Putting out an APB...
...for Mark Herrmann. Pat Forde, in his Forde Minutes column, tries to track down former great college players. This week it's our own Mark Herrmann. Any updates can be sent to @espn4d or ESPN4D@aol.com. Let's represent.
Crush Bill Simmons' twitter
Bill Simmons, EsPN's 'Sports Guy', is probably the most visible and most read celtics fan in the world. I happen to like him, but I know his fanboy stuff turns people off. Either way, I think he shapes a lot of opinion on all things Boston sports. He also puts a lot credence into what fans think when a player leaves one team for another. If fans of the old team are glad to be rid of them...bad sign. If they write/call/etc to congratulate, then you want that player. I think we'll all miss JJ and Smooge, and it would behoove us to let Bill know how smart and lucky the C's are to have a couple of great Boilermakers
Media Bracket is out!
Every year the selection committee lets media members come in and attempt the thankless task of building a tourney bracket. Here is the bracket they came up with. I gotta say...I'll take it.
Purdue would get to play "home" games in Chicago, all the Big East loving experts would pick 'Cuse to upset us, we'd be the underdog vs. Jimmer and the Jimmettes (who I think we can contain) I think it works
Coller Leaving
This looks bad at first glance, but maybe Hope could hire some successful HS coach in FL or TX to fill the spot.

AJ to Redshirt
Latest news is that Anthony Johnson will use a redshirt year to add to his somewhat slight frame. I guess it makes sense to redshirt one in a class this size, but I think we've all liked what we've seen from him so far. Does this free up the logjam in the backcourt some or does it limit our flexibility?
What does this do to our long term scholarship situation? Anything?
What do the people say?
Something in the Water?
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but WTF?!?
Everyone's talking about the freshman...
...but we all know a certain senior who deserves the attention. And, hopefully, one who's motivated by the slight.
All our Prayers Going out to one of our Best
Keep John Wooden in your thoughts. He's a great Boilermaker, even at UCLA.
"Meat" has arrived
Former Purdue DT Matt Mitrione is on the under card for UFC 113 on Saturday. His opponent is none other than Kimbo Slice. If Meat has any technique at all, this could be a big win for him.
More Good News
Chad Ford's telling JJ and E'twuan they need another year.
Kravitz gets one right
He usually drives me nuts, but there are some great lines in this one.
'Was Chris Kramer modeled after Purdue Pete or was Purdue Pete modeled after Chris Kramer?'
That's what we've been saying for 4 years Bob!
Change of Subject
Rittenberg does a nice, but brief, breakdown of spring QB competitions. I know TMill loves Henry, but doesn't it look like he could be moved to WR or S. Awfully crowded with Marve, TerBush and Robinson.
Andy Katz is paying attention
A nice little article by Katz, but no one on a national stage is acknowledging the unmatched greatness of Purdue's defense.
