LaDainian Tomlinson
I was looking at the free agency page on Nfl.com where it tells you if players have been signed or what teams are currently seeking their employment and I noticed Tomlinson has no interest right now with any teams. I also read an article where the Chargers GM said he doesn't want Tomlinson back. Personally I think he would make a great 2nd or 3rd string back who could come out on 3rd downs. He has accepted his fate as a backup at this point in his life so why not let him have some revenge on the chargers?
Should we pursue a high end linebacker in free agency?
I was thinking about free agency and I decided to look up the free agents for this offseason. I wondered if we would switch to a 3-4 defense or remain a 4-3. Either way I think we should pursue a big name linebacker and when i say linebacker I mean a linebacker, not a defensive end turned into one. Here are a few names that sounded interesting, tell me what you think. I will put their 2011 stats below their names.
115 Tackles 2 Sacks 3 Ints (1 td)
D’Qwell Jackson MLB Browns
158 Tackles 3.5 Sacks 1 Int 1 Forced Fumble
66 Tackles 6 Sacks 4 Forced Fumbles
Stephen Tulloch MLB Lions
111 Tackles 3 Sacks 2 Ints
109 Tackles 2 Sacks 3 Forced Fumbles
Kirk Morrison LB Bills (Had to include Captain Kirk)
7 Tackles 1 Sack
Eric Walden OLB Packers
60 Tackles 3 Sacks 1 Forced Fumble
Erin Henderson OLB Vikings
70 Tackles 1.5 Sacks 2 Forced Fumbles
Gary Guyton MLB Patriots
47 Tackles 1 Int
Ahmad Brooks OLB 49ers
50 Tackles 7 Sacks 1 Forced Fumble
80 Tackles 2 Sacks 1 Int 1 forced Fumble
Geno Hayes OLB Buccaneers
64 Tackles 1 Int 2 Forced Fumbles
Barrett Ruud MLB Titans
57 Tackles 1 Int
65 Tackles 1 Sack
I did not name anyone who was restricted or had exclusive rights. This is only a list of Unrestricted.
Who shouldn't return next year?
I think for coaches we need to fire Chuck to start things off. Then the Conditioning coaches. For players heres my list:
Jarvis Moss DE
Trevor Scott DE (7 tackles all season. Don't know why he wasn't used but he seems like dead weight)
Kamerion Wimbley LB/DE (Only if we can get a good trade for him.)
Kyle Boller QB
TJ Houshmandzadeh WR
If Seymour is our starting DT next year then I'll be upset. Move Houston to the inside with Kelly and use Seymour as a backup for both the DT and DE positions.
Possible Free Agents to go after?
Kevin Boss TE- Replacement for Miller if hes cheap
http://goo.gl/yJHjE
Carlos Rogers CB-A solid corner who can help teach our young corners
http://goo.gl/G0ip2
Braylon Edwards WR- Showed last year he can catch the ball with i believe only 2 drops all year.
http://goo.gl/4KIiB
Brian Waters OG- Depth for the line and also a mentor to our young line
http://goo.gl/TKXHL
Leonard Davis OG- ^^
http://goo.gl/ebTgD
Shaun O'Hara C- If we don't resign Satele
http://goo.gl/pSUCG
Derrick Mason WR - Old at 37 but can still play. Maybe help our receivers be more consistent?
http://goo.gl/vHPzp
Max Starks OT- Don't know much about him but he was the starter in Pitts for 6 years.
http://goo.gl/eE8U1
Ty Warren DE- A depth player and reunion with Seymour?
http://goo.gl/AbdoZ
Lofa Tatupu LB- Him or Kirk Morrison to challenge Groves for the starting LB spot.
http://goo.gl/zjUxt
Malcom Floyd WR- A great possession receiver who could possibly be our #1
http://goo.gl/UiygY
Terrel Owens WR- If Schilens gets hurt and Ford isn't the same after breaking his hand i would love TO here.
http://goo.gl/VwQ6m
Steve Smith WR (Giants)- If he is 100% he would be an instant upgrade and make our passing game much better.
http://goo.gl/MP62F
Rocky McIntosh LB- Another player to challenge Groves.
http://goo.gl/DcXFN
Dhani Jones LB- According to Dhani Jones he is a top 5 LB in the NFL. HUGE UPGRADE!!!!
http://goo.gl/vucaX
Any of these signings of course are only available if we get under the cap which seems to be proving difficult. Maybe next time Al will think ahead and not over pay so much? Probably not.
2011 Raider Free Agents. Who will return?
This is the list and beside each name is my opinion on whether or not they should stay.
Nnamdi Asomougha- If he goes our secondary becomes the worst in the league. A must keep for the Oakland Raiders.
Khalif Barnes- I like Barnes even if he is a false start machine. Keep if he doesn't ask for much.
Michael Bennett- As much as i like Bennett he was a waste of space this season. If McFadden suffers an injury in the offseason and Rock Cartwright gets injured as well i say resign him, other wise let him go.
Kyle Boller- There are better suited backups in the draft and free agency. Drop
Ricky Brown- Let Brown go and find someone better at the position to back up McClain.
Michale Bush- Another must sign player. Having a backup who can rush for a hundred yards each time McFadden gets hurt is a must keep.
Rock Cartwright- Keep for his special teams play and his leadership.
Jon Condo- The most unheard of guy on our roster and in the world of longsnappers thats a good thing. Resign.
Hiram Eugene- Drop and give more time to our younger safety's.
Charlie Frye- If we carry a 4th quarterback i'd love for Frye to return.
Robert Gallery- Best lineman on the Raiders. We have seen the line play without him and its not pretty. Resign.
Bruce Gradkowski- End any future blog arguements and game hindering wild throwing. Don't Resign.
Mario Henderson- Let this bum go.
John Henderson- I watched him play the past couple games and he was constantly hitting runningbacks and getting in in the backfield. Resign.
Thomas Howard- I don't know who Howard pissed off in the organization but he went from awesome coverage linebacker starting for the Raiders to season long bench warmer. Don't Resign.
Michael Huff- Finally showing he can play Safety. Sign if cheap.
Johnnie Lee Higgins- Don't resign and show him the door so he doesn't walk the wrong route.
Daniel Loper- Im not sure about Loper. Resign if we need a cheap backup or let go if we are filled up.
Zach Miller- If Miller doesn't return our passing game will very well go with him. Resign immediatly.
Stanford Routt- Keep if he is cheap and only as a backup/Nickel corner. I never want to see him start with Nnamdi again.
Samson Satele- Has done a good job at center even is t hasn't been amazing. Resign.
Richard Seymour- A big part of our d-line turnaround. Keep keep keep.
Langston Walker- No thanks.
Sam Williams- Al Davis' favorite. Don't resign.
Kamerion Wimbley- Had Matt Cassel Scared silly in the final game. Wrecks Havoc in the backfield. Fix his tackling ability and keep keep keep.
Thats who i think needs to stay and who needs to go. What do you guys think?
Is It Possible?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81d172d3/article/panthers-wr-smith-says-hes-not-really-focusing-on-next-year?module=HP_headlines
Do you guys think it could be possible to get Steve Smith? He wants to play for a contender and i think we are just about at that level. Are there any other big name Receivers we could possibly grab this coming offseason? Would T.O. be a good pickup after the kind of season he had this year?
Who I Think Needs To Go This Offseason
These are the players i think need to be replaced or flatout cut. And before anyone says it im not a Gradkowski hater or Jason lover.
Offense
Bruce Gradkowski or Kyle Boller (Have them battle it out for third string. Draft a backup or potential starter)
Charlie Frye- Great third string but not better than anyone we have right now.
Heyward-Bey- Bust.
Johnnie Lee Higgins- Sucks at returning, sucks at being a reciever.
Mario Henderson- Poop
Cooper Carlisle- Ancient and penalty prone.
Defense
Chris Johnson- Unless he works for free i don't want to see him being burned next year.
Stanford Routt- Never liked Stanford got routted.
Ricky Brown- Has never been impressive to me as a linebacker.
Sam Williams- Because Al Davis loves him.
Jarvis Moss Signed by Oakland
What do you guys think of him?
Possible future help for our secondary?
Brandon McDonald was just cut by the cardinals and im thinking it may be injury. In his three years with cleveland he had 8 INTS, 37 Pass Deflections, and 1 sack. If he's healthy enough to play soon i wouldn't mind seeing him get signed even if it costs a little more than the minimum. What do you guys think?
Here is his stats on nfl.com

Justin Hartwig C- 95 starts in 8 years

Fred Bennett DB- 5 INTs in 3 years
Jacques Reeves CB- 6 INTs in 6 years (All in the last 3 years)
Jarvis Green DE- 28 sacks in 8 years

Demetrius Williams WR- 1,008 yds 4 tds 4 years
Willie Parker RB- 5,378 yds 24 tds 6 years
