Eric Tangradi honoured by the OHL
Every year the OHL has a coaches choice poll with categories like "Hardest Shot," "Smartest Player" etc. They honour the top three in each category and this year Eric Tangradi placed in three of the categories - Smartest Player, Hardest Worker and Most Dangerous in the Goal Area.
He also scored two goals on Sunday in a playoff game against Sudbury, and has 5pts in 4 playoff games (Belleville is leading the series 3-1 as of tonight).

Malkin Will Play Tonight
Despite reports that he's been under the weather the Pens are expecting to have Malkin in tonight's lineup. Hopefully he can pick up a few points and widen the gap on that scoring title...

Trade Deadline Speculation Begins.
The one I'm most curious about is that the Pens have supposedly inquired about getting Colby back from Atlanta. Who would they trade for him?
Ryan Whitney's name also makes the list, though it's been flying around for a few seasons now, so I don't know how much we should read into that.

Orpik rejects deal.
Link: Orpik turns down deal from Pens.
Well... that was anti-climactic. Ray Shero needs to get a move on if he wants to retain some of his UFAs.
Malone wasn't happy with his offer, Orpik isn't happy with his... what's going on? Has their playoff run increased their value that much? Is Shero low balling them? Do they just want to move on or test free agency?
Sigh... can someone sign something already?

Salary Arbitration for Fleury
Link: Fleury taken to salary arbitration by Pens.
Link: Again, from the Post-Gazette
So the Pens have chosen to take Fleury to salary arbitration, which, considering all of the signings they have to do in the next few weeks, is probably a good thing. In an article in the Post-Gazette Fleury's agent said he wasn't very surprised to hear it. This buys them time, and also ensures he won't become an RFA on July 1st.
Because it is the team that chose arbitration, and not the player, they will have to abide by the decision and sign him for whatever the decision is.
Things are starting to get interesting on the Penguins front again... hopefully some signings soon.
