NFLN John Fox Interview

John Fox reiterated his desire to have Pep back and that the organization still thinks very highly of him. The key statement to me went something like this regarding Peppers statements about leaving "This is a business and sometimes people have to say things to that end" or something like that. He is essentially saying he's not going to let Peps statements get in the way of his eventual return - Updated by Jaxon

Read between the lines

Darin Gantt reports "In each of the last two seasons, head coach John Fox started showing more influence in Trgovac’s defensive meetings, doing so four games into 2007 and around midseason last year." Was Fox responsible for the collapse of the defense this past season? It would appear that way.

Panthers defensive coordinator post up in the air again

Darin Gantt at the Herold Online, is reporting that Mike Trgovac may not return to the Panthers after all. "According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Trgovac was initially prepared to return to the Panthers for an eighth season and seventh as coordinator, but something happened Wednesday to change his mind. ... The Panthers had been steadfast in their defense of Trgovac’s work, even as he became the latest lightning-rod for criticism among the fan base. He was offered a new two-year deal this week, and was prepared to accept before his apparent reversal Wednesday night. It’s unknown at this point if the breakdown was a result of contract negotiations gone awry or other factors."
