuild, as evidenced by the influx of Binghamton Senators in Ottawa. One stood out among the rest last night.

The Ottawa Binghamton Senators

We waited a long time for the NHL to come back, and in the meantime many of us were able to whet our hockey appetites by watching the Binghamton Senators. Now that the NHL is back, it seems that we are once again watching the Bingo Boys.

A Karlsson Problem?

Look, I love Erik Karlsson like he was my own brother. Nothing gives me greater joy as a Senators fan than to know that my team has the most electrifying and skilled blueliner in the whole NHL, but I'm worried.

Top 25 Under 25: #11 Zack Smith

He may not give a crap (got that one outta the way early), but we think Zack Smith is pretty excellent.

Who is your number 2?

So after we all had a great old fashioned hate-fest here the other day talking about which teams we just do not like, today we take the flip approach and find out who you have a secret crush on.

Top 25 Under 25, no. 14: Shane Prince

Another in a line of undersized skilled forwards, and another in a line of players plucked from the Senators backyard, Shane Prince looks to have a bright future with the Senators.

The Teams We Love to Hate

The Ottawa Senators are lucky (unlucky?) to be stuck geographically between arguably the two biggest hockey markets in the world, and as such have formed some intense rivalries over the years. My question today is what is the team you love to hate?

The Senators that You Miss the Most

Yesterday we let our hearts run free, expressing our feelings for any player in the NHL who revved our engine. Today, much more specifically, we look at former Senators.

Admiring Talent from Around the League

Now that hockey is back and we are all settled in, I'd like to take a look at the league, and put out a question each day, see what your answers are!

Friendly Schedule is Helpful Early

I may have gotten a bit ahead of myself here yesterday, extolling all of the many virtues that this year's version of the Senators have shown so far. Today, a bit more of a step back.

Everything is Rolling

Hey now, we can't get ahead of ourselves, we've only spanked the first two teams we've played.

Which Line Looks Best?

The Senators are back and looked good in the opener. Today we look at which line was most effective.

Drafting Philosophy: Defence or centre?

Sure, the season hasn't started yet, but in the blogosphere, it is never too early to talk prospects and draft stuff. Today, we have a philosophical question about the upcoming draft.

How are the rivals doing?

I know its been a while since we watched any NHL hockey, but once upon a time we had some pretty serious rivalries with nearby Montreal and Toronto. With both teams being lottery picks last year, they will both look to bounce back.

Who benefits from the intra-conference schedule?

The new schedule has been officially announced, and with it the reality of no inter-conference games. This should certainly help cut down on travel, and should help out some rivalries, but which conference benefits?

The Importance of Tim Murray

Recently, Nuggets have been about things that are hot topics, the end of the lockout, the state of the blueline and Jakob Silfverberg. Today I go to a thought I had just yesterday about an important part of the Senators organization, Tim Murray

Silver Nuggets: Ooh Aah Silfverberg

When was the last time an Ottawa Senators forward prospect had this much hype heading into camp? And when was the last time the Senators had a rookie forward that could be considered to have as big an impact as Silfver is expected to?

The Senators Blueline is Messy

I had to get it out of my system yesterday, but from now on it is all hockey talk all the time. Today, lets look at some serious blueline issues our favourite team is sure to have.

They knew we'd be back

Hockey is back, and there are not many people happier than this Nugget writer, now with loads of fun things to write about. But what does that say about us?

Silver Nuggets: Who Benefits Most From Lockout?

We've been doing this all wrong, focusing on the doom and gloom of the NHL lockout, but fact is, for some Senators players, this lockout could be a great thing. Right?

Silver Nuggets: Bingo on a Roll

While there is no hope of NHL hockey anytime soon (or ever for that matter), Senators fans should be rejoicing anyways as the Binghamton affiliate team has won 6 straight games, and are getting key contributions from all over the lineup.

Silver Nuggets: Case for Robin Lehner

If/when the NHL season starts, there should be some questions surrounding the Ottawa Senators. One of the most pressing questions will be between the pipes with Robin Lehner putting up spectacular numbers in the AHL.

Silver Nuggets: Hockey Becoming a Fading Memory

As the weeks drag on with no hockey and no resolution in sight, its hard to remember what NHL hockey is like.

Silver Nuggets Late Edition: Poor Jared Cowen

Jared Cowen is apparently undergoing season ending surgery. At this point, doesn't look like he'll miss any NHL games, but it still sucks.

Silver Nuggets: The Sad Case of Mika Zibanejad

Mika Zibanejad had a tough go of things in the 2011-2012 season, facing injuries and playing on a terrible team in the SEL. The hope was he would be able to get on track playing in the AHL this year, but so far he has had trouble.

Silver Seven: The Big "What If"

Things look to finally be getting serious when it comes to negotiations between the players union and the league. Now that there is a (slight) chance for optimism, what if we DO get part of a season?

Silver Nuggets: Binghamton Senators Line Combos

For those of us who are on Twitter, the only thing we really have going for us in terms of Senators news is the information out there about the B-Sens. Some line combos out today were a bit curious.
