You might say I'm an expat of sorts -- I'm a Gamecock grad and fan living just across the border in the Charlotte area. Once criticized a UNC fan for not knowing what the term "DMZ" means ... that's how I roll.

Waiting on Ron Morris' column on ...
Since our favorite columnist from The State likes to gripe about collegiate coaches named Ray Tanner absolutely ruining the arms of their pitchers ... can't wait to see what (if anything) he says about this. I won't hold my breath ... he's probably counting the seats at Carolina Stadium to make sure our attendance numbers are accurate.
Morgan Departure an Absolute Travesty
There are several quotes I could pull out of this one, but, I'll just let the article as a whole speak for itself. As the latin would say: QED.
Mike Morgan's departure ... and why it stinks
So, as we all know, Mike Morgan is no longer the radio voice of the University of South Carolina's men's basketball and baseball teams.
This is sad.
I'm not going to sit here and speculate on the circumstances regarding his departure, because I don't know and haven't heard from people who would know.
What I do know is what I said above -- it's sad that he's no longer with us.
Garnet & Black Game observations
Now, I normally take any observations from a spring game with more than a grain of salt. After all, I remember one time when Corey Jenkins and Taqiy Muhammad hooked up for one, two, three, four, FIVE, count 'em FIVE touchdown passes. We came out thinking, "yeah, eat it Montana-to-Rice."
Sigh.
But, not to say that you can't take anything away from a spring game, so, here are some of my observations from our Garnet & Black Game:
Ray doesn't want you to forget about tonight's big game ... the makeup game against JackLeg and the tiggers.
Perception, reality, success
Sometimes all it takes is just one little push to get a rock rolling down the hill, or sometimes you just have to make sure people think you've pushed the rock.
In other words: perception often times is reality, especially when it comes to the world of collegiate athletics.
A great example is the buzz centered around women's basketball at South Carolina. Yep, that's right. Women's by God basketball.
