Nordiques Fans Rally at Thrashers - Isles Game

Really Quebec? Could you be more obnoxious? Seriously though, where does Quebec rank on the list of possible cities? Definitely behind Winnipeg and Hamilton, probably behind Hartford as well. Stay classy Quebecois.

I know this is a bit old (2008), but it's comedian Jon LaJoie beating up a Flyers fan. I already liked him, he is now my new hero.

Tonight, Spurgeon was recalled by the Minnesota Wild and will join the team in Calgary, where he could make his NHL debut on Monday.

From the Wild's official site. Former Isles pick and reject Jared Spurgeon gets recalled from the AHL. To put this in perspective, as bad and as injured as the Isles have been, they haven't been reduced to calling up a 5'9" 20 year old reject of another organization to play defense.

Patrick Roy's CV

Seriously. Patrick Roy's CV from the Quebec Rempart's official site. I couldn't make this thing up if I wanted to.

Bailey took a hit in the first period, then felt a pull on a slap shot later in the first period. They’ll take a look at it Sunday, but it’s not supposed to be serious.

From Fornabaio after tonight's game in Hartford against the Connecticut Whale. Well, it better not be serious.

Blogger vs. MSM debate from The Score featuring James Mirtle, Damien Cox, Julian from PPP and Tyler Dellow. Man, Cox doesn't do himself any favors making himself look like the bitter, old coot he is. Hat tip to Hockey Wilderness. Fail Update: I can't embed this video for some reason. So the link is above...

PHX puts Prucha on waivers, CHI puts Garnett Exelby on, VAN puts Schaefer on $125 waivers for release purposes.

From Bob McKenzie's twitter. Either Exelby or Prucha interest anyone? They wouldn't hurt and Isles would only be picking up their salary (Prucha has a 1.2 mil cap hit).

The Price is Right! - Islanders Game-Worn Jersey Edition

So I was skimming through the MeiGray Group's Islanders game-word jersey selection the other day. It is pretty interesting, and the best place to pick up that Josh Bailey Game Worn Jersey you've...

#isles dman Mike Mottau will stay overnight in hospital again tonight; will remain in Atlanta "until further notice"

Per Katie Strang's Twitter. He apparently still has significant swelling around his eye and received stitches for the cut the puck made.

–The Free Chris Botta movement turned this into a hockey Thursday on WFAN. Not sure which was more entertaining: that, or that Mike Francesa insisted, even after a commercial break, that one of the Leafs took out Pierre Turgeon in 2002. Peca hurt, but losing Turgeon, forget about it.

Considering all the talk of Snow/Capuano I thought this would shed a little insight into where both guys came from. This is a trailer for Ice Kings, a documentary about Rhode Island High School hockey, specifically powerhouse Mount St. Charles. I've seen it a couple of times, including interviews with then yet to be GM Garth Snow, who appears briefly in the trailer. MSC has produced NHLers Brian Berard, Matthieu Schneider, Snow, Brian Lawton, Brian Boucher, Jeff Jillson, Keith Carney and Paul Guay. Capuano, the Cranston native, and his brother Dave played for bitter rival Kent.

Dylan Reese Signs 1 Year Deal

After an impressive finish to the season with the big club, the Harvard man gets a two way deal worth $500K at the NHL level. In other news, the man he was traded with, Mike Radja, signed for Augsberg in Germany and the man the Isles traded to Columbus for Reese and Rajda, Greg Moore, signed with Philly. I'd put this one in the win column for Snow.

Göteborgs-Posten says Frölunda general manager Kent Norberg that the club is interested in taking back Bergenheim, but that there may also be interested in KHL 26 year old.

A Swedish hockey site naming a couple of possible destinations outside of the NHL, the KHL and Frolunda of the Elitserien, for now former Islander Sean Bergenheim (Personal note: Why? Any explanation would be sufficient.). Bergenheim played for Frolunda during his Wang-imposed exile in 06-07.

The other Islanders jersey I discovered in the back of my closet while getting stuff packed. I purchased this jersey blank sometime in the fall of 2001 and then had Webb's name and number put on it sometime around January of 2002.

Crazy Swiss Rumor Mongering: Streit to Anaheim

In the article Streit denies the rumor, saying its the first time he's heard of it and he expects to play for the Isles next year. What do you think - Crazy Swiss dreams of uniting Sbisa and Hiller with their countryman or some truth to this rumor?
