IVE SAID THIS BEFORE!!!!
I think this picture is TOTALLY HILARIOUS
I Predict.....
Well we sit here going into week 11 at 7-2, a far cry from alot of the outsiders predictions about these 2010 Atlanta Falcons. There's no doubt in my mind that the Atlanta Falcons will go 8-0 @ the dome this season. We're 18-1 when Matty Ice is under center & we'll end up winning those three games (two of which are against Green Bay & N.O.) We'll also go on the road & neutralize St. Louis, Tampa, Seattle, and Carolina. St. Louis has Steven Jackson and I'll front 7 will shut him down, forcing Sam Bradford to throw, and Air Grimes to intercept, and The Predator to prey. (Rams have allowed 20 sacks on Bradford). If we can shut down Tampa's running game, and cut down on the big plays, we got the Succaneers. Seatlle has been up & down, but they're im 1st place in the NFC Least. And the the kitty cats...its just a big load of Suger Honey Iced Tea up I-85. If we can force Aaron Rodgers into mistakes like he made in the Lions game and score of of each one we have a solid chance. The comes Drew Brees (ugh his name makes me crenge), if we give them the same game plan, but add a little more throwing in there we have a W. In my very humble Falcoholic opinion, Roddy will be MVP, yes MVP! The Burner will GO OVER 1500 yds! Matt will have 26+ tds and -10 INTs. We'll at least have 4 Pro Bowlers! And we'll be hoisting the Lobardi trophy in Jerry's World in Feburary! I'm not saying any of these games will be a cake walk, we know the road will be a tough and difficult one, but we will prepare hard, play hard, and finish hard and reap the REWARDS!!!!
GO FALCONS!!!!
Atlanta Falcons: 10 Bold Predictions for the Remainder of the Season
Us Falcoholics believe and so do the folks over at Bleacher Report!
On to the next one
Well, good overall win yesterday by the Falcons againts the Succaneers, we came up with stops and big plays when needed. But unfortunately, this win has to be short lived, because this Thursday, the black birds of Baltimore come to town, and they bring a quartet of solid wideouts, two stout running backs, a QB that has Snoopy's nickname, and a pretty solid defense. But they're beatable, and we can BEAT THEM! While Matt/Joe, Roddy/Anquan, and Ray/Micheal numbers are almost identical, that only tells one side of the story
Baltimore Leaders
Passing: Joe Flacco - 160-263, 1917 yds, 12 tds
Rushing: Ray Rice - 153 car, 606 yds, 2 tds
Receiving: Anquan Boldin - 40 rec, 546 yds, 5 tds
Atlanta Leaders
Passing: Matt Ryan - 180-288, 1949 yds, 13 tds
Rushing: Micheal Turner - 155 car, 694 yds, 5 tds
Receiving: Roddy White - 58 rec, 796 yds, 5 tds
If we are going to beat them, we have to outperform, outman, and outthink them in all aspects, offensively, defensively, and on special teams. We are really going to have to put together a whole game of football, win every battle from the line of scrimmage all the way to special teams & everything in between. We have the people on both sides of the ball to get it done, it just needs to be a total TEAM EFFORT! So I say, lets go out & get a dubya on the 1st Thursday night game on NFL Network and show these HATERS that we have what it takes to be an ELITE NFL FRANCHISE!!!
We Gets NO LOVE!
I just happened to be @ work while I was listining to the PTI podcast 4rm yesterday & the song "You Gets No Love" by Faith Evans (Biggie's Widow for those who listen to rap) came on the radio, and I thought to myself, my freakin' ATLANTA FALCONS get NO LOVE!!!! No matter how we win a game, or put out a win 4rm our bungholes, we seem to get no respect! I mean not just 4rm ESPN, im talking about CBS, NFL Network, and so on & so forward. Yuh, they're the columnist that like certain players(i,e, Matt Ryan & Roddy White) but less than 10% of them like our team, sure we dont have the defensives of your Steelers or Titans, but we are damn good. We are solid on that side of the ball, and we're coming together @ the point of the season where ballclubs make things happen. Im just soooo sick and tired of ALL these people saying that we're overrated, we shouldnt be 5-2, and this IDIOT of a HC that BARELY won the game against the RAMS sayin they are the best team in the NFC!!! I know its some Falcoholics out in the world that feel the way I feel!!!!!
BOOOOOM! Went the dynamite, and fizzle goes the Secondary
Ok, I just wanted to say that MY ATLANTA FALCONS are one helluva team. We are resilient, gritty, tough. and the big plays are coming just like we hoped. Just like the campaign ,we DO RISE UP, even though we had a 3rd Quarter plunder, we never dropped our head, we rose to the occassion and the offense did what it needed to do, bail us out and win the game. They're going to be times when the D is gonna need to rescue the offense( hence Biermann's Pick6). But I honestly felt yesterday, that the D could have done a completely better job with CP & the Diva Twins. The 1st half was solid, but we let a few BIG PLAYS happen that we shouldnt have let happen. The Secondary was completly ate up in the 3rd Quarter and Carson looked like a Heisman Trophey winning QB again!!!! (THAT WAS POSSIBLE!!!) But our offense was better, The Burner looked like a Mini Cooper with pads on running wild, and Roddy was an absolute ANIMAL!!!! All in All this was a great win going in to the BYE, and lets come out showing that gap toothed idiot in TB we are the best team in the NFC!!!! Go FALCONS!!!!
Mike Zimmer calls Pertrino a "coward" over his exit in '07
If you dont remember, Mike Zimmer was our DC under Petrino(cause its only room for ONE BOBBY in ATLANTA)
This is what the players think...
(I Got this via Yahoo Sports)
"It's freaking football. There are going to be big hits. I don't understand how they can do this after one weekend of hitting. And I can't understand how they can suspend us for it. I think it's a bunch of bull.
"You know what we should do? We should just put flags on everybody. Let's make it the NFFL - the National Flag Football League. It's unbelievable."
"Say it's third-and-15 and you go across the middle. As a defender, you try to dislodge that ball so he doesn't make the catch. Now, it's what, you let them catch it? You make the tackle, but they pick up the first down? I don't know."
"To really be honest, I don't think it's going to change the way I play the game. There's a lot of hoopla going around that I'm a dirty player. I'm not trying to injure anyone. It's a physical game, it's a violent game. You're going to get hurt."
"It's really hard because you only have that split-second to determine what to do. It's crazy. I try my best to use clear judgment and make clear decisions, but a lot of those collisions are unavoidable. You're either going to let them catch it and take a step to see what's going on, or there's going to be a collision."
5. Antrel Rolle
"It's fine for the offensive players but I'm on the defensive side of the ball. So are you telling me that now I have to slow down? I think we're already being cautious of what we're doing and how we're attacking the ball or how we're trying to make a tackle. I think that's absolutely ridiculous because under any circumstances you can't just absolutely have control over your body when you're pursuing a tackle.
"This is the game of football. This is a game of speed. This is a game of power. This is a game of physical guys going to battle. Once you start saying to guys 'You'll get suspended for a game,' that's when you're going to get a very, very tentative football game."
"A lot of times, guys are just out there playing and they'll just go and get you. I don't really think they're thinking about the helmet-to-helmet contact. You'll probably see a lot of players more hesitant before they make their hits."
"As far as dude running the ball, or running with the ball, and somebody hit you helmet to helmet, I think you got an opportunity to go down. You got an opportunity to slide."
"Have we become a cupcake league? We already have better helmets and gear. Wonder how the old school players feel about this. Not in the back of minds when talking about 18 game season so let's play football please....Even guys using shoulders to hit are getting flagged for helmet-to-helmet. Defense is getting sloppy because guys are avoiding fines and will get worse if suspending comes into play....
There has been a warning sticker on the back of every helmet since pee wee league. When u put that helmet on you know you will hit or be hit. We still choose to play. Parents are asked to sign forms for their kids to play because of the dangers of the sport. Nothing is different."
Do you agree or disagree?
Who would you trade for?
Ok, so I was sitting around today, thinking about the OUTRAGEOUS picks teams have drafted for players (i.e. Ditka and his WHOLE DRAFT!) so I said to self, "If I was a GM, what would I trade for a player?" Maybe a PB&J sandwich(no crusts) or a Dry Erase clipboard. Ok, so now that you get it, tell me what players you want and what items you would trade for them. I want to see what kind of things people would give for a player so go at it, be crazy, outrageous and silly people!!!!
Ok....
On ya mark, get set.................GO!
SISSYBALL!
Ok so I had to post about this. There's ALOT of talk going on about two certain players plays from over the weekend, CB Dunta Robinson, and LB James Harrison. We ALL know why, now here's the problem with it. The NFL is QUICKLY becoming a, "oooh dont hit too hard or the player might get hurt league!" That's just a BUNCH OF MULARKY!!! (and im not talking bout our OC either) Ok, I understand, protect the players, but geez Louise, we're eventually gonna have to play flag football or two hand touch if this mess doesn’t STOP. First of all, I DONT think it’s cool to hurt another player or to knock him out of the game, but if you go back and look at some of the GREAT NFL DEFENDERS, they delivered PUNISHING hits with NO MERCY! Great defenders like, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Dick Butkus, Lawrence Taylor, and Jessie Tuggle (had to throw a FALCON in their), just to name a few, made there careers off of punishing opposing players. I just want to enjoy the game of football without flags, esp., the one about "unnecessary roughness" It’s freaking FOOTBALL, it is suppose to be rough, rugged, action packed, and hard hitting! I guess this is my semi-angry rant, but this must stop!!!
Ok, Great Win, Now Lets FOCUS!
Yesterdays game against the saints was one for the ages. It was gut wrenching, epic, and an emotional rollercoaster, that took alot out of me, the thousands of other Falcons fans, and along with the players, coaches and other members of the organization. With that being said, lets continue the trend, and focus on our next game @ home against the 9ers, another old NFC West foe. This has been a chippy game the past few yrs we have played them, and no doubt them coming off 2 straight losses, and not to mention the 45-10 beatdown we put on them last year around this time. So, lets FOCUS, SELL OUT THE GEORGIA DOME and cheer our ATLANTA FALCONS to another Dome Win!
2010 ATLANTA FALCONS RISE UP!
LET THE HATE BEGIN!!!
This week is the beginning of a two part week Ive looked forward to for as long as Ive known how to talk...the countdown to Falcons Vs. Saints. Over the past few years it has been seemingly, "ALL SAINTS", we've just been on the clutches of victory, and the some kind of mess-up, and then, we lose, and I have to hear these stupid, obnoxious, freaking Saints fans for the rest of the year. But since they've won the SuperBowl (I still crenge when I say it) they have gotten much worse, with there horrible "Who Dat" cheer, I just want to put my dog on attack mode when I see one of them. This is a REAL FALCONS FAN talking to you, not one of these fair weather football 'likers' I TRUELY HATE THE SAINTS and wouldnt care if all of there players broke there fibula (i.e. Reggie Bush) I will be he happiest man on EARTH the day that the Madden Curse plunders Drew Brees with a blown out shoulder, or a concussion...and I will be the HAPPIEST MAN IN GEORGIA when OUR ATLANTA FALCONS go down to New Orleans & get some REVENGE!!!!
If your are an Atlanta/Georgia sports fan, not a good weekend
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
This weekend wasnt a good weekend for Georgia sports teams. Lets start Saturday. What happened Saturday you may ask, well the Dawgs lost there road SEC opener @ the SC Chickens, then Tech went out to Kansas, you know where Dorothy was from, they lost 2 the Jaybirds. Then moving on to Sunday, Falcons lost to the...ugh, Black & Yellow team that is from Pennsylvania. Then, oh yeah, the Atlanta Braves send there ace Huddy to the mound agaisnt the Redbirds of St. Louis, & guess what, A LOSS! Just a painful weekend if you follow these teams...
Oh I almost forgot, the Atlanta Dream(our WNBA team.....yes we have one lol) lost the WNBA Finals Game 1 to the Seattle francise...
Chipper For Omar
Is anyone into the business of benching Larry for Senor Infante? I think he'd play 3rd great & Chip could be our PH or DH( esp. with Interleague play coming up) what do you guys think... We have been hitting & scoring runs pretty good the last several games, but I still think some line-up changes are due (like J-Hey batting clean up) Eric showing up & showing out in LF, I honestly think if we make a few more minor adjustments (with calling up a SP to fill in for JJ spot) we will be hotter than hot goin into the month of June...

5 players on Falcons Radar(via ajc.com
These are some pretty good players, four we've heard the Falcons may pick from mock drafts sights or right here on The Falcoholic. This is one I didnt consider, take a look.
Offense vs. Defense...
Offense generates revenue, fans, & explosiveness. Defense wins championships, creates excitement & makes someone on the offense hurt. With a little more than 24hrs until the 75th NFL Draft in Primetime, where do you think OUR GREAT FRANCHISE should go. Demaryius Thomas of Georgia Tech world be an awesome complement to Roddy & would give Matt someone a wideout to grow & develop with. But someone like Brandon Graham or Spoon would be helpout to positions that could use a 1st round upgrade. So Falcoholics, im asking you, please tell me what you think!
There rumblings...
Ok, I was doing my daily check-ups on ESPN insider (I should clearly be teaching children) when I seen the NY Giants maybe looking to move an unhappy D End by the name of Osi Umenyiora. I’ve been saying ALL offseason that TD & the Falcons staff should inquire about acquiring this guy. He's 28, had a down year coming off a knee surgery in '08. But he still had more sacks than any of our defensive ends last yr, this would be a prime opportunity for us to upgrade of DE corps, & a sure fire bet we draft Spoon at #19...So Falcoholics, What ya think
NFL Realigment
I would like to see the NFL realigned in to divisions that make geographical sense with teams that are in logical proximity to one another.
The biggest hurdles to making this a reality are that some traditional divisional rivalries would be broken up, some teams would switch conferences, and a couple of teams would need to be relocated to new cities. As far as the divisional rivalries are concerned, there are really very few that have nationwide significance and remain strong throughout the test of time. More often, the teams tend to play each other more tightly because of familiarity but national implications between the teams are far more sporadic. On the other hand, passionate rivalries can emerge that exist outside of the division, such as the battle between Indianapolis and New England over the course of the last decade. The fact that this proposal better contains divisions within geographical areas, added to the reality that these teams would begin playing twice a year, are sure to produce new and lasting rivalries.
As far as the relocation of teams is concerned, this is a requirement born out of the continued neglect by the league to cultivate an adequate number of Western-based teams. There are currently a total of 6 NFL teams in the entire Western half of the United States and this needs to be remedied. By relocating two of the newer franchises awarded that have failed to achieve Super Bowl appearances to Western locations, as they should have been located in the first place, balance can be better achieved. The first relocation would be Jacksonville to Los Angeles. This is a move that has already been rumored and debated. Los Angeles is the 2nd largest television market in the nation whereas Florida was already well represented prior to the birth of the Jaguars. Jacksonville failed to prevent television blackouts in the majority of their home games this year. There is a formidable argument to be made for this move.
The second relocation I immediately confess is self-serving to what I would like to see. This would be the relocation of the Buffalo Bills to Portland, Oregon. Although the Bills have achieved 4 Superbowl teams and were one of the more memorable franchises of the late 80's and early 90's, fan support has wavered leading the team to be another frequent source of relocation rumors, including Canada. Portland is a top-20 television market and would immediately fuel rivalries with both their Northwest neighbor, Seattle, and California teams. Now to the details.
AFC West
Arizona, Los Angeles, Oakland, and San Diego.
AFC North
Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Kansas City, and St. Louis.
AFC South
Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, and Tennessee.
AFC East
Cleveland, New England, New Jersey (Jets), and Pittsburgh.
NFC West
Denver, Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle
NFC North
Chicago, Detriot, Green Bay, and Minnesota
NFC South
Atlanta, Carolina, Miami, and Tampa Bay
NFC East
Baltimore, New York (Giants), Philadelphia, and Washington.
As you can see, the only division completely left alone would be the NFC North. The move of Dallas to the AFC would be the most shocking, but they clearly do not belong in an East division in the first place. A couple new divisional rivalries of note would be Pittsburgh and New England as well as Denver and San Francisco. I would be interested to hear if others had thoughts on how we might reshape the league.
