This smacks of ignorance in my opinion. Yao is 7'6" and weighs 320 pounds. He's played basketball year round for a majority of his life. Foot/leg injuries are inevitable for a man that size.

I know some of you are fit to be tied over Saturday's game, but Tom Ziller reminds us of very recent Spur history.

12 seasons, 12 playoff appearances. #21 is a badass.

Kelly Dwyer keeping it really real in his Behind the Box Score post. Note the last sentence in the next to last paragaph. Meh......

Pounding The Rock Around the NBA(Thursday night Loser Thread)

I know many of you are more than just Spur fans and love the NBA. There are many blogs to check out the daily goings on in the NBA, such as here(a personal fave of mine), here(another fave), and here. The playoffs are about to heat up your usual suspects(Spurs, Lakers, Cavs, etc.) are gearing up for long postseason runs, and your usual bottom feeders(Clippers, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, etc) playing out the string. Speaking of the Clippers, this story has piqued my attention and made me double over with laughter/disbelief. How does Isiah Thomas keep getting chances to ruin organizations/leagues? Does he perform Jedi mind tricks while being interviewed? Does he have pictures of somebody important doing something scandalous? Unbelievable. Part of me wants to see this happen because the of the inevitable laughs I will have over his incompetence. As a basketball lover, I have to draw the line. This can't happen, can it?

Hat tip to the hilarious Matt McHale aka Basketbawful of Basketbawful.blogspot.com. He found this action figure of Tracy McGrady. Notice the action figure appears to be diving for a loose ball, something that Tracy DID NOT do this season.

Pounding The Rock Well what do you know

I'm here finishing up my evening here at work, listening to the radio, minding my business. And what do you know if I hear two of our least favorite Mavericks Jerry Stackhouse and Jason Terry running their yaps off about wanting to see the Spurs in the 1st round. Not only did these jerks say that, but they out and out said that they like to take cheap shots at the Sickness. Terry joked about how you can't miss him because his nose is the first thing you hit when you are trying to defend/cheap shot him. Well, I don't know about my other Spur fans, but I hope these jokers get their wish. I want us to put the Mavs out of their misery in the 1st round, preferably by sweeping their arses(Yeah, I know the Spurs don't normally sweep series), but it would be awesome. Mark Cuban would actually cry if that happened. Who would you gals/guys like to see in the 1st round?

Pounding The Rock Thursday Night Loser Thread

Good evening my fellow Spur fans. It's another Thursday night Loser thread extravaganza. For our NBA entertainment tonight, we have the Mavs going for a predictable loss against the Hornets. In game 2, we have Team Implosion aka the Denver Nuggets going against the Portland Trailblazers, which leads me to a question. How long will the Denver ownership/management put up with George Karl and his prima donna antics? No disrespect to him because he is a cancer survivor, but he's a lousy coach. Let's discuss the games and anything else that may be on your minds.
