Dont Underestimate The Wounded Dog

Does Maryland have what it takes to beat FSU. I think this is a shock but The just might. Yes, Im talking about the the same 2-8 Terrapins that almost lost James Madison in OT, yet beat Clempson and hung around with WF and NCST. sounds crazy but I think we need to look at this game as a big deal.
For some this is a win already with a lot of people looking at who we might get in the bowl game we are going to. I think some people have forgoten that FSU still need one more game to even get in. With Maryland and UF left that leaves Maryland because the UF game is like a 7% chance of us winning maybe less. So why are you so worried Des about Maryland this team sucks and thats true. But FSU sucks (well the Def at least). If most havent noticed teams have put up points on FSU all year. Every team other than WF have put up there best Offense game agenst us. Most teams are putting up an avg. of 390.2 yards a game and thats including Jax St. As for Maryland that are avg. 311.1 yards a game. If the trend is right then they will at least get that + more on FSU. Can FSU's offense out score them maybe.
Now that they have seen what EJ can do and what JF will try they will have a much better game plan that WF. There Def is not that good at all from what I can tell. Im sure FSUn will go into depth about this. Most well have a good feeling but Im not. If we stick to the same game plan as last week we could have some problems.
FSU last week got lucky with the game play because WF didnt know what they would see form FSU. They thought we would run the same game plan we have ran all year and that didnt happen. We ran a lot of Play-action and bootlegs. We ran a lot of zone reads and options. We ran a lot of short easy passes. Im not saying that will not work but we didnt set up plays like JF would have with Ponder. WF thought we were and that helped us. This week we need to see more and less of both. We need to stick with the zone reads because thats the base play. The fly motion will be nice because we have 3-6 plays out of it but we only saw 3 of them. (the pass to the motion, and ISO/Zone read, and a bootleg backside TE flats pass.) we can still see the revers/ a dud pass from Reed and prob something else I have no clue about. I would like to see some QB draws( like the ones Ponder would run off T) Also I think we need to get EJ running some Trip options with that pony formation we have with both RB going one way and Ej taking it the other or fake the FB under and EJ and TJ/jones to the other side. Keys on the numbers game will be big because Maryland will move more up closer to the line. The bubble will not work well I think but the slants and TE post could be big for us.

As some of you know my wife and in-laws are NCST alumni. they are from Raleigh, NC and proud of it. Being a FSU fan and having them around so often comes to be a problem sometimes. Although NCST is not doing all that well I still have a bet with them as the winner buys Thanksgiving dinner. I dont sweet it that much but there are a few problems this year with this. The reasons Im worried about this are NCST is know to have a strong Def. They seem to always play well agenst FSU. Some of FSUs best games were with NCST IMO. 1996 FSU vs NCST, That year we dropped 30+ points on 9 teams and lost the NC to UF after beating them. the score for FSU/NCST was 13-0 fsu this was a close game for us. 1998 NCST won 7-24 and we still went out and won 11-2 with the only other lose to Tenn in the bowl game. We put 23 on every other team that year. 2001 the start of the down fall of FSU. NCST won 28-34 we lest this season 8-5 and things never got better for the most part. 2002 NCST 17 FSU 7 2003 FSU 50 NCST 44 (OT) This was a great game 2005-2006 NCST wins 2007-08 FSU These last 4 games were all close. For me NCST is the rivalry game in the ACC Atlantic. My other reason is Though NCST hasnt had the Offense they wanted this year, FSU has made bad offense look like NC teams. We let teams run right throw us. To top this off NCST has a QB in R. Wilson and when he is healthy he can run. Thats not good for FSU. Now this year he seems a step slower than last year but with our Def. woes does he need to be at top speed. Im not going to go into there Offense because FSUn prob. will and knows 100% about it than I. This is a team that took out Pitt. its also a team that can put points up with at least 20 pints a game. I dont know about you all but I fear this game. FSU is on the line with where they want to go. The rest of the games could all be won still but at the same time we could lose them just as easy. This season has pushed the fans of FSU. Some are just ready for B-ball season to start and want this season over. Thats sad to think about but with all the drama it might be better. Im going to stick by my noles and wear Nole gear and watch every game but I still dont want to cough up about 400+ for Thanksgiving dinner. So for the love of the game be loud and proud. OK so in the Noles Pick'em you have the 2 teams and the spread of points. I pick the right team to win but some dont cover the points. Is there a way to pick a team but not have them cover the spread. I never undersood how this all works. I know Im not doing that bad because Im ranked #6 in the polls but I want to win.

So what next.

Well after a loss like that where do we look too, where are we going, what do we do next. Ive been pissed for about the last 20 hrs about MA and his Def. that I almost gave up on our Noles for the season. But why. Is it over. HELL NO. We have a good game next week and a game we all thought we could win the next 2 weeks. I know we all want MA head and CTC and JA fired but we also know that wont help or happen. We need to look past this and focus on some of the better Pos. What happened Last night that we liked. I have to say I loved the Offense look. I like the Screens, I like WR for the most part. I liked The TE use. But Most of all There is two things that give me some hope. FSU O-line Pass blocking and DB Greg Reid. Those two things are giving me some hope. Last night we say some things from FSU Def that we havent seen but all have wanted. We say some 3-4 and zone blitzing. It wasnt that bad but not ll that good. My guess here is because its just new. Im ok with that because if we keep with it I can get better, but only if we keep with it. If we trash it and go back to the old ways of 4-3 cover 2 then we are right back where we started last year. I dont want that myself because I want our Def to know something when a new DC comes in and we dont have to start from the basic. (thought we will anyhow) We also say FSU Qb throw to someone most though was a SPC OT ya Im talking about Caz. He cought the first TD for the 2009-10 Noles and I and the miami coaches couldnt beleave it. Good things for the Offense this year. The game sucked but it was what it was going to be. So what do you all think we should go to next. I dont want to hear the bad stuff use the other threads to bash people and coaches. I want to know what good came out from this game. I want toi know why I should watch the rest of the games. I want to know If Im not the only one that thinks its just one game a bad one but only one and we might be ok.

USC vs NCST

This game sucked. It proved NCST doesnt have a Def, doesnt have a running attack, the only good thing for NCST in this is if (IF) the QB gets time he can throw. Hes not that fast. USC is not a great team and they dont lookm that good IMO. Our Def can play as good as USC and Our Offense should be lightyears better. This is a good game for teams like FSU and Clem. because it tells Us how bad they suck.

•Last year it was Florida State's offensive line. This year it's Maryland's defensive line. Somehow my position rankings have managed to inspire (and, uh, infuriate) players all over the conference. The coaches? I'm sure they don't mind. It only makes the players better. Just look at the magic I worked on FSU last year.

questions about next year

I just wanted to know about the kids that didnt make the grade to play at FSU that we recruited this past year. Also is there any news on who is injured going into this next season like Easterling? I havent been able to keep up as much with work picking up and going to summer school. Is there any word yet about Dvo going to play baseball yet? I also see something that Myron Rolle as a Sr. Does he still count on the roster?

I know we have had post about this but I just looked at it and have seen some good things and some bad thing. I just wanted to get everyone take on this. Sorry for my spelling before hand.

Sept. 7 vs Miami (Mon)

I would like to say at first look I though we made out real good but at a second look Im not liking what I see. I dont know if anyone will agree with me on this but I feel that next year we cant wait tell our Def gets on the same page. Our Off is going to have to win some games for us. I dont think the Def will show up to every game like we think but I do feel that other than the UF game we can just out score every team on there.

So lets talk. Ill go first because well its just how this works. We start with Miami. I like that because WE have a better Idea who FSU is than Miami does. They have some great talent down there and if they ever figure out how to use it bad things would come. We have a better idea how our Off works so we get the adv. in this game.

Second the Jack St game. this game we should win. I know they have the x-LSU QB but thats about it. I know they have others but sorry we have just more talent then them.

BYU. Wow whos idea was this one. Well guess it time to have a flash back and get the idea in the head anytime anywhere. This is a good team to start with. They end the season at ranked 25. These guys can put up a lot of points. they have a lot of speed it looks like but I dont know. Im sure they run a spread Off. The good thing is we have speed too. This would be a bad game to lose. At BYU too

USF. The road only get more fun here thank good its at home. I dont know what to think about USF. 2 years ago they were the hot team. Last year they just fell off. when this team shows up they can drop points and there Off is kinda weard. They run a spread where they will have 4 WR and a RB and they will zone read and pass just like where I want us to go.

BC the are falling down and with the new coaching changes I hope they flop. lost a lot on there Def with the 2 DT gone.

GT man I was hopen this game would come off the Bye week. The only good thing is if BC has a bad year. I would love to see us going back to work on Sunday for this game. Get as much time as we can because LSU tought us all something. To stop GT it take time. Lots of practice. One week is not going to be enough. I think GT is going to be a tough game.

Then we get a week off and then one the road to UNC. They dont have a great Off. They have a good one but I think by now our Def will have came throw and stepped up. I wish they didnt get the extra week off also. They did lose that nix guy so thats a good thing. But they are dont a good job up there with recruiting. I think we win I dont think it will be close. EJ gets playing time because we are up.

NCST some say this game is going to be hard game some a tough game. I think BYU and SFU games will tell us how this game will turn out. FSU has a problem with fast QB and NCST QB is fast and seems smart. I like this kid and I hate NCST. All I know is we better win because I couldnt hear it for a year that NCST beat FSU at home. Also do we play NCST on or around halloween.

At Clemson. who will they be next year. Your guess is as good as mine. They still have good players there from the last few recruit seasons. If they find who they are they could be good. If not lights out and they will fold.

At WF. Another game we have to win because Im going to this game. I dont think WF will climb back up because they just dont get the players.

Maryland some as last year sorry but we blow them out

UF, Im not going to say the same. Im going to be me and just lie about this. WE HAVE A CHANCE. I think its at about 7% but thats 7 more % than what some teams have. Its hard to say they are going to beat us but I think we all know the truth. Man this suchs.

Well thats about it. I think our Def is not going to step up like they did this year. Man thats going to suck because there were time this year they didnt even show up little step up. I think we will have a better Off this year and the best Def is a good Off. I hope thats right. If we control the ball and keep the clock going we can win. we dont have to score every time we get the ball but we have to help the Def out because we are not going to have a kicker/punter like this year. WE CAN DO THIS! YES WE CAN!It worked for Obama why not us.
