UGA/Missouri Tickets?
My dad informed me last night that if I can find tickets to the UGA/Missouri game, he would pay for airfare, hotel, etc. Um yes please. I've never bought a ticket to an away game so I am deferring to my fellow dawg fans on this one. Where in the world can I find these tickets?? StubHub? Ebay? And I would prefer not to spend my life's savings on them if possible. Your advice is much appreciated. :)
A Serious Dilemma
Y'all. I need your advice. This is major. It has just occurred to me that the SEC Championship game is the same day as my co-worker/friend's wedding that I have already RSVP'd to. As in, the game starts at 4 and her wedding starts at 5. I know we still have to beat Kentucky but I am already freaking out. It is also a Greek wedding in which the service is considerably longer than a Protestant wedding. She is a Tennessee alum. Who plans their wedding to be on the same day as the SEC Championship game???? I do not have plans to go but I definitely had plans to watch and savor every single second, because, let's be real, it's not like we play in this game every year. I am torn. I believe I know the right answer but it makes me sad. What would you do??
If everything else goes to hell this season...
We can still be proud knowing Aaron Murray is our QB.
A Florida Fan Hits the Nail on the Head...Sorta
Year2 gives us his analysis of the Bulldogs' woes so far, and it's pretty spot on. He cites what I think it possibly the most frustrating thing about the whole season: we are a team "with everything and nothing wrong at once." Makes perfect sense to me.
Another great point: "Without consistency, it makes it really tough for Mike Bobo to look better than he does right now. I'm not saying he's been great or anything, but every play he called worked at some point and didn't work at some point." True, true.
And: "Almost nothing the Bulldogs do is a complete failure. Overhauling everything would accomplish nothing, because it would make the team even less consistent than it is now." Yup.
It's not like LSU's atrocious offense where you can say, "man, their QB play is bad" or chalk it all up to inexperience and lack of depth, like with Tennessee.
There's really nothing substantial you can put your finger on. And if you think it's frustrating for us, think about how the coaches feel.
His assessment of the defense is interesting too. To say that Coach Grantham probably isn't used to coaching against option QBs is fair, and 3 of our 4 losses were against relatively mobile QBs.
The general consensus here is that no one really knows exactly what's wrong with the Georgia football team or how it needs to be fixed.
I don't know about you, but that sure makes me feel better about things.
Da'Rick Rogers D'arrested
I can't take credit for the "d'arrested" line. Thank you Paul Westerdawg! Classic!
Guess they were right about him being bad news. After all we dawg fans have been through recently, at least we avoided this. It looks as if anywhere from 7-10 football players were involved. There's video of the brawl and it's not pretty. And then there's possible NCAA violations because the owners of the bar were dumb enough to admit that the football players were given VIP status and were not made to pay a cover. Just a mess of a situation and it will be interesting to see how Derek Dooley handles it.
Tickle piles??
I'm pretty new to the college football blogging scene (and really college football in general, but I'm learning) and I've seen a lot of what appears to be coined insults when referring to other teams. I get "gayturds" and "urban cryer" and all that nonsense but the one term that I see often that I just don't get is "tickle pile." Can anyone intelligent enlighten me as to the origin of the term "tickle pile" when referring to Georgia Tech? Thanks! :)
