Ridiculous Upside 2011 NBA Mock Draft

2011 NBA Mock Draft

1. Cleveland Cavaliers- Kyrie Irving PG Duke- This pick has been set for a while even though Cleveland has been exploring other options. The past few drafts have had franchise changing PG's such as Derrick Rose and John Wall. I don't think Irving is going to be that good but I do believe he will be a very good player and should make a significant impact on the Cavaliers.

2. Minnesota Timberwolves- Derrick Williams F Arizona- Now this is not a need pick but a pick that is BPA. I don't think that Williams will ever play a game for the Timberwolves because he doesn't fit on a team that already has starters in Wes Johnson, Michael Beasley, and Kevin Love. I think after the Wolves pick him it should be easier to trade him because teams with later picks can see how the draft is going and then make a better offer.

3. Utah Jazz- Enes Kanter C Turkey- This is the smarter pick for the Jazz because Kanter fills a need and has tremendous upside. Now the Jazz have been exploring the option of taking a PG here but neither Knight or Walker seem to be worthy of this high of a pick. Kanter should be an immediate starter and being paired with Al Jefferson will give the Jazz a great front line.

4. Cleveland Cavaliers- Jonas Valanciunas C Lithuania- Now the Cavs are hoping that Kanter will be here but it seems unlikely that he will be. Valanciunas is a very risky pick because he will not play next season because of his current contract. He does though have great potential because of his size and experience.

5. Toronto Raptors- Bismack Biyombo PF Congo- The Raptors need a PF to replace Chris Bosh and although Biyombo isn't really an offensive threat yet he will make an impact defensively. This is much smarter than picking Brandon Knight here.

6. Washington Wizards- Jan Vesely PF Czech Republic- Now I believe it would be smart for Washington to trade up to number 2 and draft Derrick Williams so John Wall can be given another weapon. Although it would require trading McGee I think it would be worth it. Vesely though would fill a need at PF for the  Wizards they will not be significantly improved by this pick.

7. Charlotte Bobcats- Tristan Thompson PF Texas- The Bobcats traded up earlier on draft day in the hopes of getting Biyombo but it seems as if he will be gone by now. Thompson is also high on their list but he to me only seems like a solid rotation player.

8. Detroit Pistons- Kawhi Leonard SF San Diego State- The Pistons are in an bad spot because their is really nobody who fits their team. I do expect them to trade this pick but if they don't I hear they are high on Leonard.

9. Charlotte Bobcats-Alec Burks SG Colordao- The Bobcats are hoping Leonard falls to them but if he doesn't they could use a SG and Burks to help them score the basketball. Burks in my mind isn't worth this high of a pick but he can make an impact for the Bobcats.

10. Sacramento Kings- Jimmer Fredette G BYU- The Kings draft day trade shows that they want Jimmer but felt they could trade down a little bit to get him. Jimmer is a great shooter but he does struggle to get open which will be the reason why he will only be a slightly better version of JJ Redick.

11. Golden State Warriors- Klay Thompson SG Washington State- The Warriors are looking to trade Monta Ellis so they would need a replacement at SG. Thompson would be able to make an impact immediately on the Warriors because of his ability to shoot. A backcourt of Curry and Thompson would be a good core to build around.

12. Utah Jazz- Brandon Knight PG Kentucky- The Jazz were thought to be leaning to picking Knight at number 3 so they would be thrilled if he was available to them at 12. Most Utah fans would like for them to pick Jimmer but I think it's smart to not have to pick him so he doesn't have the pressure on him. This is a little fall for Knight but to me he seems like a shoot first PG who isn't a great shooter.

13. Phoenix Suns- Markieff Morris F Kansas- The Suns should really look to trade up for Derrick Williams because I think he would make a big impact on the Suns but it doesn't look like they will do that. If they go with Morris he will be like most of the other players in the draft, a solid rotation player.

14. Houston Rockets- Kemba Walker PG Connecticut- This is a drastic fall for Kemba who was thought to be a top 10 lock and now might fall out of the lottery entirely. I think this is a smart pick for Houston because they could really use a PG to replace Aaron Brooks.

Mocking The Draft My Final Mock

Carolina Panthers

Record: 2-14

Cam Newton QB Auburn   This is going to be their pick. Now Panthers fans need to realize that even though this might not be the smartest and is definetly not the safetest it needs to be the pick. The Panthers will never compete for a division title unless they get a franchise QB and Cam Newton certainly has the potential to be that. The argument for Gabbert is that he is much safer but he has a much lower ceiling so he in my mind doesn't deserve consideration for this pick. I believe that it is worse if the Panthers don't pick Newton and he turns into a star than it is if they pick him and he busts so that is enough for them to pick Cam Newton.

Denver Broncos

Record: 4-12

Von Miller OLB Texas A&M  The Broncos have many holes but the most glaring one is that on the defensive line so why not pick the best lineman available. That would be to easy which is why Denver won't do it. I don't understand why they would take a rush linebacker but I guess that's why i'm not picking here. Dareus makes the most sense but I believe that Miller will end up being there pick.

Buffalo Bills

Record: 4-12

Marcell Dareus DT Alabama  I think the Bills would be thrilled to have Dareus fall to them. He provides a huge need for them in a D-Lineman who can stuff the run and rush the passer on third down. I don't believe they will look at Gabbert because he doesn't have the ability to be a franchise quarterback.

Cincinnati Bengals

Record: 4-12

A.J. Green WR Georgia   With the departure of T.O. and the soon to be departure of Chad Ochocinco this puts a big need at the WR position. Now Carson Palmer says he wants to be traded or he will retire but no matter who would be at QB would struggle unless there is an upgrade at the receiver position. A.J. Green is a fantastic receiver who even though he missed four games this year still scored 9 TD's. If Palmer comes back next year expect for him to play a lot better with Green, Shipley, and Gresham catching balls from him. Gabbert could be the pick but without a big time receiver no QB can play well.

Arizona Cardinals

Record: 5-11

Patrick Peterson CB LSU  I think the Cardinals will make the smart choice and take the BPA in Peterson. Even if they trade down I believe that Peterson would be the pick at 5 no matter who is picking here. Gabbert is an option according to some people but I don't think Gabbert is worth this pick so I believe they will pass.

Cleveland Browns

Record: 5-11

Julio Jones WR Alabama  This is a great fit for the Browns because they lack a number one receiver which Jones would give them. Now Jones is not as gifted as Green but this isn't a reach so the Browns would be getting good value with their pick. Robert Quinn is an option but there are more DE's in the draft than WR's so Jones should be the pick.

San Francisco 49ers

Record: 6-10

Robert Quinn OLB North Carolina  With no QB available who is worth this selection the 49ers get to select a big time pass rusher in Quinn. The 49ers would love Peterson to fall to them but I don't think that is realistic. Gabbert is also considered but I think Harbaugh has his eyes on another QB. Quinn should prvide them the outside rusher the 49ers need.

  Tennessee Titans

Record: 6-10

Nick Fairley DT Auburn  The Titans really need to replace Haynesworth and Fairley gives them the interior pass rusher their DL has been missing. The Titans also need a QB but I believe they will use a veteran QB and look for a QB later in the draft or through free agency. Fairley dominated the the SEC last season and even though it was only for one year I believe he has the talent to be a great NFL pass rusher.

Dallas Cowboys

Record: 6-10

Tyron Smith OT USC  The Cowboys need to do a better job of protecting Tony Romo and Smith can help them with that. Now there is no consensus top tackle and I don't even think Smith deserves to go this high but he has the potential to eventually beome a pro bowl LT and that will cause him to be the pick. The Cowboys can also use a CB which is why Amukamara needs to be considered but I think they need an OT more than a CB. JJ Watt is also an option here but OT is a bigger need.

  Washington Redskins

Record: 6-10

Blaine Gabbert QB Missouri  The Redskins once they release McNabb will be looking for a new franchise QB. I think Shanahan has some faith in Grossman but not enough to stop him from drafting a QB. Now while I beliee Gabbert is overrated I think he can be coached to be a nice QB in the league. This may be consideered a fall for Gabbert but I can actually see him falling farther than this.

  Houston Texans

Record: 6-10

Aldon Smith OLB Missouri  The Texans are in need of an OLB because they are switching to a 3-4. Smith is a late riser in the draft but can bring some much need pass rush to a struggling Texans defense. They could also trade up to get Patrick Peterson but it might end up costing too much.

  Minnesota Vikings

Record:6-10

Anthony Castanzo OT Boston College  The Vikings could go QB here but I believe they take the safe pick in Castonzo. OT is a big need for the Vikings and Castonzo could immediatley start at RT for them. If the Vikings trade down look for them to target Jake Locker although I don't believe they ill trade down to take him.

Detroit Lions

Record: 6-10

Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska  Now people will call me biased as a Lions fan but I actually prefer Jimmy Smith to Amukamara. I think the Lions need to swing for the fences with this pick and take Smith instead of taking the safer player in Amukamara. I believe he will be a good corner but not a shut-down corner like many others think he will be.

  St. Louis Rams

Record: 7-9

Corey Liuget DT Illinois  The Rams really surprised everyone this year by their play this year and I expect Bradford to take the next step if they can give him some elite weapons. The Rams would love for Julio Jones to fall to them but I think if they really want him they will need to trade up for him. Corey Liuget should eventually replace Fred Robbins and help an improving DL.

Miami Dolphins

Record: 7-9

Mike Pouncey OG Florida  The Dolphins are tough to figure out because while I'm not a believer in Chad Henne it seems that they will give him another chance to prove himself. The Dolphins need a RB because they will probably get rid of both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams but I don't believe they are that high on Mark Ingram. I think Pouncey will give Henne one more chance to prove himself.

  Jacksonville Jaguars

Record: 8-8

Ryan Kerrigan DE Purdue  The Jaguars could use another DE to pair with Aaron Kampman and Kerrigan fills that need. The Jaguars don't always go BPA as in the case last year with Alualu but they know what their doing. I think the Jaguars would love for Aldon Smith to fall to them but I think they will "settle" for Kerrigan.

New England Patriots (from Oakland)

Record: 14-2

Cameron Jordan DE California  Jordan is a perfect fit for a 3-4 DE and that is exactly what he will be playing in New England. Now the Pats got this pick by trading Richard Seymour so why not get a player to try and replace what Seymour brought to the table which is pass rush. The Pats could also use a deep threat WR but I don't think they would trade up for either Green or Jones so I give them another DE to help with the pass rush.

  San Diego Chargers

Record: 9-7

JJ Watt DE Wisconsin  The Chargers are extremely talented which makes them tough to figure out because other than another WR they don't have any glaring needs. With the departure of their D-Coordinator Rivera it changes their defense completely so I just gave them the BPA on defense which is Watt. He can play DE in a 3-4 so this would be a nice fit to the statistically number one defense in the NFL last season.

New York Giants

Record: 10-6

Gabe Carimi OT Wisconsin  The Giants have no glaring needs because in most of the games they lost they were self inflicting wounds mostly Eli throwing picks. Carimicould immediatley start at RT or OG for the Giants and help give Bradshaw and Jacobs room to run and give Eli more time to throw so he can avoid those costly INT's. Ingram is also considered an option but I think they are happy with their RB's now.

  Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Record: 10-6

Da'Quan Bowers DE Clemson  The Bucs are hard to figure out because I think they played a lot better than their talent seems to indicate. I think Josh Freeman is playing a lot better now but I still have questions about his accuracy against the better defenses. Anyways the Bucs only had 26 sacks this year so DE is a very big need. With Gerald McCoy and Brian Price playing well up the middle adding a good DE would only make this young defense better. This is a considerable fall for Bowers who was once considered a top 5 lock falling to 20 but the Bucs should take a chance on him at 20.

  Kansas City Chiefs

Record: 10-6

Danny Watkins OG Baylor  The Chiefs look to be on the way up based on their surprising division title. With a young and improving defense the best thing to do is to add another Offensive lineman to help improve the passing game. This might be considered a surprisng pick but Pioli is knwon to surprise people.

  Indianapolis Colts

Record: 10-6

Nate Solder OT Colorado  The Colts seem to be on the decline based on how they played this year. Their OL problems couldn't be solved by Peyton this season. Solder is one of the top OL in a very weak OL class so the Colts must grab him while they can. If the Colts can solve their OL problem they might have one or two more seasons of competiting for a super bowl.

  Philadelphia Eagles

Record: 10-6

Jimmy Smith CB Colorado  The Eagles played very well this season under Michael Vick but still have some problems. First off with Vick playing he scrambles a lot which requires the OL to hold their blocks for longer so adding more OL is the biggest need. The Eagles could also use another DT to pair with Mike Patterson. I believe that Smith provides to much upside for the Eagles to pass up so he will be their pick.

New Orleans Saints

Record: 11-5

Mark Ingram RB Alabama  The Saints didn't played on well on defense this year which is surprising based on the personnel they had but the only thing that comes to my mind is that big Marshawn Lynch run at the end of the Wild Card round. Now they could use a defensive player but this is a case where their is to much value in picking Ingram this late that Sean Payton can't resist having a full time back to use.

Seattle Seahawks

Record: 7-9

Marvin Austin DT North Carolina  This is an auckward spot for Seattle because they need a QB but I don't think they would pick one here. I also think they could use a defensive lineman which is why I gabe them gave them Austin who could end being great value this later in the first round. I believe Pete Carroll can get the best out of Austin who didn't play last season.

  Baltimore Ravens

Record: 12-4

Cameron Heyward DE Ohio State  Now the Ravens would love to have Jimmy Smith fall to them but I doubt that happens so they take the best DL available. Heyward gives them more punch up front and that is much appreciated by Ray Lewis.

Atlanta Falcons

Record: 13-3

Jonathan Baldwin WR PIttsburgh  The Falcons want to trade up for one of the top two receivers but if that doesn't work they will take Baldwin. The Falcons could really use a down field threat because Roddy White is more of a slot type receiver and not a burner. The Falcons played well in the regular season but ended up struggling against the Packers because when the Packers took Roddy White away from Matt Ryan, he struggled. The Falcons could also look at RT if Tyson Clabo ends up leaving but as of now he is on the team so I give them a receiver.

  New England Patriots

Record: 14-2

Brooks Reed OLB Arizona  The Pats are in position to trade down adn they probably will if Mark Ingram isn't here. Reed would provide them with another outside rusher if they can't trade back.

  Chicago Bears

Record: 11-5

Muhammad Wilkerson DT Temple  Tommie Harris has not been himself the past couple of seasons because of injuries so it would behoove the Bears to find his replacement while they can. The Bears also really need some OT and WR's but none seem to be worth the pick right here. Wilkerson would look great on the championship caliber defense the Bears already have. I don't think Wilkerson is worth a top 20 pick as some have said but this is good value for him at 29.

  New York Jets

Record: 11-5

Aleem Ayers OLB UCLA  The Jets go with a good pass rusher here at 30 because they have a great defense but no pass rusher really stands out. Ayers can only help a top 5 defense with his all around player.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Record: 12-4

Aaron Williams CB Texas  The Steelers really need another CB too put next to Ike Taylor because the Packers now exposed how to beat the Steelers. The Steelers will always be great against the run so attacking them with the pass is the way to go. Williams would make their secondary a lot better and if Ben can stay out of trouble expect them to be contending for another super bowl next season.

  Green Bay Packers

Record: 10-6

James Carpenter OT Alabama  I expect the Packers to trade this pick to a team looking to draft a QB but if they're still her I expect them to go OL. Carpenter would be a nice player for the Champs.

Tell me what you think of my picks and if you don't like them why and who you would want for your team

Mocking The Draft Mock V3

Marcell Dareus  DT Alabama  The Broncos have many holes but the most glaring one is that on the defensive line so why not pick the best lineman available. The Broncos can also go with Patrick Peterson but it would be in their best interest to go with the DL. I don't see Von Miller being a possibility here because he would be playing out of position and think of it as what the Seahawks had in 2009, would they pick Aaron Curry over B.J. Raji? The broncos will realize that Dareus fills an important need for them so he will end up being the pick.

Buffalo Bills

Record: 4-12

Von Miller OLB Texas A&M  I think the Bills would love to have Dareus fall to them but I don't think he will so they will choose another pass rusher in Von Miller. I think that this is reaching a little for Von MIller who is a great pass-rusher but I don't think he can play good enough in coverage to warrant this spot. He does fill a big need for Buffalo because they lack a true pass-rusher from the outside. I don't think they will consider Gabbert here because I don't think they like him enough to pick him over a defensive playmaker they need.

Blaine Gabbert QB Missouri  I think the Cardinals need to come out of this draft with a QB and during the lockout they cannot make any trades so drafting one is probably what they are going to do. I'm not a big Gabbert fan because while i do believe he will be a QB I don't see the potential greatness that will lead to playoff wins. The other option is the luxury pick in Patrick Peterson who I believe is the best player in the draft. I don't see them making that pick because if you like a QB you must take him because relying on a later round QB is not a smart choice.

Cleveland Browns

Record: 5-11

Robert Quinn DE North Carolina  This is a great fit for the Browns because like the Bills they lack an elite pass rusher. Even though he didn't play lsat year at 20 years old he has the potential for greatness and that is too much for the Browns to say no too. Another option is WR Julio Jones who would give them a go to WR wich they lack but the only problem with Jones is that he was very inconsistent so this might to high for Jones.

San Francisco 49ers

Record: 6-10

Patrick Peterson CB LSU  With no QB available who is worth this selection the 49ers get the luxury of picking the best player in the draft in Peterson. This is a bit of a fall for Peterson but most teams don't get to use a pick on someone like Peterson because they have more pressing needs which is good luck for the 49ers. I don't believe anyone will trade up to this spot so if Peterson falls to them don't expect hthe 49ers to wait to long to hand in their draft card.

Fairley dominated the the SEC last season and even thoughit was only for one year I believe he has the talent to be a great NFL pass rusher.

  Washington Redskins

Record: 6-10

Julio Jones WR Alabama  The Redskins once they release McNabb will be looking for a new franchise QB. I think Shanahan has some faith in Grossman so I don't think they will reach for a Jake Locker here. This means they should move to their next need which is at WR where there is knowone who puts fear into opposing teams defensive coordinators. Jones would be a great fit here because he can immediatley step in and play and help out whoever plays at QB for them next year.

  Houston Texans

Record: 6-10

J.J. Watt DE Wisconsin  The Texans are in need of a DE because while switching to the 3-4 it moves Mario Williams to OLB so they need a new DE. The Texans may also go CB in Amukamara but I think they will pick another pass rusher. Watt has the perfect size and strength to play DE in a 3-4 so he will fills a need that the Texans must address.

  Minnesota Vikings

Record:6-10

Da'Quan Bowers DE Clemson  Now this is a considerable fall for Bowers who was once thought to be a top 5 lock has had injuries that have caused his fall so now it is hard to gauge his new draft stock. The Vikings will lose Pat Williams to retirement and possibly Ray Edwards in free agency so picking someone to play opposite of Jarde Allen would be smart. Bowers when healthy has the potential to be a dominate outside rusher that would make the Vikings DL scary.

Detroit Lions

Record: 6-10

Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska  Now I need to admit I'm biased as a Lions fan but this would be a reasonable pick for them. The Lions top need is at CB and even though this a little far for Amukamara I think that this could concievably happen. With so many teams with other needs than at CB Amukamara could fall to the Lions. If he is there they will waste no time in picking him because he fills their need at CB, is the BPA, and has no potential character  concerns.

  St. Louis Rams

Record: 7-9

Aldon Smith DE Missouri  The Rams really surprised everyone this year by their play this year and I expect Bradford to take the next step if they can give him some elite weapons. The Rams would love for Julio Jones to fall to them but I think if they really want him they will need to trade up for him. Aldon Smith is a great pass rusher and played most of this season ith an injury which shows he's tough. Smith would be a great addition to a young and improving DL.

Miami Dolphins

Record: 7-9

Mark Ingram RB Alabama  The Dolphins are tough to figure out because while I'm not a believer in Chad Henne it seems that they will give him another chance to prove himself. The Dolphins need a RB because they will probably get rid of both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. They may also use this pick on a Defensive Lineman but I think they need a RB to help Chad Henne develop.

Record: 9-7

Akeem Ayers OLB UCLA  The Chargers are extremely talented which makes them tough to figure out because other than another WR they don't have any glaring needs. With the departure of their D-Coordinator Rivera it changes their defense completely  so I just gave them the BPA on defense which is Ayers. He can play OLB in a 3-4 so this would be a nice fit staying close to home in San Diego.

New York Giants

Record: 10-6

Nate Solder OT Colorado  The Giants have no glaring needs because in most of the games they lost they were self inflicting wounds mostly Eli throwing picks. Solder could immediatley start at RT for the Giants and help give Bradshaw and Jacobs room to run and give Eli more time to throw so he can avoid those costly INT's.

  Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Record: 10-6

Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa  The Bucs are hard to figure out because I think they played a lot better than their talent seems to indicate.

  Kansas City Chiefs

Record: 10-6

Phil Taylor NT Baylor  The Chiefs look to be on the way up based on their surprising division title. With a young and improving defense the best thing to do is to add another Defensive Lineman and what the Chiefs could really use is a pure NT which they get in Taylor.

  Indianapolis Colts

Record: 10-6

Anthony Castonzo OT Boston College   The Colts seem to be on the decline based on how they played this year. Their OL problems couldn't be solved by Peyton this season. Castonzo is one of the top OL in a very weak OL class so the Colts must grab him while they can. If the Colts can solve their OL problem they might have one or two more seasons of competiting for a super bowl.

  Philadelphia Eagles

Record: 10-6

Gabe  Carimi OT Wisconsin  The Eagles played very well this season under Michael Vick but still have some problems. First off with Vick playing he scrambles a lot which requires the OL to hold their blocks for longer so adding more OL is the biggest need. The Eagles could also use another DT to pair with Mike Patterson but an OT is much more important because this team isn't going anywhere without Vick.

New Orleans Saints

Record: 11-5

Corey Liuget DT Illinois   The Saints didn't played on well on offense this year which is surprising based on the personnel they had but the only thing that comes to my mind is that big Marshawn Lynch run at the end of the Wild Card round. Now that is not the only reason why I think they need a DT but it needs to be looked at along with some OT's because Stichcomb and Bushrod were abused at times this season.

Seattle Seahawks

Record: 7-9

Mike Pouncey OG Florida  This is an auckward spot for Seattle because they need a QB but I don't think they would pick one here. I also think they could use a defensive lineman but I think they would go with Pouncey because this is great value at pick 25. Pouncey can eventually become a pro bowl guard just like his brother who is now a pro bowl Center.

  Baltimore Ravens

Record: 12-4

Jimmy Smith CB Colorado  Now Smith may end up going a lot higher than this but as of now he has not earned it in my mind. The biggest question I have with him was when Georgia came into Colorado why wasn't he guarding him? It's not like Jalil Brown was getting the job done who gave up 2 TD's including that amazing one in the endzone. Now Smith played well against other teams but I would make him a lot higher if he could shut down A.J. Green. His off the field problems could also lead to his potential fall.

Atlanta Falcons

Record: 13-3

Torrey Smith WR Maryland  The Falcons could really use a down field threat because Roddy White is more of a slot type receiver and not a burner.

Cameron Heyward DE Ohio State  The Pats really need a receiver but yet again one doesn't fall to them so they keep adding players on their DL. I could also some them getting an OLB but I think that Heyward would be too good for them to pass up on this late in the draft. Putting Watt with Heyward next to Vince Wilfork would solidify the Pats new look DL.

Rahim Moore FS UCLA  When Jim Leonhard got hurt last season it devestated the Jets. They need to add depth to the position which is exactly what Moore brings. He should be a great fit in an already great secondary.

  Pittsburgh Steelers

Record: 12-4

Brandon Harris CB Miami  The Steelers really need another CB too put next to Ike Taylor because the Packers now exposed how to beat the Steelers. The Steelers will always be great against the run so attacking them with the pass is the way to go. Harris would make their secondary a lot better and if Ben can stay out of trouble expect them to be contending for another super bowl next season.

  Green Bay Packers

Record: 10-6

Brooks Reed OLB Arizona  The Packers really are picking for BPA because when they are healthy they are the best team in the league. The Packers should look for another pass rusher to pair next to Clay Matthews. Reed should be a great fit and seems like he can move from DE to OLB.

Tell me what you think of my picks and if you don't like them why and who you would want for your team.

Mocking The Draft Pre-Combine Mock

Carolina Panthers

Record: 2-14

Patrick Peterson CB LSU   Now this pick is not the trendy pick but in my opinion it is the right choice. The Panthers are in desperate need of a QB but I'm not ready to put Cam Newton here yet. The best player in this draft is Peterson because a CB who can shut down any size receiver is hard to find let alone a CB who shuts receivers down and is the most dangerous kick/punt returner is too good for anyone to pass on.

Denver Broncos

Record: 4-12

Nick Fairley DT Auburn   Many people expect Fairley to go number 1 so Denver is lucky that he falls to them. He is a great penetrating DT but he is no Ndamukong Suh. Fairley can make a big impact for Denver immediately  but I don't see him as an all-pro immediately. His biggest problem is that sometimes his temper gets in the way and causes him to take dumb penalties but other than that he seems like a sure thing. If he is available expect Denver to take him and continue to rebuild.

Buffalo Bills

Record: 4-12

Cam Newton QB Auburn   I think the Bills are starting to realize that passing on a QB every year is not working. For those who think they can take a Da'quan Bowers and hope for Luck next year would just delay the rebuilding process. This would be the perfect situation for Newton because he wouldn't have to start immediatley and with Spiller and Jackson in the backfield it provides some nice weapons to build around. Newton will start to gain momentum after the combine and the draft so don't be surprised if he goes number one.

Arizona Cardinals

Record: 5-11

Von Miller OLB Texas A&M   This was a tough decision because even though OLB is a big need I don't consider Miller worthy of this high of a pick. I put him here because he is receiving a lot of praise because of his play during the senior bowl and how he finished his season. I think Robert Quinn could warrant this spot if he shines during the interview process at the combine and shows that he is still in great shape. <!-- end team 5 -->

Cleveland Browns

Record: 5-11

Da'Quan Bowers DE Clemson   This is a little fall for Bowers but Cleveland gets the benefit of that. Bowers had a tremendous season leading the NCAA in sacks with 15.5 but only had 4 during his previous two seasons which needs to be a little of a concern. He shows great speed and balance when pressuring the QB and can have a huge impact when he comes into the league. The Browns are in need of a pass rush and with them moving to the 4-3 it makes this a perfect fit.

San Francisco 49ers

Record: 6-10

Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska   The 49ers are tough to figure out because we have no idea what Jim Harbaugh's style will be in the NFL. There is a big need at QB  but I don't think Gabbert is deserving of this pick so I believe they pass. An OLB is a need but I don't think they would pick Quinn here so that leaves the CB position. Amukamara is a very good CB but the only thing I question is his speed. He is a great technician and doesn't allow receivers to have a lot of space which is good but when he does get beat he struggles to get back to the receiver in time to stop the catch. I do think he can succeed in the NFL at the CB and the 49ers will too.

  Tennessee Titans

Record: 6-10

Marcell Dareus DT Alabama   The Titans really need to replace Haynesworth and Dareus gives them the interior pass rusher their DL has been missing. The Titans also need a QB but I believe they will use a veteran QB and look for a QB later in the draft or through free agency. Dareus player 3-4 end at Alabama but has great penetrating skills so he should be able to play the 4-3 DT.

Dallas Cowboys

Record: 6-10

Cameron Jordan DE California   Jordan will be a top 10 pick just like Alualu was last year from Cal. He played great against Oregon and helped stop their incredible offense and actually played 3-4 DE in college so he shouldn't have any problem playing that for the Cowboys. The Cowboys should be looking for OL but their aren't any players worth this high of a pick.

  Washington Redskins

Record: 6-10

Blaine Gabbert QB Missouri   The Redskins once they release McNabb will be looking for a new franchise QB. I think Shanahan has some faith in Grossman so this would be perfect for Gabbert because I believe he will struggle early because of the system he played in. Gabbert to me is a real risk because even though he has all the tools he never really threw the ball deep down field consistently so he will need to adjust to that in the NFL. Also whenever he was pressured out of the pocket he usually made bad mistakes. I hope that teams watch more film on him and realize he is not worth this high of a pick.

  Houston Texans

Record: 6-10

Robert Quinn OLB North Carolina   This would be a perfect fit for Quinn because he wouldn't be relied on as the top pass rusher on his team. With Mario Williams already there Quinn should fit in immediatley and have no trouble adjusting to the NFL. The Texans seem to always have a bad defense but with Quinn, Williams, Cushing, and Ryans at linebacker their defense should only get better.

  Minnesota Vikings

Record:6-10

Tyron Smith OT USC   I believe eventually Smith will be the consensus top OT because of not only his potential but his play on the field. Now the only knock on him is that he played RT in college but he did have a future top 5 pick in Matt Kalil playing their and if he shows that he can play LT at number 12 the Vikings would be dumb to take him.

Detroit Lions

Record: 6-10

Mark Ingram RB Alabama   Now I need to admit I'm biased as a Lions fan but this would be a reasonable pick for them. The Lions top need is at CB but I don't expect Amukamara to last to 13. OLB is a need but I'm not completely sold on Ayers being worth this pick. Other needs are at RG, OC, and RB. I do believe in Jahvid Best but I think he could be better if he was used in a two back system so he doesn't get worn down early in the season. Ingram is the clear cut number 1 back in this class and I think that he is the BPA right here so this would follow the Lions philosophy. If the Lions believe that a CB or LB is worth this pick than pick him but right now I'm not sold so Ingram would be a nice fit.

  St. Louis Rams

Record: 7-9

Julio Jones WR Alabama   The Rams really surprised everyone this year by their play this year and I expect Bradford to take the next step if they can give him some elite weapons. The Rams could also use a DT but I don't think there is anyone worth this pick so they should use this pick on a WR. Julio Jones has great potential but falls to 14 because of some bad drops and potential durability concerns he displayed at Alabama.

Miami Dolphins

Record: 7-9

Aldon Smith OLB Missouri   The Dolphins are tough to figure out because while I'm not a believer in Chad Henne is seems that they will give him another chance to prove himself. The Dolphins would love for Ingram to fall to them because Williams and Brown are on the decline. I gave the Dolphins another pass rusher to put next to Cameron Wake so now when they double Wake it will give Smith a chance to succeed.

  Jacksonville Jaguars

Record: 8-8

Johnathan Baldwin WR Pittsburgh   Baldwin's stock is all over the place. I hear that he could be a top 15 pick and I also hear that he will fall to the 3rd round. I believe the Jags who are desperate for a big time receiver will pick Baldwin hoping he lives up to his potential. A 6'5" receiver who can run a 4.4 40 time is hard to find but when that receiver doesn't always try on every play is when he falls. Baldwin is a risky pick but the Jags took Alualu last year so they are use to risky picks.

New England Patriots (from Oakland)

Record: 14-2

J.J. Watt DE Wisconsin   Watt is a perfect for a 3-4 DE and that is exactly what he will be playing in New England.

  Kansas City Chiefs

Record: 10-6

Justin Houston OLB Georgia   The Chiefs look to be on the way up based on their surprising division title. With a young and improving defense the best thing to do is to add another pass rusher to put next to Tamba Hali. I do have questions about Matt Cassell after the way he ended the season but he had a great regular season so he should only improve.

Record: 7-9

Jake Locker QB Washington   I mostly put this pick because Seattle fans will be very upset if their team which needs a QB passes on the hometown kid whom they've fallen in love with over the past couple of seasons. Now it assumed that Locker had an awful senior year but really his numbers are very similar to his career numbers. His biggest problem is his accuracy which will always be a problem for him because it doesn't come to him naturally like most QB's. I can't see the Seahawks passing on Locker but if they do I expect them to go after a WR or another CB.

Green.

Atlanta Falcons

Record: 13-3

Torrey Smith WR Maryland   The Falcons could really use a down field threat because Roddy White is more of a slot type receiver and not a burner.

Cameron Heyward DE Ohio State   The Pats really need a receiver but yet again one doesn't fall to them so they keep adding players on their DL. I could also some them getting an OLB but I think that Heyward would be too good for them to pass up on this late in the draft. Putting Watt with Heyward next to Vince Wilfork would solidify the Pats new look DL.

  New York Jets

Record: 11-5

Phil Taylor NT Baylor   Kris Jenkins has hurt his knee the past couple of years so it might be time to find his replacement. Taylor is a prototypical NT and takes up space because of his tremendous size. The Jets might also look for a WR if they can't resize Holmes and Edwards.

Ryan Kerrigan OLB Purdue   The Packers really are picking for BPA because when they are healthy they are the best team in the league. The Packers should look for another pass rusher to pair next to Clay Matthews. Kerrigan should be a great fit and seems like he can move from DE and OLB.   Tell me what you think of my picks and if you don't like them why and who you would want for your team.

Pride Of Detroit Worst L of the season

This is by far the worse loss of the season. Now I know it is only half way through but all the hope I had fell the second Stafford did. I actually thought we would make the playoffs if we won this game but all that fell apart. With us at 3-5 and appearing to have easy games the next 2 weeks on the road we would be on a roll going into the thanksgiving game against the Pats. At 5-5 we would crush NE and eventually go into the playoffs. Now maybe I was crazy for thinking that but that's what I was thinking. Now I don't know what to think with Stafford getting hurt on a play where I didn't think anything was wrong until he came up in pain. O well I guess we watch the rest of the season unfold but this is the most deflating loss of the season because all the hope seems gone.

Get Well Matt and hurry back soon we need you. Go Lions!

Mocking The Draft Mock Draft V.1

The order is a possible final order of the teams.

1. Buffalo Bills- Andrew Luck QB Stanford- This team has so many needs right now but a new QB could bring new energy to a team just like Sam Bradford has done for the Rams. Even if Fitzpatrick continues to play well they will still draft/ trade for a QB or they might end up like the 49ers who are stuck with Alex Smith while they could've had Donovan McNabb if they traded one of their first round picks. Anyways Luck could make this team competitive if they surround him with an o-line and the whole team looks so much better.

2. Carolina Panthers- A.J. Green WR Georgia- I don't think they will take a QB because they've invested too much on Clausen to give up on him already and besides nobody else has really earned a #2 overall ranking as a QB. Now AJ Green can provide a perfect complement to Steve Smith and perhaps even be the #1 receiver on this team. With a #1 receiver teams will stop stacking the box with 8 men and give Clausen a chance to play well. Another option would be Robert Quinn who just like Peppers went to North Carolina or my surprise pick in Nick Fairley who has dominated the SEC this year.

3. San Francisco 49ers- Jake Locker QB Washington- What a mess this is turning into. I thought they would win 10 games in the weak NFC West but now this season is looking over. Alex Smith has not improved like they expected and in fact I think he's regressed. Locker hasn't played well this year but has a ton of potential and the 49ers really need a QB and will pick Locker if he is still here.

4. Detroit Lions- Patrick Peterson CB LSU- Now I'm biased because the Lions are my team but this is the perfect scenario for them and a very realistic possibility. They need a true shut down corner to make their devastating pass rush even better. There is no offensive lineman worthy in my mind of being picked in the top 15 so a CB is really the only other position. If Peterson is not here look for them to take Suh's former teammate Prince Amukamara who they might actually like ahead of Peterson.

5. Dallas Cowboys- Nick Fairley DT/DE Auburn- Where do I start with them. The most disappointing team in my mind and it's not even close. This team looks defeated and could really use an influx of talent in a lot of places but I start with the pass rush. Fairley has been dominant this year and is just playing out of his mind as of late. Dallas hasn't had a pass rush outside of Demarcus Ware this year so Fairley should help them a lot as a 3-4 end even though he might be better as a 4-3 DT. If Patrick Peterson is still here they will probably take him just because of his talent and potential and we know how much people like to here about their talent.

6. Cleveland Browns- Robert Quinn DE/OLB North Carolina- The Browns really could use a pass rush in a bad way. I've been surprised by how well Colt McCoy has played this year and I think he will finish the rest of the year as there starter and they will go from there. Although Quinn isn't going to play this year if his work out numbers are as expected and he interviews well his tape shows everything teams need to see he deserves to be picked high in the draft. It worked for Sam Bradford and Dez Bryant so why wouldn't it work for Quinn.

7. Denver Broncos- Marcel Dareus DT/DE Alabama- They Broncos are missing their best pass rusher in Elvis Dumervil but still they need more talent on the defensive line. Dareus has played well this year even though his numbers may not show it. Losing by 45 at home is unacceptable and especially in the way that it happened. This team needs a lot of change and it starts with the D-line.

8. San Diego Chargers- Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska- This was the toughest pick for me because I really don't know a weakness for this team. I mean they will need another receiver when Jackson leaves this summer but Is there anyone other than AJ Green worth a top 10 pick? I went with BPA in Amukamara and he could give them another CB and every team could use more CB's.

9. New England (from OAK) - Allen Bailey DT/DE Miami- They could really use a rush linebacker but I don't see any worth taking here. They could really use a RB but I don't think Mark Ingram is worth taking this high. So this narrows it down to rush end or trade down. I don't predict trades so I gave them Bailey who is a high motor DE who will only improve their pass rush.

10. Minnesota Vikings- Brandon Harris CB Miami- 3 CB's in the top 10 is odd but not for these players. All are top 10 talent and Harris would be the top CB in many years so the Vikings luck into getting him here. The Vikings really need secondary help and that's what they get in Harris. I don't think there is another QB worth taking here because Mallet hasn't had a great year thus far.

11. Cincinati Bengals- DaQuan Bowers DE Clemson- The lack of pass rush is really hurting them this year and Bowers is having a monster year and showing his potential. The Bengals have been a disappointment to many people this year who expected them to contend for a super bowl. Bowers would bring much needed pass rush to a disappointing D-line.

12. Chicago Bears- Anthony Castonzo OT Boston College- The Bears have absolutely no excuse to not take O-line because they have been horrendous this year at blocking. The Bears fooled a lot of people with  their 3-0 start but they are who we thought they were and are now coming down to earth. Cutler may not be an elite QB but isn't even a good QB without protection. They need a receiver also but they cannot and shouldn't take one without O-line help.

13. Jacksonville Jaguars- Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa- I think it's time to give up on Derrick Harvey and move on. Kampman and Tyson Alualu have both played well but they still need more pass rush which is exactly what they get in Clayborn. He hasn't had a great year at all by his standards but he still has immense potential and should help out a struggling Jaguars team. Like I said with the Vikings, I don't believe a QB is worth taking here.

14. Washington Redskins- Julio Jones WR Alabama- With Ryan Torain breaking out this year their need at RB can be addressed later in the draft. A new weapon for McNabb would be a big help and Jones is not only a great receiver but might be an even better blocker. Jones might never have the production because of the offense he's in but still has the skill set needed to play WR at an elite level in the NFL.

15. St. Louis Rams- Jonathan Baldwin WR Pittsburgh- The Rams really need to get help for Bradford whether that's in the draft or in free agency but they need receivers. The Rams have played great this year for the talent they have on the team but are still far away from a legit playoff threat. Baldwin is playing with a first year starter at QB so his numbers are down but still has the potential to be a stud in the NFL.

16. Miami Dolphins- Rahim Moore FS UCLA- The Dolphins CB's have played well this year so with improved safety help they could have a dominant secondary. I believe they will re-sign either Brown or Williams so Mark Ingram isn't in the discussion unless both of them leave. Moore is a ball hawking safety who should fit in well in Miami.

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Mark Ingram RB Alabama- The Bucs have been the biggest surprise in a pleasant way to me. I didn't expect much out of them this year and although they have beaten 4 teams that have a total of 8 wins that's still improvement and the season isn't over yet so I've got to give Josh Freeman and the Bucs props. In Ingram they would provide Freeman and this offense a consistent running game they've been missing. This team could also use a DE but Ingram would be a better value pick at this position in the draft.

18. Kansas City Chiefs- Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame- This is a player that Charlie Weis is quite familiar with and I'm sure he wouldn't mind having him follow him to Kansas City and give Matt Cassel another weapon to throw to. This offensive unit has been up and down all year and it wouldn't hurt to add another playmaker. Floyd is inconsistent but if he ever figures out how to run better routes he will be a good one.

19. Arizona Cardinals- Derek Sherrod OT Mississippi State- I don't quite understand this team. They beat the world champion Saints at home without scoring a rushing/passing TD. I mean they are so desperate for a QB they are starting an UNDRAFTED rookie QB in Max Hall. I mean he went undrafted for a reason. They play better at home so they will probably win 7-8 games but they are definitely not that good. Anyways they believe in Hall so I guess they will move forward with him so they must provide protection. Sherrod could play either LT or RT because Levi Brown is a RT they will play him at LT and give Hall a chance to succeed.

20. Seattle Seahawks- Aaron Williams CB Texas- Williams would be a good addition to a young and improving secondary. Earl Thomas is looking like a stud at safety and adding another stud corner would only make him even better. This team will probably win the division but it seems like it will be by default.

21. Tennessee Titans- Travis Lewis OLB Oklahoma- This no name defense is starting to make a name for itself. Their pass rush is devastating so adding a BPA in Lewis would be a smart decision. I think this team is a serious playoff contender already and it needs Vince Young to improve if they want to be elite.  Lewis will be an excellent addition to an excellent team.

22. Indianapolis Colts- Rodney Hudson OG Florida State- This Colts team is hard to figure out because they haven't played consistent all year but managed a 4-2 record going into the bye. They've been hit with many injuries especially on the offensive side of the ball. Peyton may be tremendous he needs protection to pick apart defenses and that's what they get in Hudson who is an excellent and disciplined blocker.

23. New Orleans Saints- Bruce Carter OLB North Carolina- The Saints haven't played to their potential this year and are still in the playoff hunt which could be scary to a lot of teams. They are lacking their spark on defense because they created so many turnovers last year and Carter can provide them that.

24. Baltimore Ravens- Janoris Jenkins CB Florida- This secondary even with a healthy Ed Reed got carved up by Buffalo. They need young Corners to stay with other teams top receivers if they ever plan on getting to that super bowl level which they may actually be at now. Jenkins has tough tasks every week in the SEC and it seems like he has played well enough to earn a first round draft slot.

25. Green Bay Packers- Von Miller OLB Texas A&M- This team has been devastated by injuries to a lot of their key players this year and are still a contender. They do need a pass rush outside of Clay Matthews and Miller brings exactly that. Another strong player to a potentially dominant team.

26. Houston Texans- Greg Jones LB Michigan State- With the Injury to Demeco Ryans it will really test the LB depth for the Texans. With Jones it brings starting to talent to an already good LB crew and he could possibly be a starter next to Ryans and Cushing next year. Jones is leading a cinderella Michigan State team right now which shows how important of a player he is.

27. Philadelphia Eagles- Gabe Carimi OT/OG Wisconsin- Now the Eagles may have a great team but their o-line isn't good at all. They need better pass protection for whatever QB they have because a QB can only take so many hits. Carimi could be a dominant RT or could be an excellent OG depending on how they use him but he should be the pick.

28. New England Patriots- Jeremy Beal DE/OLB Oklahoma- They really need some pass rush and Beal gives them some. With Bailey and Beal they have utilized their top draft picks on some very important positions of need. They do need a running back but with Carolina's 2nd round pick, they should be able to get one in a few picks.

29. Atlanta Falcons- Akeem Ayers LB UCLA- The Falcons are starting to look like super bowl contenders now but still are a few pieces away. Ayers would help this linebacking core in run support and also brings pass rush. This Falcons team could also use another receiver for Matt Ryan to throw to but there aren't any available here worth taking.

30. New York Jets- Ryan Broyles- The Jets have been playing dominant as of late and really have every position taken. They will need another receiver because Edwards will not be back next year so Broyles could become a good safety valve for the improving Mark Sanchez. Don't be surprised to see them in the AFC title game again and this time they might actually win it.

31. New York Giants- Kyle Rudolph TE Notre Dame- The Giants really don't have any glaring needs except maybe MLB but I didn't want to reach so did BPA with Rudolph. Add Rudolph to this receiving corps which already has a good TE in Boss makes this offense even more dangerous. Rudolph is out for the year but if he returns healthy by draft time, he is a first round talent.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers- Ryan Kerrigan DE Purdue- With Aaron Smith getting older and now probably out for the year, this shows that Pittsburgh needs to start looking for his successor and Kerrigan could be him. Pittsburgh has been pretty dominant even without Ben this year and now are looking poised for a super bowl run.

Tell me what you think about this mock and if you would change any pick which would it be and why.

Pride Of Detroit Lions sign SUH!!!!!

Pride Of Detroit My Overall Draft Grade

Now this draft is extremely different than last year in my opinion because after the draft I gave the Lions a C which now needs to be transferred to an A because all the players they drafted are now contributing.

1st round- Ndamukong Suh- I have agreed with this pick every since December and he is the best player in the draft at a position of need so theres no arguing needed. All pro caliber player and All Pro caliber human being which is nice to have because usually coming out of college players are selfish but this guy cares about his old school enough to donate 2.6 million dollars which shows the type of person he is. A+

1st round- Jahvid Best- Now at the time of the pick I was a little disappointed because Kyle Wilson was falling throughtout the draft and for him to go 29th and we picked 30th disappointed me. But the more I think about it Jahvid Best is a good pick because he brings them an explosive back and a pass catching running back which can be extremely helpful to Matt Stafford's development. A-

3rd round- Amari Spievey- Now after getting over not getting Kyle Wilson I was excited about the pick because CB is our biggest need and this kid was a great corner in the big ten. I do believe we will get another CB in free agency but he is a good start and could start for us for a long time. A

4th round- Jason Fox- Now most people new that after skipping on an OT in round 1 we would be looking to draft one later in the draft and that is what we did. Jason Fox at the beginning of the year was graded as a higher round prospect and while having a few injuries having us fall to us in the 4th round could eventually become a steal. B+

7th round- Wille Young- Now im not going to criticize or praise this pick because honestly ive never seen him play. I've heard that he could make the roster which is why I cannot grade this pick. Incomplete

7th round- Tim Toone- Read Willie Young. Incomplete

Now overall I will give the Lions an A- because they adressed all their major needs with all their picks and free agent acquisitions though after the Fox pick they had to wait a long time to pick again which might be something they regret. A player that I was targeting in the 4th round range was Resahd Jones SS Georgia whom I would have like to see the Lions trade maybe a 6th next season and a 7th this year to get into the middle of the fifth round and take him.

Overall though I can't complain because the Lions have gotten a lot better and i'm going to trust that the front office did their work as they did last year so that these draft picks can produce on the field.

Mocking The Draft Final Mock

St. Louis Rams

Record: 1-15

1st- St. Lois Rams- Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma- This pick has been locked up for a long time and barring any ridiculous trade offer for this pick the rams will be selecting Sam Bradford here. He is the smartest pick because he is their biggest need in QB and the franchise needs a franchise QB if they ever want to be competitive again. I believe he is the best QB in the draft and will help bring the Rams back to respectability.

Other Options: None really except trade back with a monster offer.

Detroit Lions

Record: 2-14

2nd- Detroit Lions- Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraksa- Nothing more need be said. While being a Lions fan there is no other player that should go here or will go here because he is the BPA at a position of need. Suh is the best prospect to come out in a long long time. He can become better than Haynesworth was with Schwartz in Tennessee because his true passion for the game and overall skill set.

Other Options; If Suh is somehow gone trade back or Berry.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Record: 3-13

3rd- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma- I believe that McCoy is actually a better fit in Tampa who really needs to get pass rush. I've seen that Bucs fans really like Suh and I can’t blame them but I think that McCoy would be a better choice because he can remind them of the days of Warren Sapp.

Other Options: Berry could be an option but highly unlikely in my mind.

Washington Redskins

Record: 4-12

4th- Washington Redskins- Trent Williams OT Oklahoma- Now I believe the Russell Okung is a better OT prospect but I believe they will grab Williams because I expect the Skins to eventually sign Flozell Adams and Williams can be dominate at RT and perhaps he could eventually become their LT of the future over time.

Other Options: Russell Okung, Eric Berry, Trade down.

Kansas City Chiefs

Record: 4-12

5th- Kansas City Chiefs- Eric Berry S Tennessee- This was one of the most difficult picks for me because Todd Haley values positional value over BPA which is why I thought McClain was a logical choice here but it seems unlikely that that happens. I've seen Bryan Bulaga here but it makes little sense to me because they signed LG Ryan Lilja over the off-season so that takes away the options of moving Albert to LG which in my mind takes away the options of a LT here. I think the Chiefs will trade down from this spot but if they don’t they need to go Berry here because he can have an extreme impact on their defense.

Other Options: Russell Okung, Rolando McClain, Bryan Bulaga, or trade down.

Seattle Seahawks

Record: 5-11

6th- Seattle Seahawks- Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State- This is an ideal pick for the Seahawks because they really could use a LT to replace Walter Jones and Okung would be the best pick. He is an ideal LT in this league and will transition easily to the NFL.

Other Options: Trade down.

Cleveland Browns

Record: 5-11

7th- Cleveland Browns- Earl Thomas S Texas- I don’t believe the Browns will be picking here because I think they will either trade up for Berry or trade down. If they do stay here though I expect them to grab the next best Safety in Earl Thomas. A ball hawking safety would be a great fit in an improved secondary in Cleveland.

Other Options: Trade up for Berry, Trade down, Dez Bryant.

Oakland Raiders

Record: 5-11

8th- Oakland Raiders-  Mike Iupati OG Idaho- Who really knows what the Raiders are going to do but I've narrowed it down to only a few players in my mind. It could either be Iupati, Bruce Campbell, Taylor Mays, Jason Pierre-Paul or he could take Tim Tebow to create even more buzz about the Raiders. Iupati is a very good player though but while playing at OG his value is not in the top ten.

Other Options: Listed above.

Record: 5-11

9th- Buffalo Bills- Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa- I’ve had Bulaga to the Bills for a while now and I'm not changing my mind. They really need an OT and shouldn’t pick Clausen because he is a California QB and they don’t do well in cold weather places, I.E. Mark Sanchez in New York.

Other Options: Dan Williams, C.J. Spiller.

 Jacksonville Jaguars**

Record: 7-9

10th- Jacksonville Jaguars- C.J. Spiller RB Clemson- A somewhat of a surprise pick because they already have a pro bowl running back in MJD but could really use a home run hitter on offense. Spiller is that type of player and a dominate two back system can only helps Garrard and all of Jacksonville’s offense.

Other Options: Joe Haden, trade back for Tim Tebow.

Record: 8-8

11th- Denver Broncos- Maurkice Pouncey C Florida- Another surprise pick but can be extremely helpful for Denver. While they need help all over the offense with recent trades I don’t believe Dez Bryant would be a good fit here so they go with Pouncey which might be a reach at 11 but if they trade down to far he could be gone so if they really like him they should pick him at 11.

Other Options: Rolando McClain, Joe Haden.

Miami Dolphins

Record: 7-9

12th- Miami Dolphins- Dan Williams DT Tennessee- This pick could also be a pass rusher such as Derek Morgan but I think a DT is their biggest need right now with the suspension of Ferguson for the first half of the season and a DT would be a smart pick by Bill Parcells and the Dolphins.

Other Options: Rolando McClain, Derrick Morgan, Brandon Graham.

 San Francisco 49ers

Record: 8-8

13th- San Francisco 49ers- Joe Haden CB Florida- Haden falls a little bit based off of the other teams picking ahead of them and because of the depth in this draft. Haden is a great shutdown corner and the 49ers are lucky to get a great corner in the teens with this pick. I think Clausen could be the pick but I doubt they would pick him over Haden.

Other Options: Jimmy Clausen, Anthony Davis.

Seattle Seahawks (from 8-8 Denver)

Record: 5-11

14th- Seattle Seahawks- Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech- The Seahawks address in my mind their two biggest needs in an OT and a DE with their 2 first round picks. Morgan would be a great fit in a 4-3 defense and that’s what Pete Carroll runs in Seattle. I think Clausen is a serious option if he falls here but they have too much invested in Hasselbeck and they spent 5 mil a year and a draft pick for Whitehurst so that makes Clausen less likely.

Other Options: Dez Bryant., Jimmy Clausen, Brandon Graham.

New York Giants

Record: 8-8

15th- New York Giants- Rolando McClain LB Alabama- The Giants have a huge hole at MLB and even though I feel McClain would do better in a 3-4 I think he can still be great in a 4-3 as a MLB. The MLB position is the Giants biggest need and they get the best LB in the entire draft to start for them.

Other Options: Trade down to pick Sean Weatherspoon.

16th- Tennessee Titans- Jason Pierre-Paul DE USF- With VandenBosch now gone the Titans are in need of Pass Rush. I think Pierre-Paul would be a perfect project for Jeff Fisher to be with because he would get the most out of him. He is probably the biggest boom or bust pick in this entire draft.

Other Options: Kyle Wilson, Brandon Graham.

San Francisco** (from 8-8 Carolina)

Record: 8-8

17th- San Francisco 49ers- Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame- I think if Clausen falls this fall the 49ers would be dumb to pass on him. I am not a big fan of Jimmy Clausen but I do believe he is a better player than Alex Smith which would make him worthy of this pick.

Other Options: Anthony Davis.

Record: 8-8

Pittsburgh Steelers

Record: 9-7

18th- Pittsburgh Steelers- Kyle Wilson CB Boise State- This was a difficult pick for me to decide because the Steelers could use a safety but I don't believe they would take Mays. Wilson is a good CB and seems like a tough player who would fit perfectly in Pittsburgh. He has been moving up since the Senior Bowl and I think that he could fit perfectly next to Ike Taylor.

Other Options: Trade up for an OG/C, Dez Bryant.

Atlanta Falcons**

Record: 9-7

19th- Atlanta Falcons- Brandon Graham DE/OLB Michigan- The Falcons really lacked pass rush last season and Graham could be a great fit in Atlanta. Another option would be Derrick Morgan if he fell down to them here. I think this would be a reach if they picked Demariyous Thomas at this spot.

Other Options: Trade down, Sean Weatherspoon.

Houston Texans**

Record: 9-7

20th- Houston Texans- Kareem Jackson CB Alabama- Houston definitely needs to address their secondary in this draft with the loss of Dunta Robinson. This pick could easily be Ryan Matthews with the Texans needing a RB but at this point I think they go with the best CB available and that is Jackson.

Other Options: Dez Bryant, Ryan Matthews, Devin McCourtey.

Cincinnati Bengals

Record:10-6

21st- Cincinnati Bengals- Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma- The Bengals have been lacking a quality TE for a long time now and its time to pick one up. Gresham was a top 10 pick last year if he came out so he falls a little in this years draft but the Bengals get an all around TE at 21.

Other Options: Taylor Mays, Dez Bryant.

New England Patriots

Record: 10-6

22nd- New England Patriots- Jared Odrick DE/DT Penn State- The Patriots really lacked a pass rush last season and they could really use a replacement for Seymour which could be Odrick. With all of the picks the Patriots have in this years draft they could become a contender again next season.

Other Options: Sergio Kindle, Jerry Hughes, any other pass rusher.

Green Bay Packers

Record: 11-5

23rd- Green Bay Packers- Jerry Hughes OLB TCU- The packers had a bad O-line last season but gradually improved over the length of the season which leads me to believe that they would go with defense. An OLB to pair with Matthews would only make the Packers a better team and a super bowl contender.

Other Options: Charles Brown, Roger Saffold, Devin McCourtey, Sergio Kindle.

Philadelphia Eagles

Record: 11-5

24th- Philadelphia Eagles- Taylor Mays S USC-  I believe that the Eagles will trade up to get one of the top 2 safeties but I don’t predict trades so they get the next best safety. Mays is a great physical specimen who has all the tools to be a great player in the league. If the Eagles do stay here I believe that they will go with Mays.

Other Options: Everson Griffen, trade up.

Baltimore Ravens

Record: 9-7

25th- Baltimore Ravens- Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State- Even with the additions of Boldin and Stallworth I think the Ravens should add another WR for the future. Bryant falls pretty far based on missing most of the season which worries some teams. I do believe this is a good long term investment for the ravens because Bryant can learn from one of the best in Anquan Boldin.

Other Options: trade down, Devin McCourtey.

Arizona Cardinals

Record: 10-6

26th- Arizona Cardinals- Sergio Kindle OLB Texas- The cardinals have lost a lot of good players during this off season and it will be hard to replace them but Kindle will be a good start. An OLB to pair with Porter can provide the Cardinals with a good pass rush to improve their defense.

Other Options: Trade up for McClain, Devin McCourtey.

Dallas Cowboys

Record: 11-5

27th- Dallas Cowboys- Anthony Davis OT Rutgers- A OT to replace Flozell will be the Cowboys biggest priority in this draft because they aren’t that far away from a super bowl. Davis is talented but character issues causes him to fall a little in my mock draft.

Other Options: trade down, trade up for one of the top 2 safeties or Dez Bryant.

San Diego Chargers

Record: 13-3

28th- San Diego Chargers- Ryan Matthews RB Fresno State- With the departure of LT and no true number 1 back the Chargers need to draft one. They could trade up so they could drat Spiller but Matthews represents good value in this spot in the draft so they should take him if he is here. Matthews seems like an every down back in this league and at the end of the first round he could be a steal.

Other Options: trade up for Spiller, Terrence Cody.

New York Jets

Record: 9-7

29th- New York Jets- Demariyous Thomas WR Georgia Tech- I am not a fan of Mark Sanchez but I need to give them credit for getting all the way to the AFC championship game. The only way Sanchez can improve along with this team is to get him weapons and what better to give a young QB than a WR that he can grow with and Demariyous Thomas is a great blocking WR which is valuable because of the Jets dominate running game and he did average about 25.0 yards a catch which shows himself as being a deep threat.

Other Options: Trade up for Iupati, trade up for a pass rusher.

Minnesota Vikings

Record: 12-4

30th- Minnesota Vikings- Devin McCourtey CB Rutgers- Even though the Vikings recently signed Lito Shepard I still believe they go CB. Antoine Winfield is getting older and with Cedric Griffen's status uncertain it is probably best to grab the a few CB's this off-season to help shore up their secondary. If Clausen falls into the 20's the Vikings need to give him a look.

Other Options: Trade up for Clausen, Trade up for O-line.

Indianapolis Colts

Record: 14-2

31st- Indianapolis Colts- Roger Saffold OT Indiana- With Bill Polian stating that he wants to fix the O-line I have a feeling that this pick with be an OT and Saffold seems to fit with the Colts. The Colts seem to like drafting Big Ten players and Saffold can come in and either play LT or LG to help protect Peyton Manning.

Other Options: Trade down, Charles Brown.

New Orleans Saints

Record: 13-3

32nd- Who DAT New Orleans Saints- Sean Weatherspoon OLB Missouri- Super Bowl champion Saints get a LB to replace Scott Fujita who went to Cleveland over the off-season. The Saints will be a contender again next year as soon as they resign Sharper because they are pretty much the same team as last season.

Other Options: Charles Brown, trade down.

I do believe that Tim Tebow will be in the first round but it will be via trade and I don’t predict trades but I expect either Buffalo or Denver to trade up into the first round if Jacksonville doesn’t trade down with their first round pick to take him.

Comment on any picks you liked, didn't like or picks that were so bad that they should be completely erased from my mind.

Pride Of Detroit A Possible Draft Scenario

This is my favorite mock that I've seen with trades included.

1st round- Ndamukong Suh DT- The obvious pick here. With the biggest need being secondary and no player worth drafting this high the Lions go with their second biggest need which is pass rush. I dont believe Okung will be the pick because of few reasons: He isnt the BPA, He dosen't seem to be an elite type of OT, and He wouldnt make as big of a difference as Suh would. Suh has to be the pick because if he is not the Lions are making a gigantic mistake.

2nd round- Trade for LT Jared Gaither- The only players I would want to draft here would  be Kyle Wilson and Devin McCourtey but they seem unlikely to be here so why not trade this pick for a high level proven LT. Gaither might not be the best LT in the game but he is pretty close to that level. This would fill a need and it would be a MUCH MUCH better solution than drafting Okung who is unproven. Two of the biggest needs are taken care of in the first two rounds of the draft and the Lions roster looks a whole lot better.

3rd round- Montario Hardesty RB- The RB situation is unclear right now so why not address this position with a RB with some potential. Hardesty might be a one year wonder but I think he is worth the pick in the 3rd round. Maybe if a secondary player slips this far and the Lions are high on him they could draft him but I think Hardesty is most likely going to be available here so he could be a good pick.

4th round- Larry Asante SS- Another Nebraska player to go to the Lions and a guy who can play next to Delmas. I think he is underatted because he seems like a 2nd round prospect  to me and i've seen him going in the late 5th so I think he would be good here. If the Lions dont trade for Gaither they should trade this pick for G Rob Sims who could help solidify the O-Line.

5th round- Riley Cooper WR- Now I understand that WR isnt a huge need but I think he can be a great player especially now that he is concentrated on football only instead of also baseball. Most people believe the Aaron Hernandez was their best receiver but it was Cooper who emerged as a serious deep threat and he could possibly be our 3rd receiver and do a great job of giving Stafford more weapons.

7th round- A.J. Jefferson CB Fresno State- I understand that they would probably like to take a CB earlier than this but they shouldnt reach for a CB and I think Jefferson has a chance to make the team and could possibly earn some playing time.

7th round Mr. Irrelevant- Trindon Holliday- Fast guy who can possibly help a little in the KR and PR game and that could be useful for a guy who is the last pick in the draft.

Tell me what you think about the picks and if you would change anything or if it is perfect and the Lions would want this draft as much as I do.

Mocking The Draft Post Combine/ Free Agency Mock

St. Louis Rams

Record: 1-15

1st- St. Lois Rams- Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma- While being a Lions fan I was hoping Bradford would leave last year so they could draft him. Unfortunatley he stayed an extra year. After he stayed I was not in favor of drafting Stafford but looking now it was the right decision. When a team is drafting number 1 they usually have QB problems and St. Louis is no different. The Rams cannot keep taking the safe pick because it isnt working. For the argument that Spanoulo is a defensive coach meaning he is going to drat a defensive player is totally mistaken because  Jim Schwartz, Rex Ryan, and Rahim Morris were all rookie defensive coaches and all drafted QB's in the first round last year. Bradford has been flying up boards because of his weight increase and after his pro day this pick should not even be a discussion. Bradford will be the first pick to the Rams because its the right decision for their franchise.

Previously: Sam Bradford

Detroit Lions

Record: 2-14

2nd- Detroit Lions- Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraksa-  Even with the Lions signings and recent trades I believe Suh is still the pick. They have already stated they will draft BPA so I believe it is between Suh and McCoy. I understand that they need O-Line help but with the possibility of adding Suh to that D-line Schwartz and company will not be able to resist him and grab him without hesitating. The Lions are rumored to be looking to trade down but with Bradford gone I don't believe anybody will trade up for Clausen so that leaves the Lions with Suh.

Previously: Ndamukong Suh

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Record: 3-13

3rd- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma- Tampa would prefer Suh because he is probably the better fit for them but McCoy is a good consolation prize. Tampa could look to trade with St. Louis so they can get Suh but I don't think the Bucs are in a position to trade up and besides McCoy is a good consolation prize for whoever dosen't land Suh.

Previously: Gerald McCoy

Washington Redskins

Record: 4-12

4th- Washington Redskins- Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State- With new regime change usually means drafting a QB but I just don't feel Jimmy Clausen is worth the pick with such a need at offensive tackle. They have already tendered Campbell so it looks like he will be on their team next year so I think they give him a shot at QB with better protection to see if he can be a franchise QB.

Previously: Russell Okung

Kansas City Chiefs

Record: 4-12

5th- Kansas City Chiefs- Rolando McClain LB Alabama - Now this is another ideal trade spot for someone looking either Clausen or Berry. The Chiefs didn't have a good O-line but it was improving towards the end of the season so I don't believe they will draft a tackle. They could look at Berry but the more I think about it, a safety dosen't seem to be worth a top 5 pick even with the kind of talent and potential Berry brings. Last year the Chiefs drafted positional value of Talent so I think they pass on Berry for someone like McClain who can become the leader of their defense just like he was the leader at Alabama.

Previously: Rolando McClain

Seattle Seahawks

Record: 5-11

6th- Seattle Seahawks- Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame- Just like Washington, new coach means new QB and in this case the Seahawks grab a QB. The Seahawks are looking to sign Brandon Marshall but I think if they get him they will only give up pick #14 and not #6. If they sign Marshall this pick will definetly be Clausen so he can have a number 1 receiver to throw to. The Seahawks can adress the O-line in a later round.

Previously: Eric Berry

Cleveland Browns

Record: 5-11

7th- Cleveland Browns- Joe Haden CB Florida- Even with Haden running a 4.6 at the combine I don't think that will mean much in his draft stock. He has a chance at his pro day to redeem himself but I think Cleveland still needs to address their secondary and with Haden and Wright they can have a good young secondary.

Previously: Joe Haden

Oakland Raiders

Record: 5-11

8th- Oakland Raiders-  Bruce Campbell OT Maryland- The unpredictable Raiders will select the man who might have helped his stock the most at the combine. He is not worthy of a top 10 pick with his play but neither was Heyward- Bey but they drafted him in the top 10 last year. This pick could easily  be Taylor Mays who unofficialy ran a 4.24 which had to open the eyes of Al Davis.

Previously: Carlos Dunlap

Record: 5-11

9th- Buffalo Bills- Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa-  Buffalo has a tough decision with Berry still on the board but they are deperate for some O-Line and they grab the 2nd best one in the draft. Bulaga has small arms but the most important thing to look at is his tape and the tape dosen't lie and he is a top10 talent.

Previously: Bryan Bulaga

Jacksonville Jaguars**

Record: 7-9

10th- Jacksonville Jaguars- Eric Berry S Tennessee- With the addition of Aaron Kampman I think the Jaguars have addressed their pass rush. Now the Jaguars could use a game changing Safety in Berry. Berry proably won't fall this far in the real draft but in mine he does because safety isn't as important as some other positions which causes his fall. Jaguars waste no time selecting Berry.

Previously: Derrick Morgan

Record: 8-8

11th- Denver Broncos- Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State- With Brandon Marshall's future uncertain they will need to address the WR eventually in the draft and why not select the best one available. Bryant could have been in the top 10 if he played the entire season but will fall just a little bit and the Broncos will decide he is the best thing for their franchise.

Previously: Jimmy Clausen

Miami Dolphins

Record: 7-9

12th- Miami Dolphins- Earl Thomas S Texas- With the signing and Karlos Dansy and the release of S Gibril Wilson the Dolphins need a new safety. Thomas is the type of ball hawking safety which may cause him to fly up draft boards. The Dolphins biggest need is WR but with Bryant off the board they will take a safety to help their defense.

Previously: Dez Bryant

San Francisco 49ers

Record: 8-8

13th- San Fransisco 49ers- Trent Williams OT Oklahoma- Their biggest need is probably RT and Williams will be perfect for them here. Williams might have the possibility to play LT but he is more comfortable on the right side and he could be a pro bowl caliber player on the right side.

Previously: Trent Williams

Seattle Seahawks (from 8-8 Denver)

Record: 5-11

14th- Seattle Seahawks- Anthony Davis OT Rutgers- If the Seahawks are still picking here I believe they must take a tackle. Davis is the best tackle still available so this would be the pick. I don't believe the Seahawks will keep this pick because of thier interest in Marshall but for now they get Davis.

Previously: Anthony Davis

New York Giants

Record: 8-8

15th- New York Giants- Brian Price DT UCLA- With the signing of Antrel Rolle the Giants aren't in need of a safety anymore. Price would be a good fit because of the need of a penetrating DT. The Giants would love McClain to fall to them because the they need a MLB with the release of Pierce.

Previously: Earl Thomas

San Francisco** (from 8-8 Carolina)

Record: 8-8

16th- San Fransisco 49ers- C.J. Spiller RB Clemson- Spiller definetly earned a spot in the top part of the first round with the 40 time he ran at the combine. I wouldn't be suprised to see a team trade up for him because a team like San Diego could really use him. Spiller would add nice depth and versatility to the 49ers because of his ability to kick return and punt return.

Previously: C.J. Spiller

Record: 8-8

17th- Tennesse Titans- Jason Pierre-Paul DE USF- With VandenBosch now gone the Titans are in need of Pass Rush. Morgan and Pieere-Paul are widely considered the best Defensive Ends in the draft and that is exactly what the Titans need. Pierre-Paul has more potential which is why he would be the pick.

Previously: Jason Pierre-Paul

Pittsburgh Steelers

Record: 9-7

18th- Pittsburgh Steelers- Kyle Wilson CB Boise State- This was a difficult pick for me to decide because the Steelers could use a safety but I don't believe they would take Mays. Wilson is a good CB and seems like a tough player who would fit perfectly in Pittsburgh.

Previously: Brian Price

Atlanta Falcons**

Record: 9-7

19th- Atlanta Falcons- Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech- With the signing of Dunta Robinson I don't believe the Falcons need to address the CB this high in the draft so they draft their hometown kid who actually fills a need. Morgan is considered the best DE in this draft but falls a little from what I have seen and what better for him to go to his hometown in Atlanta.

Previously: Kyle Wilson

Houston Texans**

Record: 9-7

20th- Houston Texans- Kareem Jackson CB Alabama- Houston definetly needs to address their secondary in this draft with the loss of Dunta Robinson. This might be a slight reach for Jackson which means that Houston could be looking to trade down but Jackson is still a good corner and was tested every week while playing in the tough SEC.

Previously: Kareem Jackson

Cincinnati Bengals

Record:10-6

21st- Cincinati Bengals- Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma- Even if the Bengals sign T.O. they need more receivers so Palmer can have more success. What is better for a QB than to have a great pass catching TE. Gresham had a good combine and should be even better at his pro day which is why he will be drafted in the first round.

Previously: Jermaine Gresham

New England Patriots

Record: 10-6

22nd- New England Patroits- Brandon Graham DE/OLB Michigan- He is a prototypical 3-4 OLB and thats what the Patriots are known for producing. Graham just seems like the type of player that is going to flurish in New England. The Patriots didn't address pass rush in free agency so they will draft someone who can fill that need.

Previously: Brandom Graham

Green Bay Packers

Record: 11-5

23rd- Green Bay Packers- Charles Brown OT USC- With a good combine I believe Brown has solidified himself a spot in the first round. Green Bay did resign Clifton but their O-Line struggled for most of the season so I don't think they will take any chances of Rodgers getting hurt so they will get someone to protect him.

Previously: Charles Brown

Philadelphia Eagles

Record: 11-5

24th- Philadelphia Eagles- Taylor Mays S USC- Mays had a fantastic combine and could be drafted by the Raiders because of his great combine. The Eagles have been looking for a safety to replace Dawkins and Mays could be that guy. They could use pass rush but Mays might be too good for them to pass up.

Previously: Everson Griffen

Baltimore Ravens

Record: 9-7

25th- Baltimore Ravens- Everson Griffen DE USC- With the trade for Anquan Boldin they have addressed their WR need so I believe they will go with the defense. A DE like Griffen could be drafted higher in the first round so Baltimore would be smart to pick him up here.

Previously: Arrelious Benn

Arizona Cardinals

Record: 10-6

26th- Arizona Cardinals- Dan Williams DT Tennessee- The Cardinals have lost 4 pro bowlers this off season which is tough for any team. Now the would need to draft a LB but I think they will address that in free agency. The Cardinals could also use an OT but their dosen't seem to be any worth reaching for at this point in the draft so they go with Williams who should help them against the run.

Previously: Bruce Campbell

Dallas Cowboys

Record: 11-5

27th- Dallas Cowboys- Mike Iupati OG Idaho- Dallas could also use a new LT with the aging Flozell Adams not playing as well. Iupati is a great OG who could eventually play OT but will need time to grow into that position. Dallas could look to trade down to get more picks but Iupati seems to be a good fit in this spot in the draft.

Previously: Mike Iupati

San Diego Chargers

Record: 13-3

28th- San Diego Chargers- Ryan Matthews RB Fresno State- With the departure of LT and no true number 1 back the Chargers need to draft one. They could trade up so they could drat Spiller but Matthews represents good value in this spot in the draft so they should take him if he is here.

Previously: Ryan Matthews

New York Jets

Record: 9-7

29th- New York Jets- Damian WIlliams WR USC- I am not a fan of Mark Sanchez but I need to give them credit for getting all the way to the AFC championship game. The only way Sanchez can improve along with this team is to get him weapons and what better to give a young QB than a WR that he is familiar with and that's what Williams brings to the table.

Previously: Damian Williams

Minnesota Vikings

Record: 12-4

30th- Minnesota Vikings- Jared Odrick DT Penn State- After Brandon Spikes decided not to run at the combine it rises questions about how fast he really is which may cause some teams to think twice about drating him. The vikes should drat a DT to eventually replace the aging Pat Williams who considered retiring after this season which means Minnesota should find his replacement as soon as they can before it's too late.

Previously: Brandon Spikes

Indianapolis Colts

Record: 14-2

31st- Indianapolis Colts- Devin McCourty CB Rutgers- With the soon to be departure of CB Marlin Jackson the Colts could use another CB and that means that they could take the fast rising McCourty. His performance at the combine makes him a fringe first rounder and that is good for the Colts because he falls into their lap and he is a position of need for the Colts. The could look for O-line help but I don't think they will reach for someone.

Previously: Jared Odrick

New Orleans Saints

Record: 13-3

32nd- Who DAT New Orleans Saints- Sean Weatherspoon OLB Missouri- Weatherspoon showed at the combine that he has a great personality and his skills match his personality. He seems to be the perfect player to play in New Orlenas becaue New Orelans is a fun loving city that should immediatly embrace Weatherspoon. He could go higher but I think he might fall because of the talent in this draft.

Previously: Sean Weatherspoon

Mocking The Draft Pre-Combine Mock

St.

This choice is between Bradford and Clausen and the only reason I have Bradford above Clausen is because I belive he is the better QB and better fit but either QB must be picked by the Rams if they ever want to have a superbowl caliber team again.

Detroit Lions

Record: 2-14

2nd- Detroit Lions- Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraksa- Now most people are going to say I'm biased by putting Suh here  but I was seriously considering Gerald McCoy. I belive McCoy is the better fit for the Lions because he is a better pass rusher and because Schwartz does not blitz means they need a more of a pass rushing DT than an overall balanced one. Know matter which DT they choose they cannot lose because both of the DT's are special talents.

Louis so they can get Suh but I do not predict trades so I'm going to stick with McCoy.

Washington Redskins

Record: 4-12

4th- Washington Redskins- Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State- Now after watching Washington get embarassed by the Giants I realized they need so much O-Line if Campbell is ever going to succeed. Okung isnt the sexy pick but is going to be a great LT of the future and Campbell's new BFF.

Kansas City Chiefs

Record: 4-12

5th- Kansas City Chiefs- Rolando McClain LB Alabama - Now this is another ideal trade spot for someone looking either Clausen or Berry. I believe the Chiefs need line help but last year they showed they dont always draft the BPA on their board. McClain will be a great fit in KC under new DC Romeo Crennel.

Seattle Seahawks

Record: 5-11

6th- Seattle Seahawks- Eric Berry S Tennesse- What a great talent that falls into Seattle's lap at number 6. There are higher needs for the seahawks but they dont pass up on a talent like berry.

Cleveland Browns

Record: 5-11

7th- Cleveland Browns- Joe Haden CB Florida- I think they will give Quinn another year and will decide to go CB in the first round. They need a lot of help on defense and Haden should certainly help.

Oakland Raiders

Record: 5-11

8th- Oakland Raiders- Carlos Dunalp DE Florida- This pick will probably change to Taylor Mays after the combine but for now I will keep this at Dunlap. He is some what overrated but is becoming considered so overrated that he is actually becoming underrated.

Buffalo Bills

Record: 5-11

9th- Buffalo Bills- Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa- This pick could easily be Clausen but they need line help to much to pass on a potential LT Bulaga. They will give Edwards another shot to keep his job at QB.

Jacksonville Jaguars**

Record: 7-9

10th- Jacksonville Jaguars- Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech- They need pass rush bad and will get the best one in the draft. They could consider Clausen if Del Rio's word means a lot because he is not high on pro bowler Garrard but they need to address the defense before the offense.

Denver Broncos** (from 7-9 Chicago)

Record: 8-8

11th- Denver Broncos- Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame- This is as far as his some what fall in this draft will come. He has been mocked everywhere from St. Louis to the 2nd round but I think Denver will pull the plug. I believe Marshall and Dumervill will both be gone as the demise of McDaniels will continue but they cannot rely on Orton because he will not win you games. They can adress WR in the later rounds.

Miami Dolphins

Record: 7-9

12th- Miami Dolphins- Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State- I understand Parcells usually goes defense but he shouldn't reach for a DT or LB when a top 10 talent in WR(there biggest need) has fallen into their laps. They probably will go defense but in this mock I think WR is the biggest help.

San Francisco 49ers

Record: 8-8

13th- San Fransisco 49ers- Trent Williams OT Oklahoma- Their biggest need is probably RT and Williams will be perfect for them here. They would love for Haden to fall here but probably wont.

Seattle Seahawks (from 8-8 Denver)

Record: 5-11

14th- Seattle Seahawks- Anthony Davis OT Rutgers- After stealing Berry at 6th they will get a good OT in Davis. They could reach for Carroll's old student in Charles Brown but I think Davis would be better for them.

New York Giants

Record: 8-8

15th- New York Giants- Earl Thomas S Texas- The Giants shocked me in not making the playoffs but they somehow didnt. They have glaring holes at a few defensive positions. They would love McClain to fall to them but I dont think he does. Thomas is a great play making safety who would be a good fit in New York. Brian Price deserves serious consideration though.

San Francisco** (from 8-8 Carolina)

Record: 8-8

16th- San Fransisco 49ers- C.J. Spiller RB Clemson- Gore has been injured the past few years and they could use a little more depth at the RB position and spiller is worth a middle of the first round pick. Now i'm not as high on him as other people but he represents good value at 16.

Tennessee Titans**

Record: 8-8

17th- Tennesse Titans- Jason Pierre-Paul DE USF- With the future departure of vandenbosch the titans could use pass rush and pierre-paul has great potential. He has come on of late and could be up higher after the combine.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Record: 9-7

18th- Pittsburgh Steelers- Brain Price DT UCLA- Pittsburgh should be fine next year and with a little more help on the defensive side of the ball they could win another superbowl. Most people think they need line help but most of the sack problems are because os Ben. They would love for Earl Thomas to fall to them but he dosent here.

Atlanta Falcons**

Record: 9-7

19th- Atlanta Falcons- Kyle Wilson CB Boise State- The Falcons need help on the defensive side with either pass rush or secondary. I believe Wilson is a great CB and after a great senior bowl he showed he should be a first round pick.

Houston Texans**

Record: 9-7

20th- Houston Texans- Kareem Jackson CB Alabama- Houston seems like they always need secondary help and if they cant resign Dunta Robinson they will need to draft his replacement. Jackson played against tough SEC WR's the last few years and played well.

Cincinnati Bengals

Record:10-6

21st- Cincinati Bengals- Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma- Another one of Oklahoma's loaded team is being drafted in the first round. If he had come out last year he would have been a top 15 pick. Once he shows his health is at 100% the tape shows it all and his tape is a first round lock.

New England Patriots

Record: 10-6

22nd- New England Patroits- Brandon Graham DE/OLB Michigan- He is a prototypical 3-4 OLB and thats what the Patriots are known for producing. Graham just seems like the type of player that is going to flurish in New England. Even if/ when they sign Julius Peppers they should look at Graham anyway.

Green Bay Packers

Record: 11-5

23rd- Green Bay Packers- Charles Brown OT USC- Greenbay struggled most of the season with OT problems but strated to play better throughout the year. They do need defensive help after Arizona carved them up but will go with an OT to protect Rodgers.

Philadelphia Eagles

Record: 11-5

24th- Philadelphia Eagles- Everson Griffen DE USC- They could use some pass rush opposite Trent Cole and Griffen is a good fit. McNabb could be gone soon so they could get some extra picks so this pick could change but for now it is Griffen.

Baltimore Ravens

Record: 9-7

25th- Baltimore Ravens- Arrelious Benn WR Illionois- The Ravens are so desperate for a WR that they convinced Derrick Mason to come back to be their number one. They could trade for Marshall and this pick would change but for now Benn is the pick.

Arizona Cardinals

Record: 10-6

26th- Arizona Cardinals- Bruce Campbell OT Maryland- The Cardinals will need a LT once Mike Gandy leaves in free agency. Now Leinart is a lefty but they still need a LT to protect Leinart. Kindle could be the pick because Okeafor is going to leave and they need another OLB but I will stick with Campbell.

Dallas Cowboys

Record: 11-5

27th- Dallas Cowboys- Mike Iupati OG Idaho- I am shocked to see how overrated Iupati is. Now he is a great talent and will be a great NFL player as an OG. I've seen him as high as in the top 10 which is outrageous for a guard. He may eventually be able to play tackle but he is great as a guard and should be drafted to play OG. Dallas seems like a great fit for him.

San Diego Chargers

Record: 13-3

28th- San Diego Chargers- Jonathan Dwyer RB Georgia Tech- He may be considered a product of the triple option but he has great talent. He is what most RB's are today, shorter thicker with great agility. He will be the best option at this position in the draft to replace LT.

New York Jets

Record: 9-7

29th- New York Jets- Damian WIlliams WR USC- I am personally shocked how well the Jets played as a team. I was not a big fan of Sanchez and still isnt but he lead them to the AFC championship game so I guess he is better than I originally thought. His reward for taking them that far in the playoffs is being reunited with his old bud Damian from Usc.

Minnesota Vikings

Record: 12-4

30th- Minnesota Vikings- Brandon Spikes MLB Florida- After Henderson's injury, the Vikings became some what exposed so they need to fix that. With Favre wavering again on retirement means they need to atleast considering trading up for a QB or McNabb. A CB is also a need but they won't reach for one this high in the draft.

Indianapolis Colts

Record: 14-2

31st- Indianapolis Colts- Jared Odrick DT/DE Penn State- The Colts need help on the O-line but shouldnt reach in the first round for someone. When Freeney was not playing in the SuperBowl they had trouble getting within 5 yards of Bress which shows they need more interior DL help. Odrick can play either DE or his best position DT.

New Orleans Saints

Record: 13-3

32nd- Who DAT New Orleans Saints- Sean Weatherspoon OLB Missouri- They won the superbowl so what needs could they have? Well with some departing free agents they need to have a good off-season to have the same kind of success next year as they had this year. OLB seems to be their biggest need for now so I will leave Weatherspoon here.

Comment on any picks you liked, didn't liked or picks that were so bad that they should be completly erased from my mind.

Pride Of Detroit Just another Trade Idea

What If St.Louis is smart and takes Sam Bradford #1. We would have plenty of options at number 2. But what about trading our 1st pick(#2) and our 3rd round pick(#64) to Seattle for their first 2 round picks (#6 and #14). Then the draft could look like:

2nd-Seattle Jimmy Clausen QB

3rd- Tampa Ndamukong Suh DT

4th-Washington Russell Okung OT

5th- Kansas City Rolando McClain LB

6th- Detroit Gerald McCoy DT

7th Cleveland Eric Berry S

8th- Oakland Taylor Mays/Carlos Dunlap whoever has better combine numbers

9th- Buffalo Brian Bulaga OT

10th Jacksonville Derrick Morgan DE

11th Denver Dez Bryant WR

12th- Miami Dan Williams DT

13th- San Fransisco Anthony Davis OT

14th- Detroit Joe Haden CB

34th- Detroit Kyle Wilson CB

Now we would be drafting two CB but we need secondary help and this could be a good idea. Maybe I am just dreaming but this would be a wonderful scenario for the Lions. Although most people doubt both QB's will go # 1 and 2. What do you think about this scenario and are the any better draft choices in your mind?  Comments please!

Mocking The Draft The Newest Mock Draft

Order is based of team record.

1. Titans- Eric Berry S, Tennesse.Very surprising that the titans are drafting this how but they are 0-6. This team needs help in the secondary and maybe quarterback but I think if the titans keep this they will select Berry.

2. Rams- Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma, This Rams need help in a lot of places and in the NFL things begin and end with the QB. Some people like Clausen or Locker but Bradford if he comes out is the best QB available.

3. Buccaneers- Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma. Tampa Bay's defense has been awful this year and they will select the best DT available and that is McCoy. Suh is also an option but at the end they should take McCoy who could remind them of the days of Warren Sapp.

4. Lions- Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State- The Lions have a lot of needs and could draft defense but OT is more likely so they protect their investment in Matt Stafford. Okung is an elite talent and should be a pro bowl player within a few years.

5. Chiefs- Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska- The chiefs selected Glenn Dorsey a few years ago but he is not fit for their system so expect the chiefs to go DT. The chiefs need OT but if they are picking here will probably not reach for a second tier tackle at number 5.

6. Browns-  Jake Locker QB Washington- The Browns like the lions have a lot of needs and Mangini doesn’t seem to like either of the QB's that  are their now and will insist to draft another QB and Locker will emerge as the number 2 QB over Clasuen.

7. Raiders- Taylor Mays S USC- Mays is fast period.

8. Seahawks- Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame- With the Seahawks first pick they will look for and heir to Matt Hasselbeck who is on the downside of his career. The Seahawks also need OT but have another pick so they will probably use that pick on an OT.

9. Bills- Brian Bulaga OT Iowa- Bills traded Peters in last year's draft so they need a tackle and will take the best one available. Even if Dick Jauron is fired I think they will give Edwards another year at QB.

10. Redskins- Trent Williams OT Oklahoma- Most people assume that the redskins will go with a QB but I think they realize that no QB will be successful with their offensive line. Besides the top 3 QB's are off the board and I don't believe they will take Tebow to just sell merchandise.

11. 49ers- Colt McCoy QB Texas- Is McCoy a high first round talent? Probably not but this is a case where Mike Singletary will decide that he can't win big without a franchise QB. The 49ers could draft OT but at number 11, I don't see another player who should be drafted this high. Maybe with their other first round pick they can reach for OT.

12. Dolphins- Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State- The Dolphins luck into a top 10 talent like Bryant falling to them and waste no time picking him. With only Ted Ginn as their receiver it will be hard for Chad Henne to have great success so Bill Parcells will see that and grab the best receiver in this draft.

13. Chargers- Terrence Cody DT Alabama- With Williams at the end of his career I think the chargers will grab the best DT left on the board in Cody.

14. Jets-  Arrelious Benn WR Illinois- The Jets will realize that they need more weapons for Sanchez to be successful so they grab a WR here. The jets already have a good defense so I think they go offense on this pick.

15. Texans- Joe Haden CB Florida- Houston's secondary hasn't played that well and will get a lot of help with Joe Haden.

16. Jaguars- Tim Tebow QB Florida- Now Tebow is not a first round talent but playing at Florida and being a national icon the Jaguars will draft him and give him a chance at QB and he may be converted to TE later but this will sell tickets in Jacksonville and keep the team their.

17. Ravens- Ras-I-Dowling CB Virginia- Ravens defense is usually great but has been suspect as of late. Getting a great corner like Dowling should only help them.

18. Broncos- Rolando McClain LB Alabama- McClain is a great talent and the Broncos are not going to pass up on a player like this who could be a great defensive player in Mike Nolan's system.

19. Cardinals- Carlos Dunlap DE Florida- Dunlap falls in some people's eyes and is too high in others. I no he has had a horrific year but at 19 he is worth a chance and his potential is that of Julius Peppers but like Peppers he takes plays off and seems lost but has too much potential to be based up.

20. Eagles- Travis Lewis OLB Oklahoma- Eagles get a LB with great potential and at 20 has great value. Eagles finally got McNabb some weapons on offense so now they turn to the defense.

21. Cowboys- Damian Williams WR USC- Cowboys need a number one receiver and ROY Williams is not the answer. Damian Williams could be though because it seems that every week he is getting better.

22. 49ers- Arthur Jones DT Syracuse- Singletary likes hardnosed defensive players and will like Jones because of the way he plays. OT is an option but I think they will go defense with this pick.

23. Packers-Ciron Black OT LSU- Finally Aaron Rodgers will get someone to protect him. Watching Aaron Rodgers getting rocked by the Vikings was hard to watch because it could have been a lot worse than 8 sacks.

24. Patriots- Jahvid Best RB Cal- The Patriots always seem to get great value from their draft picks and Jahvid Best at 24 is a steal. He is a homerun threat and will only be better with Tom Brady as his QB.

25. Steelers- Brandon Spikes LB Florida- Spikes is a Steeler type player and the Steelers will realize that and draft him. Is Spikes a huge need for Pittsburgh? No but they can't pass up on someone like him.

26. Bengals- C.J. Spiller RB Clemson- I no that Cedric Benson is having a great year but their is no problem with getting a backup who can take some of the load off of Benson. Spiller has great potential and is a good value this late in the first round.

27. Falcons- Everson Griffin DE USC- Falcons could use another pass rusher opposite of John Abraham. Griffin has played well this year and I think Atlanta will realize that and take him with this pick.

28. Giants- Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma- Steal of the draft. Gresham has top 10 talent but because of his injury he will fall a little. A great wide receiver for a TE will be a favorite target off Eli Manning soon enough.

29. Seahawks- Anthony Davis OT Rutgers- Seahawks grab an OT to replace Walter Jones and can now protect their investment in Jimmy Clausen.

30. Vikings- Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech- A good pass rusher that can play opposite of Jared Allen. Good value for this late in the first round.

31. Colts- Sergio Kindle OLB Texas- A case where the Colts would take the highest player on the board because their aren't that many players that fill their needs and not that many needs in the first place.

32. Saints- Charles Brown OT USC- So I guess this means the Saints won the Super bowl so what would they need. Well a team can never have too many good offensive linemen to protect Drew Brees

Let me know what you think of the draft and if their are any picks that you will change. Tell me whether you like the draft and what changes you think that I should make.

Bless You Boys Today's Game

Today's game is probably the biggest game of the year so far. Today is the difference between 4 games and 2 games which dosent seem like a lot but confidence wise it is huge. Also while being on national Tv the tigers need to have a good showing so that the public can know that they are the team to beat in the A.L. central. It is also very important that Porcello can get back on track after a couple of bad starts in a row he needs to regain his confidence and play like he did during that 10 game stretch which he was totally dominating.

Pride Of Detroit What should have happened

I no the lions shouldn't have selected Stafford but they did so we have to all deal with that. But after that the draft could have turned out a lot better.

#20. Michael Oher/ Rey Maualuga..... The Lions should have addresed their biggest needs and not just gotten players that are ranked high. Michael Oher could have been an anchor to their O-line for years to come. He might not have been ranked as high as the other tackles but is still a very good tackle and good value for number 20. Maualuga is an all pro talent waiting happen while being a linebacker at USC he was on every highlight reel and can make big plays to spark a defense. Exactly what the Lions are looking for. I would have been fine with either pick but based on how the rest of the draft went I would have taken Oher.

#33. Maualuga/ James Lauranitis... I already explained Maualuga but Lauranitis is a monster linebacker from Ohio State. I don't know why he was rated as a second round talent but he looks like a great player for years to come. Now based on the reports on character issue for Maualuga I would have taken Lauranitis but either player would have been fine. They ended up taking a saftey which could have been addresed in later rounds and gotten more for their pick. If they wanted Delmas so much they should have traded their pick to the raiders because the raiders don't know how to draft so they should have tried to deal with them.

Overall I give the Lions Draft a C- because they could have done a lot better than they did but it is progress from other years past.  Tell me what you think of the lions draft and what I thought should have happened.
