I have been a Bruin fan since I was 14 (94). I lived in a usc neighborhood so I was going against the grain in choosing my allegiance. However, I always perceived UCLA as the better school even though I thought I could never get into UCLA. After graduating from high school I served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps (98-02). I was honorably discharged as a Corporal and began working for 2 years. I also served a one year stint in the United States Air Force reserve (04-05). That same year I enrolled in school (community college) because I realized I didn't want to go on further without an education. I applied to UCLA and Berkeley, got into both, but of course chose UCLA because it was my dream school and I have always been a Bruin at heart. I double majored in political science and anthropology and graduated in 2008. My name "devildog_bruin" is taken from the two things--other than family--that I hold near and dear to my heart. Devil Dog is the name given to U.S. Marines in World War I, by the Germans, for their tenacity in the battle of Belleau Wood in France. The Bruin part needs no explanation but I will say this, Go Bruins! Semper Fidelis!
