Bears Fans- Don't Punch Cutler In The Eye

In this story run by the Chicago Tribune it is reporting that QB Jimmy Clausen was in an altercation outside of a local bar after the loss to UConn.

Starting quarterback and team captain Jimmy Clausen was involved in an altercation outside a South Bend, Ind., bar in the hours after a double-overtime loss to Connecticut on Saturday, taking a punch to the face in the incident, sources told the Tribune.

Clausen suffered at least one black eye as a result of the punch, according to a source.

This got me thinking, what are the odds of some meatball Bears fan taking a crack at Jay when he is out and about on the town. Let's say he's grabbing some milk from the grocery store and as he's reading the National Enquierer about John and Kate plus 8 he gets his eye dotted. Or lets say he's pumping gas and out of the blue he takes a shot. I'm sending this out to you Bears fans, even if your mad about a loss you just can't go around punching people no matter how much you want to. We're not Viking fans remember that. :)

I know I should probably save my ramblings until tomorrow, but I can't go to bed until I air out my thoughts. I'm not trying to come off sounding like a fair weather fan though.

I don't really want to rehash what we already know but some of it I'm going to have to cover, because it just pisses me off. Cutler looked HORRIBLE tonight. Yes he threw only one pick, that was of course on the last drive of the game. The interception monster has gotten a hold of Jay and is now residing in his head on a couch watching TV all day rewinding all of Jays bad moments. He so afraid to make a pick he's overthrowing his receivers. I'm sure we all saw how he's throwing off his back foot and not getting his hips turned or anything. Not sure what Pep Hamilton does but it sure as hell isn't teaching mechanics. I don't really have much else to say about Cutler, he needs to pull it together and try to have some fun out there it's really just painful to watch how he has regressed this year. I don't know what to do to fix it but something has to give somewhere.

Now onto my buddy Ron Turner. Seriously his play calling sucks huge monkey balls. I never have been an offensive coordinator and I realize there are a lot of factors that go into how a play actually comes off to be determined a success. I have noticed the plays he calls do not establish a rhythm or flow at all. The Iggles were all over the screen tonight and yet he kept calling it in all the wrong situations. Middle of the field appeared to be open on occasion as well and we didn't seem to attack it. And if the passing game wasn't bad enough, I had to see Hesters ass on my tv during the replay of his catch.....

Someone needs to tell Forte this is not dancing with the stars, seriously Matt find the hole and hit it, if it's not there don't just run into a pile of 5 or 6 guys and fall down. It was nice to see Bell get that huge run and he looked to be running with a little more heart than Forte. Still overall take away the big run and our run game sucked once again.

The Defense played pretty well for the most part, but again I'm just frustrated with how soft of a D that it is. They did force 3 turnovers but the offense didn't help them out and do much with them. Gaines Adams was a waste of a second round pick, you don't believe me watch Alex Brown match up against the same guys for a lot more success. Run D sucks and we still don't tackle all that well. The absense of Brian Urlacher was all over the Sean McCoy touchdown.

I think it's safe to say that the playoffs are just about out of reach, I think I chances were on life support to begin with but now I think someone just needs to give our hopes a DNR. Time to go back to the drawing board and figure out a way to win a few games down the stretch and try to be competitive. Anyway I've ranted enough, thanks for letting me get this off my chest. Your thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated.

I got to thinking yesterday during the game, I wonder who is on Lovie's fantasy football team.

I read about Matt Hasselbeck having himself on his own fantasy football team and benching himself a few weeks ago for what he thought was a better option. So anyway towards the end of the first half on 4th down Lovie decided to kick a field goal. Right then and there it occured to me that Robbie Gould is his kicker. Now I have Robbie as mine and from a fantasy perspective I needed the points. Well talk about your all time greatest back fires. I'm pretty sure Lovie is smarter than me and doesn't have the Bears as his D, they put up a staggering -3 yesterday, not quite as good as the 27 from last week but really close.

I have a feeling Kurt Warner could be on his team as well.

I heard JA had a good fantasy team for the first two weeks but he's traded any and all hope away for lesser know 7th round talent and a juice maker.

I didn't see a gameday thread and I've read some comments from some of you looking for one. So I figured I'd put this fan post up for you guys if you want it. Hopefully the Lions pull it out and so do the Bengals. Bear down Chicago Bears.... Bear Down. And I've been short on words so you can quit reading this because it says nothing, it's just filler, I mean if it did say something it'd say Steelers Suck.... But it doesn't say anything, why are you still reading??

As most of you probably know already, Big Ben went down yesterday at practice with a suspected ankle injury.

Turns out that there might be more to it. According to the World Wide Leader Ben may actually have an achillies injury. I don't know much about these types of injuries but I've heard that rehabbing a torn one can take anwhere from 6 months to a year. You'd have to agree if this injury is more severe than origianally thought, the week 2 contest will be much more in our favor with Charlie Batch at the helm. Although Charlie sports a 3-1 record lifetime with the Steelers I still say they are a totally different team. I know it's way to early to know how all this will turn out but I thought it would be interesting to talk about at least. Regular season is just around the corner......

ESPN Sports Center has reported that he has landed and more news should be out later today. Again I'm not shocked that Favre lied about wanting to stay retired and wants to play again. We've beaten to death everything about him but here it is again. Favre might be in the NFC North once again. Well let me be the first to welcome you back Bret, I hope you continue to add to your interception total.

Ran across this blog entry on the World Wide Leader. It's asking us to submit our comments on why we think Richard Dent should be in the HOF.

I for one can understand how he's been up 5 times and isn't in yet? The man dominated his position. Looking at his stats alone you have to put him in. I have no idea what the HOF voters are thinking but if Dent doesn't get in next year there is something seriously wrong with the system. I know of a certain WCG regular who might have some insight on this topic so as always your thoughts are appreciated and welcomed.
