Kevin Martin defaults on mortgage
Yikes, I wonder how this happens.
Hollinger Player Profiles: Sacramento Kings (ESPN Insider)
Hollinger's player by player analysis of the Kings for the upcoming season.
Some interesting projections:
Tyreke Evans:
24.3 pts, 5.4 reb, 6.5 ast per 40 min; 19.72 PER
Omri Casspi:
16.9 pts, 7.1 reb, 2.2 ast per 40 min; 13.79 PER
Beno Udrih:
15.9 pts, 3.6 reb, 5.8 ast per 40 min; 14.69 PER
Carl Landry:
19.3 pts, 8.1 reb, 1.1 ast per 40 min; 17.57 PER
Samuel Dalembert:
Projection: 11.2 pts, 14.0 reb, 1.0 ast per 40 min; 14.79 PER
Donte Greene:
Projection: 6.7 pts, 5.6 reb, 1.8 ast per 40 min; 11.84 PER
Looks like Hollinger has Omri winning our starting SF position battle. He still saves a lot of concerns with Evans (e.g. maturity) but projects a nice stat line for him.
Ime Udoka: The Ninja!
Came across this earlier in the season when Udoka was still with the Blazers. Glad to have this guy on our team!
In depth history of the Kings
I came across this history of the Kings today when looking around for something to read. It is super in depth, and really provides some perspective on just how far back the team goes.
What a jerk.
I like reading news articles, but sometimes writers can really make me angry.
Case in point, this article that rarely uses the King's team name. Instead it uses rude substitutions like "The Court Jesters" and the "Sacrificial Kings."
I can't believe this was actually put into print, even if it was only in the Denver Post. It is one thing to be excited about a player breaking a record, making it to the postseason, etc. It is quite another to wholly insult a team and its fans in print.
While we sometimes disparage Ailene and other Sacramento Bee sports writers, at least they are considerate-yet-realistic to other teams in their articles.
The Kings should use this piece as an inspiration to destroy the Nuggets when they see them this season.
**Notice that I did not make fun of the Nuggets' team name in this article. That is because I don't need to, everybody already knows that the kind of Nuggets that their name refers to are those that come from the butt.**
Cheers!
Martin gets back at Udrih, Bibby
In the Sacramento Bee Tuesday, Kevin Martin gave Beno Udrih and Mike Bibby as much a piece of his mind as our soft-spoken star guard can.
He mentioned "A lot of people say [Evans is] not a true point, but that doesn't matter. The last five years I've been playing with guys who were actually point guards who think they're '2' guards."
Zing!
This comes after Beno Udrih's interview blaming King's coaching staff, complaining that players didn't know their roles. Apparently the players Beno spoke of included Beno Udrih and...Beno Udrih. In any case Martin helps to put aside the worries about Evan's "pure point guard" status, as when it comes down to it, a good basketball player is a good basketball player.
I am happy to have Evans on the team. If Garcia has to take the ball upcourt, then so be it, as long as Evans is in the game!

McCants headed to Houston
Slam Online reports Rashad McCants is headed to Houston with a non-guaranteed contract. We'll see if he'll do more than shoot every time he touches the ball, like he did for the Kings. That's why I like to call him "Ra-Shot."

Given all the injuries over in Houston, he might actually have a chance to get something going over there. We'll see if they like his shot-happy ways.
