Arenas Arrested for 100 Pounds of illegal fireworks

According to TMZ, Gilbert Arenas was arrested early Thursday morning around 2:30 a.m. after he was caught speeding in Los Angeles. California Highway Patrol pulled the former Memphis Grizzlies point guard over and discovered Arenas's pickup truck was filled to the brim with "dangerous" fireworks, which are illegal for those without a special license in California.

RUMOR: Ilyasova + 1 for Wizards #3

"Well, if they move (Ilyasova), it’s going to be a major move, because Ersan’s value is definitely pretty high. And one of the rumors, and I repeat RUMOR, all capital letters here — is that Washington might have some interest in Ilyasova and another Bucks’ player for the #3."

Redskins ranked #1 on Grantland Most Entertaining Team Index

1. Redskins … Robert Griffin III, who is the most exhilarating football experience since Michael Vick emerged on the scene in 2002. And RG3's numbers blow Vick's away. Keep in mind that Griffin leads the league in completion percentage (70.8 percent) and yards per attempt (8.5) with Leonard Hankerson and Josh Morgan as his starting wideouts, and that doesn't even consider his value as a runner. You know how Simmons has the Tyson Zone for celebrities who are so crazy he'd believe anything he heard about them? I feel the same way about Griffin on the field. If I'm watching the Red Zone channel on Sunday and I see the "Coming up … " image with a Redskins graphic, my mind races. Did RG3 just kick a 65-yard field goal? By accident? Did he go back in time and relieve Drew Storen? Is he hosting the Red Zone Channel right now? You could tell me RG3 accomplished just about anything during a game on Sunday and I'll believe it. These days, nobody in football is more watchable or entertaining.

"We're Lost" - Vikings admit utter confusion with Kyle's Offense in behind the scenes game video

The Most Interesting QB In The World

Robert Griffin III once ran a marathon because it was on his way. He speaks fluent French ... in Russian. He once had an awkward moment just to see how it felt. He is The Most Interesting Quarterback in the World.

What We Learned in Week 3 - A View From the All-22

I posted this as a comment in an earlier thread, and someone mentioned creating a fan post. So I am posting it here. Plus I spent 70 bucks, so I might as well do something with it. HA! I took a...

Merriweather out 2-4 weeks... I wonder if we cut Reed Doughty, would our safeties would be able to actually play more than 1 game in a row?

Sources: Jared Sullinger red flagged

"Sullinger, who is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2012 NBA draft, underwent a series of medical tests at the NBA draft combine a week ago. According to sources, the doctors who looked at Sullinger were concerned with Sullinger's back. A number of NBA team doctors have reviewed the information from the NBA and have told their front office staff that Sullinger's back issues could shorten his NBA career and some have advised their teams not to draft him in the first round. Blazers disappointed in Jeremy Lamb workout and interview

A player the Trail Blazers/many teams were disappointed in was Connecticut’s wing Jeremy Lamb. He was known as a sharp-shooter, but wasn't able to knock down his perimeter shot on a consistent level during drills. Lamb acknowledged that teams want to see his "motor" and whether he can stand up to NBA contact, and he didn't help himself by failing to shoot well during drills. Another strike against him for Portland came during a media interview -- when asked whether he knew "anything about" the Blazers, he struggled to name LaMarcus Aldridge, then said he knew of "the light-skinned dude," who turned out to be Nicolas Batum.

Why Harden could end up a Wizard

James Harden in a Wizards uniform? The idea is not as far fetched, as it may seem. With Oklahoma City having locked up both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook to long-term deals, will there be any money left for Harden? Thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement he is now only eligible for a four-year extension, the same deal he can get from any other team in the league. Throw in the fact that Serge Ibaka will also be eligible for free agency in 2013 and its clear the Thunder can’t afford all four players.

Griffin tells Colts "no" to private workout

Colts owner Jim Irsay says via Twitter that Robert Griffin III has declined an invitation to work out for the team. Irsay specifically blames the decision on Griffin’s agent, Ben Dogra. But if Griffin wanted to work out for the Colts, Griffin would be working out for the Colts.

The Redskins continued their march toward their own tails by nabbing Brandon Meriweather with $6...

The Redskins continued their march toward their own tails by nabbing Brandon Meriweather with $6 million on a two-year deal. Maybe the NFL took the Redskins' ability to watch game film away, too, because Meriweather's been a disaster over the past two years. As bad as he was in New England, Meriweather's famously poor game against the Lions in October should have sealed his fate as a replacement-level safety. The problem is that Meriweather fancies himself a brilliant freelancer in the vein of Troy Polamalu and Ed Reed, but Meriweather lacks the athleticism of Polamalu and the instincts of Reed, which leads to disastrous decisions and big plays for the opposition. The Redskins will hope that Meriweather can replace the injured and departing LaRon Landry, but history suggests that he'll become the latest symbol of how bad the Redskins are at this whole player-evaluation thing.

I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so

I am not one to toot my own horn usually, but I feel like it is appropriate at this time. There has been a ton of debate on this site regarding what the Redskins would do in this draft. Some of...

RGIII At The Whiteboard With Steve Mariucci

Griffin does a good job in the mock interview, but what I found interesting is the insight into some of the techniques coaches use in the 15 min interview to throw players off. (I suspect a similar video for Luck will be up soon). Enjoy.

"Now, if we criticize John Wall for not making the right play, he’s not going to backlash and retract and shut down for three plays, because he knows that we care about him. Because we spent that time, and invested it off the court."

The money quote from Flip Saunders after the game: "The first half we looked like ‘Space Jam’ where everyone lost all their talents and couldn’t do anything there for a while. But I told them, when you haven’t passed the ball very much, and you’ve been holding the ball and holding it, then all of a sudden, as a team, when you try to start doing it, it’s like guys aren’t ready." Flip has jokes :)

Quick Analysis - How much will it cost to trade up to the #2 or #3 in the draft?

N. Young - "I realize how serious they take everything in the league"

...Young doesn’t know for sure, but has a feeling that his reputation for flaunting the silly may have contributed to his inability to get the kind of long-term contract that he desired in free agency. He eventually had to settle for the one-year, $3.7 million qualifying offer, return to the Wizards and hit the market as an unrestricted free agent next summer. He also understands that changing perceptions can begin with a new, more professional-looking appearance — though he doesn’t believe there is any problem with having fun ... "I’m trying to set the tone for where I want to be, my future and everything," Young said. "I realize how serious they take everything in the league. The cinnamon thing and everything I really do. I’m not trying to have those labels."

Deshawn Stevenson calls Billy Hunter out

Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson, who believes the NBA's labor impasse will wipe out the entire season, blasted the job performance of players association executive director Billy Hunter during the lockout. "I felt like we should have decertified in July," Stevenson told Yahoo! Sports this week while playing in a charity exhibition game in California. "I feel like Billy Hunter is doing a horrible job because basically now [the owners] know our hand. The media knows our hand. The owners know our hand." Stevenson said he believes there is too much acrimony between the players and owners for a deal to be reached and the season to be saved. He said the owners have not recognized the significant concessions the players made during negotiations. "For me, personally, I don't think there will be a season," Stevenson said. "Right now there is just a lot of bad blood and [the owners] keep putting offers out that we're rejecting. So we're not going anywhere."
