Chris Andersen interview with SLAM Online

SLAM caught up with Chris Andersen this past Thursday at Converse's launch party for 2 of their new performance basketball shoes. They ask about his teammates who've headed over to China, why he hasn't been seen playing during the lockout & his role with the Nuggets when the lockout ends. It's a short, but good read. Interview starts about half way down the page, after Lou Williams' part.

There's a lot of Kenneth Faried and Jordan Hamilton in this highlight video of a mini-tournament held last weekend at Mira Costa High School to raise money for the school's athletic department. Jordan Hamilton looks J.R.-esque shooting the 3 effortlessly and off the dribble. Faried has his usual barrage of athletic dunks, including a monster windmill at the 2:10 mark of the video.

Nuggets in limbo as players bolt for China

Zach Lowe of Sports Illustrated goes over issues the Nuggets will be facing whenever the next NBA season gets underway.

Smith signs deal to play in China

Free-agent shooting guard J.R. Smith has signed a one-year contract with Zhejiang Wanma of the China Basketball Association. Smith and former Nuggets teammate Wilson Chandler will be the highest paid players in the CBA. As with all NBA players who have decided or decide to head to the CBA, Smith will be unable to return to the NBA until the end of the Chinese season.

1993-94 Denver Nuggets featured in NBA 2K12's "NBA's Greatest" mode

Enter NBA’s Greatest. Built off the success of The Jordan Challenge from 2K11, NBA’s Greatest pays tribute to 15 of the most influential and game-defining players the NBA has ever seen. Painstakingly re-created, the players, teams, and, even the presentation elements were built with no detail left behind. Hakeem Olajuwon With impeccable footwork on the low block and a silky-smooth jump shot, Olajuwon became one of the greatest centers ever to play the game. He was the epitome of power and grace on the court. Hakeem displayed a vast array of fakes and spin moves, highlighted by his signature "Dream Shake", which you’ll be able to perform in NBA 2K12. His matchup pits him against another defensive great from his era, Dikembe Mutombo and the 1993-94 Nuggets. You’ll need to master the new post game in 2K12 (more on in this in a future Developer Insight) to take down Dikembe. The Teams 1993-94 Rockets: Kenny Smith, Vernon Maxwell, Robert Horry, Otis Thorpe, Hakeem Olajuwon, Mario Elie, Sam Cassell, Scott Brooks, Matt Bullard 1993-94 Nuggets: Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, Bryant Stith, Reggie Williams, Rodney Rogers, Dikembe Mutombo, Robert Pack, Tom Hammonds, LaPhonso Ellis

Update on Coach Karl from son Coby

Coby Karl has some updates on how his father, and our coach is progressing. Sounds like GK is still taking things slow and having troubles with food, but it's good to read he's still getting into the office, on the phone lines, and even felt up to a Milwaukee trip recently. Says he plans on returning to coaching later this summer, if health permits. Let's hope he's able to get himself back to 100%. Get well and take your time, Geroge!
