the artist formerly known as "smudgers"
I've sent in my application to the Real World. So I'm hoping to hear back from that. I'm putting A LOT of my eggs into that basket, the MTV basket. I'm also thinking about getting a gun, and dealing crack. Being a crack dealer. Not like a mean crack dealer, but like... like a nice one. Kinda friendly like, "hey, what's up guys? Want some crack?" I'm just waiting on those two things to flesh themselves out.

WCG 101: Glossary of Commonly Used Terminology

The smell of football is in the air. The signing of free agents and draft selections always bring new usernames to our little slice of Chicago Bears heaven. And while some have been lurking for a while, others pop in and get their yahoo on right away. So, I thought I'd give an introductory course, educate the newbie masses if you will, on some commonly used terminology around these here parts.
And while some of these phrases may be standard internet slang, I thought I'd throw them out there anyways. Whether you're looking to brush up on your WCG-speak, or just want to take a walk down memory lane, jump with me to check out the glossary that I've come up with. Enjoy.

2012 NFL Draft/ Chicago Bears Overflow Thread (Part 2)
Even though the Jets need a starting QB, they went with a WCG favorite in DE Quinton Coples. And while it wasn't as glorious as I'd have liked, the boo-birds were still out.
A run on defensive ends started, but was balanced out by the Dre Kirkpatrick pick by the Bengals. Going forward, there's a lot of quality left, after some picks turned some heads. (Poe? Really? Poe?)
That said, we're heading into the last third of first round--nothing quite like the money-grab of the first round having it's own special night.
Update: the Bears have made their selection at #19: Shea McClellin, DE Boise State. Head over to the dedicated thread to discuss.
Sign-Trade-Release: Offensive Weapons

Rules: The object of this game is simple. I'll provide you with a mixture of three past or present Chicago Bears players. You'll decide which one of these players you would sign, which one you would trade, and which one you would release. You must sign one, trade one and release one. Use the comments section to tell us your selections, and the reasonings behind them.
Ham and eggs with Lovie Smith
The NFC Coaches Breakfast was this morning and Head Coach Lovie Smith was there to answer some questions about the state of Chicago Bears: including where they stand at LT... Johnny Knox's progression... Matt Forte versus the man... and much more.

Chiefs OT Eric Winston on what it's like to be released in the NFL
Peter King asked Chief's offensive tackle, Eric Winston, to document what it's like for a veteran player in the NFL to get released. If you have a few minutes, I highly recommend you giving it a read through.
Johnny Knox will start the season on PUP list
As many speculated, the Chicago Bears will be without one of their deep threat wide receivers when the 2012 season opens. Johnny Knox was carted off the field after a excruciating hit against the Seattle Seahawks last season, and will begin the season on the physically-unable-to-perform list.
There is a strong chance Knox won't play in 2012, but placing him on the PUP list would leave open a return to the field if Knox's recovery is accelerated. He would have to sit out the first six weeks of the regular season once designated to the PUP list. LINK >>
Dolphins would have released Brandon Marshall
Highway Robbery... Biggest Steal of Free Agency... just a couple of the names that headlined the Chicago Bears recent trade acquisition of Brandon Marshall. According to Izzy Gould of the Sun Sentinal, had the Bears not traded for the pro bowl wide receiver, the Miami Dolphins would have cut him outright.

Sean Payton suspended one year. Mickey Loomis 8 game and $500,000 fine. Saints fined $500,000 and a second round pick in 2012 and 2012.

#Rams will not have DC Gregg Williams when #Bears play them this year. He's been suspended indefinitely by NFL.
Stay tuned for more information as it breaks. And remember, open thread responsibly.
What's up, MHR? Long time, no speak. I just created a new 8-bit art piece and wanted to post it over for you fine folks to see. And congrats on landing Peyton.

Cowboys and Redskins loss is the Chicago Bears gain
Adam Schefter is tweeting that the NFL is fining the Cowboys and Redskins millions of dollars in salary cap, due to how they front-loaded deals during the uncapped year.
@AdamSchefter Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space, Redskins lose $36 million in space. Can split it over 2012 and 2013 any way they want. More at ESPN.
What does that mean for the Chicago Bears?

Windy City's Mother: I created this around the same time that I made 'Lovie's Last Supper'. I had forgotten all about it until I recently stumbled upon it while organizing my files. Hope you enjoy.
