"They couldn't have picked a better guy. He's one of the most talented players all around. High-topping competitor. He's a genius."
Jeff Fuller on QB Ryan Tannehill.

Jeff Ireland told me he "didn't see a huge separation betw'' RGIII+Tannehill when scouting 'em. That's why Mia didn't chase 2d pick hard.

The BessT Mock........
Yes, the wait is over. A whopping total of 0 ppl have asked me to make a mock. So here it is, for my fans, a 4 round mock draft:
1st round: Swap first rounders with Arizona at 13. Acquire their 3rd and 4th round picks. Why will Arizona make the trade? We haven't heard much of their interest in Tannehill, so they obviously want him badly.
We Draft: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame2nd round: Trade to the top of the 2nd round with 10th pick of the second round and 9th pick of the 3rd round to acquire the Colts 2nd pick of the 2nd round (jumping over the Vikings).
We Draft: Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State3rd round (Marshall trade):
We Draft: Markelle Martin, FS, Oklahoma State3rd round (Arizona trade):
We Draft: Olivier Vernon, DE, Miami4th round
We Draft: Joe Looney, OG, Wake Forest
I've been making fun of your mocks all off season, so have at it.
Cameron Wake -Quick Discussion:
How much would you pay for the 30 year old Speed Rusher?
Years/Money
Saw this on another blog. It's not mine, but I found it funny and oddly comforting.
CBS and Packers’ preseason TV analyst and 2002 NFL MVP Rich Gannon raises this question: "Who is the guy evaluating the quarterback talent in that building? Joe Philbin has an offensive line background; he was the protection and run game guy in Green Bay. You better have someone who knows how to evaluate that position." He said Miami is now the AFC East’s fourth-best team.

Changing My Tune on Jeff Ireland
I'm going to be honest with you. Over the season, my position changes more often than Mitt Romney's (supposedly, politics is not my forte). I'm vehement, i'm inflexible, i'm downright stubborn... until I have an epiphany of sorts.
I've had one of these said epiphanies recently (within the last hour of writing this) and I'd like to share it with ThePhinsider community, even though I normally don't write fanposts (for good reason, writing is my weakness - if you believe standardized tests lol).

Jamaal Westerman
Lets hope we see Westerman do this in a Dolphins jersey this year!

Mike Florio reports via a league source that Williams has informed Ravens officials of his plan to retire.

Juz thinkin during class, does this guy remind u of Cam Cameron? Good OC but leadership skills a huge question mark?

"The undercover police had come to Olshansky’s Fort Lauderdale Beach apartment to investigate Olshansky’s friend, who was in possession of 19 grams of marijuana. Police arrested the friend, but also found probable cause to arrest Olshansky when he began rolling a marijuana cigarette in front of them on the kitchen table."

Miami Dolphins select Matt Barkley - WalterFootball.com
Mockdraft
1st round Matt Barkley, QB, USC
2nd round Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson
3rd round Andrew Datko, OT, FSU
Hypothetical Situation:
Dolphins players like Bell, Dansby are finally showing some pride after were basically out of the playoff chase, where was this anger and pride on the field the past few years? That said we might win a couple games, just because the Dolphins love to do the exact opposite of what their fans want.
So my question is, if we win 3 or 4 games and end up with a pick between 3 and 6, how much wud u be willing to give up to move up and get Luck? Carson Palmer, 31, cost two consecutive first rounders. How many first rounders would u give up?
Keep or Kick: Jeff Ireland
Its certain that Tony Sparano will not be our head coach next season. Is it fair to make him the scape goat? How about the players? Are they really good enough to compete? Was this coaching staff really given the talent to be able to win?
Who are the Zach Thomas' and Jason Taylors of this team? Who are the guys you as fans hate to see have to lose? In 2007 it pained me that the Dolphins lost but it pained me further that guys like Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor had to endure it.
In my opinion I don't think there are any of those guys on this team. I don't see any player giving his heart and soul to this team like those guys did. JT I could care less about now after he's been tainted by the Jets. Bess treats this like a job which is alright but not stuff of legends.Wake does his thing but doesn't demand squat out of his teammates.
Who's left? Which player represents the wild passion of this fanbase?

Actual photo of the sign on the door of the Dolphins lockerroom.
A picture says a thousand words. These are the type of players we've brought in. Players with no egos. No pride in their craft. No swagger. No fear imposing attitudes. In other words, LOSERS. They've brought in losers like themselves, who accept and expect to lose. They don't rock the boat.
This front office is the one who should leave their ego at the door. Walk away. Your philosophy is ineffective, outdated, and plain stupid. How many years are you going to set this franchise back? Part with YOUR ego and get talented players and coaches who take pride in winning, and take offense to expecting anything less.

Anyone see the article where the Panthers owner has told Cam Newton not to get any tattoos or piercings? Theres a poll on profootballtalk.com asking "Should teams be able to tell players not to get tattoos or piercings?". Currently 52% of 70000+ voters say yes.
What do you all think? The "modern day slavery" comment by AP is looking a little less ridiculous now.
I've read PFT long enough to know that most of the commenters on PFT are super conservative, very pro owner. So I wanted to get the opinon of a less biased group.
If you could steal one player from each of the other 3 teams in the AFCE, who would they be?
- Patriots- Tom Brady (No brainer)
- Bills - Kyle Williams (had to think for a while but Williams is unblockable)
- Jets - Nick Mangold (tough to choose between him and Revis but Mangold is the best center in the league, by a HUGE margin)
Henne the starter
Sounds like Henne is going to be thelikely starter.
80-85 % of labor deal negotiated
Deal could be done within a few days.
Do you guys think Reshad Jones could take over as starting Free Safety? He played GREAT in the Titans game but then again so did Tyler Thigpen.
I'm not a big fan of Clemons. He isn't a very good tackler and obviously can't catch even if the ball is thrown into his chest. Lacks ball skills, it seems like more balls hit him in the face mask then his hands.
Or would yall prefer to bring in a FA. Personally I feel like we've spent enough on safeties with Gerbil and Bell's huge contracts. I'd prefer one of the young guys to blossom into a great player. Maybe even Jonathan Amaya who made a lot of plays in camp and preseason last year.
