Battle of California Battle of California 2010-11 Fantasy Hockey Draft Results

Tonight's draft was a great time.  The Yahoo! autopic robot was oh so close to picking up Ryan Smyth for Rudy's team, but we'll have to save that dream date for sometime in the future.  For all of you fantasy hockey voyeurs out there, the draft results are listed after the JUMP!

Battle of California Battle of California(fantasy baseball)?

Hey fellow BoC'ers,

We've got a Yahoo Fantasy Baseball league that is having a difficult time finding teams.  It's a just-for-kicks league that has room for 5 more teams, with room to expand if necessary.  The draft is currently scheduled for March 31, 6:30pm PDT, but that can be postponned if necessary. The  custom league id is as follows:

League ID#: 431091
Password: capemay

It would be to see our BoC comrade / animosity on to other teams (Doyers, Angels, Madres, Gints & A'ss), so please join if interested!  Thanks.

True Blue LA Are the Dodgers being asked to give up more for Doc Halladay than the Phillies?

With the Toronto Blue Jays rumored starting asking price being of one of Billingsley, Kershaw or Kemp for Roy Halladay, they seem to be asking a lot of the Dodgers by giving up a major contributor to the active 25 man roster.  Especially when you hear that their asking price from the Phillies is probably 4 minor league prospects who have yet to sniff the Majors.  Is it possible that Toronto is asking a higher price from the Dodgers than what the Blue Jays are expecting to receive back from the Phillies?

Consider the front office connections.  Last year's General Manager of the Phillies was Pat Gillick, who has stayed active in the Philladelphia organization this season as Special Adviser for Baseball Operations.  Of course, this is the same Pat Gillick who was General Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays from 1978 through 1994.  Pat Gillick is remembered as the Genius who assembled the 1992 and 1993 World Series winning Toronto Blue Jays teams.  Gillick is still loved and revered in Toronto with a cult like status there comparable to Geddy Lee, Borje Salming, Pinball Clemons or Dave Coulier.  So do I think that Toronto Blue Jay CEO Paul Beeston could be doing his good friend and cohort Pat Gillick a solid by giving him Roy Halladay at a price just a bit below what Beeston and Riccardi are asking to receive back from other teams?

I say, without a doubt, eh!

Gaslamp Ball Looking for Padres Fans feedback...

Hey GLB'ers,

I apologize in advance if posting a Diary is not the proper forum for this.  On today's LA Times Dodgers Blog, they started a thread where they discussed they increasingly hostle atmosphere that is occuring at Dodger Stadium these days, especially for opposing teams' fans.  I know a couple of Gaslampballerz have expressed here their uncomfortable trips to Dodger Stadium, and I'd like to invite you guys to check out the blog and comment on your negative times there.  Please be tasteful over there, but if the LA Times really wants to have an honest discussion about the situation, visiting fans need to come and share their opinions, too.  Thanks for reading this, and here's the URL for the blog:
