What could make the WVU v. LSU game even better? Writing off part of the expense for the trip.
A buddy living in WVa sent me this link to an evidence CLE offered in Morgantown the weekend of the LSU game...it includes tickets to the game and a blocked off group of hard to come by hotel rooms. I'm not sure which states will recognize the credits, but I'm sure the organizers could help you figure that out.
Finally a little love for Miles from the media
My vote for the most honest quote ever by a coach to the media:
"The only thing that I can tell you is that I am relatively honest and somewhat deceptive," Miles said in 2005.
AP championship is meaningless
Okay, I agree that revoting for a new AP champion is pointless at this point. However, to allow a team that was stripped of all its vitctories to keep their trophy says to me that the trophy isn't really worth that much.
I was heading to NOLA for Mardi Gras when...
I saw something in Alabama that almost made me throw up a little in my mouth. I was passing a big SUV somewhere around Birmingham when I noticed a red square bumber sticker in the lower right hand corner of the back window. In the center of the square was a large "S" and beneath it read "the coach." It was remniscient of the "W" stickers people used to have on their cars after 9/11 when they thought George might not wreck the country...we saw how that turned out. I'm not suggesting that Sabin will wreck Bama, but I am saying that if I loved my coach, this is not how I would choose to honor him.
I think it would have been more appropriate for Tennessee fans to have had "K...the coach" bumper stickers.
Rivals Reports Cali Def. Lineman Commits to Tigers
Cassius Marsh, the 13 ranked defensive lineman in the class of 2010 (according to Rivals) committed to LSU after visiting during the UF game.
How awesome would this be?
No. 3 USC (2-0) at Washington (1-1)
Upset Special: Yep -- I'm going for broke with this one. It's a classic letdown game for USC. Husky Stadium will be revved up, Washington quarterback Jake Locker can cause problems for any defense and the Trojans' offense showed against Ohio State it's still quite clearly a work in progress -- and that was before quarterback Matt Barkley hurt his shoulder.

Recruiting update-Spencer Ware
I heard a story at a party this weekend that a local (Cincinnati area) high school defender broke his back trying to tackle LSU recruit, Spencer Ware. Spencer has been recruited as an athlete and I believe is projected to be a running back at LSU. He appears to be very quick and strong in his recruiting videos. He has been hampered this season with a leg injury, making the game this past Friday his first of the season. In that game, (according to the story that I have not been able to independently confirm), a safety for the other team attempted to tackle Spencer and the collision was so brutal the safety broke his back in two places. Fortunately, he is supposed to make a full recovery but his football playing days are now behind him. Spencer went on to run for 156 yards and four touchdowns in his season debut. Unfortunately, he also threw two interceptions. Spencer has been described as a man amongst boys on the football field.
The article below talks about the game.
Coach Les Miles, waved away the issue of the reception Lee might receive should his number be called this fall.
"I think his psyche is strong, " Miles said. "His teammates respect the way he's curving and guiding his skill. I think it's an issue where if you're baptized in boiling water, you understand what the heat is."
LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee is using last year as a lesson
