The Clippers were shot down by the Nuggets in their pursuit of Danilo Gallinari, but they aren't done trying to find a sharp-shooting small forward to add to the roster. Sources say Clippers GM Neil Olshey was been canvasing the league looking for a starting 3 to round out L.A.'s roster. The Clippers have multiple first-round picks to offer, as well as young players like Eric Bledsoe and Al-Farouq Aminu and veterans like Chris Kaman.

Gallo wants to go to the Clips

Pincus has some insights, says the Clips are not interested in Chandler.

hmmm... Ron Ron wants to be traded

I know a team that could use an upgrade at SF, a tough guy that can be an enforcer, can hit a 3 (maybe?), and is a tough defender

Steph Curry to the Clips?

Not sure this would be as good as getting a SF like Granger, but I do like the thought of Steph Curry on the Clippers

From Hollinger chat Grant (West Palm Beach) CP3 to the Clippers. Paul. Gordon. Aminu. Griffin. Jordan. Looks like a championship team to me. John Hollinger (2:21 PM) Right team, wrong point guard. Deron Williams is the guy who may very well be a Clipper in 2012. People think of Texas with him but he actually lives in San Diego in the offseason.

Blake the MVP? ESPN is talking about it

10

Probably not gonna happen... almost impossible if the Clips dont make the playoffs, but could happen in the near future. On a side note, Mike Smith compared Blake to Magic, saying if he was Showtime, Blake should be "The Show". I'm thinking "The Blake Show". Maybe too much of a play on the rival Lakers, but hey what better way to step up that rivalry than to have The Lake Show vs The Blake Show?

Breaking News- Blake Griffin is good

I mean real good. I think all his points were highlight reel material

Ralph Lawler- Here's the deal on the Clipper's Summer of 2010. Please understand there were 2 routes to go for all teams this year: 1. Take a Swing for the Fences and try to be an immediate championship contender. 2. Build for a future run at a title. The ...Clips were one of 6 teams invited to the LBJ Home Run Derby. Dallas wanted in and was rebuffed while teams under the CAP such as Sacramento, Minny and Washington did not get the Invite. You would have All had every right to Boycott the team Forevermore if they had said - "Ah, you aren't Really interested in us." The team went to bat and made a Long-shot run at one of the Game's greatest players. Route 1 didn't work. That left them facing their 2nd choice. Here's what you All need to understand - This next season is the Last that will be played under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. If Ever there was a time to Swing for the Fences - it was Now. The Lakers are ready to launch what might be their Last Kobe Bryant-led chase after a Ring. All their thoughts are about Next season. Miami obviously went "All-in." Other than that, teams largely are working on positioning themselves for what will truly be a New NBA - whether it starts in 2011 or is delayed until 2012. Result? Short-term deals, young nucleus, protection of CAP Space, possession of draft picks. No teams are doing this more wisely than the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers. Teams Under the Cap when the new CBA is struck will be in a most enviable position. They will likely be able to Add players while the teams Over the Cap will almost certainly have to dispose of players - in some cases- dispose of Very good players for virtually No return. I can't go into much more detail than this, but please understand that what is being done is following a well thought out plan. Don't expect it to result in an NBA Title in 2011, but they do believe they can compete and be entertaining and show Hope for Clipper fans this coming season while keeping their eye on what they foresee as a very bright future.

Some Ralph Lawler facebook quotes

"Heading over to practice with the Clippers this AM. Neil Olshey working hard to find missing links for the roster: SF and back-up big man. Could happen sooner or could happen later, but it will happen." "Olshey insisted to me yesterday that he is Not done with this roster. He sees a gaping whole at Small Forward and a major need for a back-up Big. He has plenty of tools to address the issues and plans to use them. Spending money is easy. Spending it wisely is the goal."

Korver vs Miller

Not sure if its gonna be one of these two, but if the Clips can sign either Kyle Korver or Mike Miller for about the same amount of cash, who do you go with?   Isn't Miller older, slower, worse...

Final Coaching interviews tomorrow

I'm hoping its Casey, but looks like it will be decided tomorrow and maybe announced Wednesday

Wolves sign Milicic

not much to add here, except the wolves probably wont be adding more SF's at this point

LBJ, Wade, Bosh to miami?

15

They report it like its gonna happen, just like they did with bosh/lbj to Chicago a couple days ago. I highly doubt LBJ would want to go to miami and share the spotlight with Wade and Bosh in a smaller city. Doesnt make nearly as much sense as the Clips!

what about Dirk

My offseason plan for the Clips is to sign LeBron James... why not?  But if it doesnt happen.  Plan B doesnt look so good with Bosh and D Wade probably even less likely to come to the Clips.  Rumor...

Terrible trade idea- Camby for SBlake/Outlaw

All contracts are expiring this year, but not a good trade for the Clips. ESPN rumors looks like they're just throwing the idea out there

Dillman's article in the LA Times was interesting for a few reason.  I posted in another comment that she says the delay in the Randolph trade is just due to Memphis needing the room until they can...

Regarding the chatter

ESPN has some rundown on the chatter since midnight last night.  The big news in Clips Nation was Yao going down probably for at least the year.  Most of us were hoping that we could swing a trade...

What are the Clips thinking?

OK, so they couldn't have messed things up too bad yesterday, Blake Griffin was the obvious pick.  But Lisa Dillman's new article in the LA times says the Clips are having quite a bit of interest...

Foye, Miller to Wizards

Well, it looks like Miller was definitely being talked about.  The Wizards get him and Foye for not a lot (the #5 and Songalia, Pecherov and Thomas).  I think Minny will get the PG they want, but...

"I think the Clippers have made every mistake in the book," a Western Conference GM said. "They've taken big guys just because they're big. They've taken foreign guys just because they played well in one or two tournaments. They've taken guys with questionable character. They haven't focused on character enough."
