My Name is Derek, I am a South Florida Native and Life Long Dolphins fan. I was born the year the team was franchised into the NFL (1966). My Mother and Father having lived here already for 3 years before that were 1st season fans (they were the new local team!). We as a family owned season Ticket to the Orange Bowl the second Season they offered them (1971)... and kept them through the entire time the Dolphins called the Orange Bowl home. We did not buy season ticket to the new stadium until 1993. For 7 years we watched, We have owned them on and off since. I LOVE my team, always have, always will... through the good, bad, ugly and REAL UGLY tears. I'm rock solid. As an audio Engineer and part time drug treatment center counselor, I have the time to follow and pay very close attention (sometimes to my own peril) to the Dolphins and what they do nearly every day. I am opinionated, but I am not unfair, a hater or overly Homer sided. I believe we are very lucky to have Joe Philbin and his staff, Ireland is not on my good side right now, Ross has me scratching my head... BUT... I believe our team is FINALLY coming to the realization that the best and most long term productive way to build the Dolphins will be to do so in the draft and by developing our own Quarterbacks and talent. Free Agency can be used as a tool to supplement talent deficiencies, but Miami should "NEVER" allow itself to again be at the mercy of Free Agents, Their Agents, High prices, low productivity and propensity to make our team look the fool while using us to drive their value on other teams.

It is time for Miami to become responsible for their own talent machine, and use it to develop player for our team and to trade developed players for the acquisition of draft picks and other uses to build the franchise from within.
