Jerome Messam

I can't find anything on the web about Jerome Messam. The Cam Wake fiasco has me thinking of the CFL. Anyone know anything about the guy?

What do we think of Brian Hoyer?

Brian Hoyer is a name we haven't really kicked around here yet. I just re-read his scouting report and he is really intriguing. 6"2, 215, Michigan State, played in a pro style offense. What stuck...

Curry did not take a play off on film, and that continued in Mobile. He doesn't have the bend and burst teams covet in edge rushers, but Curry's tenacity, violent hands and upper-body strength made life difficult for the North's offensive tackles -- including first-round talent Mike Adams (Ohio State) -- throughout the practice week. Curry finished strong, recording two sacks in the game. The second one was particularly impressive, with Curry using his initial power to drive Florida State OT Zebrie Sanders back, keeping his balance when Georgia C Ben Jones came over to help Sanders, and keeping his eyes on the quarterback the entire time.

With the increasing rumors of Jeff Fisher coming to Miami, who better than Brock Osweiler to draft as quarterback of the future! He fits the mold of the athletic type of quarterback that Fisher likes to work with, except he's freaking gigantic (6"8 240). At this point, he's graded as a third round prospect. We could probably get him for a steal.

The Next Julius Peppers

IMO this is who we should be targeting with the ninth pick in the draft (if we're lucky to have him fall that far). He'd instantly upgrade our secondary, give us an explosive pass rusher to pair with Cameron Wake, and would begin the process of switching to a 4-3 (and saving us from overpaying that nose tackle). If you don't have Insider, just go watch Julius Peppers highlights on YouTube.

As the regular season comes to a close, the NFL's deadline for teams extending players' contracts -- and having part of the money count towards this season's salary cap -- is fast approaching. If the extension is not reached by Dec. 31, they'll be unable to use this loophole. When it comes to the Green Bay Packers, there are several players that this affects, primary amongst them pass-catcher Jermichael Finley. As Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports, the two sides have reached a stand-still. Finley's next deal will be a lucrative one. Despite an occasional propensity for dropped passes, he's one of the most dynamic and unique playmakers in the passing game, which has led to some debate between his representation and Packers management over how he should be compensated: the team designates him as a tight end, but on the field, his play more closely resembles that of a wide receiver. As we've heard, this may lead to a fight over Finley's possible franchise tag, as there is a significant difference between the one-year tender associated with the two different positions. However, in the end, they may elect to tag him and then agree to a bigger deal thereafter.

The Best Free Agent Signing in the AFC East!

It seems like the major debate of the offseason is going to be whether or not Jeff Ireland should be retained. Well, he's proving to have made some damn good signings both in the draft and free agency!

"There's definitely been an evolution at that position since I came in," said Falcons Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez, who ranks second in NFL history with 1,142 receptions in 15 seasons. "Now it seems like everybody has a 6-5 guy who can make plays." -ESPN

Seriously? And we still don't have an athletic tight end? Still? Jeff Ireland needs to go. Now.

Bush impressed some of his teammates from the first days of training camp. When the two-hour sessions in the heat and humidity of early August were over, most veterans trudged off to the locker room. Bush would head back out for extra sprints, ball drills, anything to get an edge. "When he first got here he'd do it by himself," rookie tight end Charles Clay said, "and as time went on he'd bring guys with him. He'd be, 'Hey, come on over, get some extra work in.' It just trickles down, has an effect on everyone." -Brian Biggane, PBP Staff Writer

Bush has a HUGE impact on this team. This is the type of veteran leadership we need. I hope the Dolphins win out and carry that momentum into 2012.

The Colts Should Forfeit Their Number One Pick

14

Does anyone know the likelihood of this happening? If the Colts DO NOT lose their number one pick, then the NFL is basically letting them get away with BLATANTLY tanking the season to draft Andrew Luck.

This Is Why Donovan McNabb Will Never Win A Superbowl

Jesus Christ I am so glad that the Dolphins have never messed with this guy. This is why he washed out of Philadelphia. This is why he was benched in Washington. This is why he is losing in Minnesota. The guy thinks he's above criticism. He refuses to refine his game and improve.

Sparano said he might again change the practice routine this week, in advance of Sunday’s game at San Diego. He did that last week, staging a competition between the offense and defense after every practice. To close Friday’s practice, he had the offense get the ball at the 50-yard line with 45 seconds left – a situation similar to the end of Sunday’s game, when the Dolphins had the ball at the Browns 47 and 36 seconds left. Hartline scored a touchdown to close that practice exercise. The Dolphins didn’t gain a yard in that situation Sunday.

From Barry Jackson's article at the Miami Herald. The original article can be found here: http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/09/27/2426131_p2/miami-dolphins-coach-tony-sparano.html#ixzz1ZBBBJ9tu

Earlier in the game, cornerback Sean Smith admitted, he was lackadaisical on a 33-yard touchdown catch by Josh Cribbs. Smith tracked Cribbs down the field but let Cribbs out-jump him for the ball in the end zone. "I relaxed," Smith said. "I was watching the play instead of looking at my man."

Henne, Marshall bonding? Good friends usually share their toys, and it appears that happened Thursday inside the Miami Dolphins locker room. Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall received a box of action figures of himself the NFL produced to sell and decided to place one inside Chad Henne's locker stall. Marshall, who is the third most targeted receiver in the NFL, wants to make sure he's at the forefront of his quarterback's mind. "So every time you go to your locker, you remember to throw to me," Marshall said, joking. Henne told Marshall he's got a box of action figures of himself and said he planned to bring Marshall one on Friday. "I'll put it in your locker so you make sure you catch it," Henne responded. Henne, who has completed 53.2 percent of his passes for 586 yards and three touchdowns, did leave little Marshall in the front of his locker.

Yes! The Answer!

I have been publicly advocating signing Darren Sharper since the moment he was released. There is room for him on this 53. He will create turnovers. He will be a guy that opposing quarterbacks DO NOT want to test. His mere presence on the team will be a boost, as he brings a super bowl ring with him. And hopefully, many of you remember the role he played just two years ago....

Cliff Harris (CB, Oregon) is currently the #20 player on ESPN Big Board for the 2012 draft. 5"11 with room to add bulk to his 165 pound frame. Projects as a "fantastic" cover corner and is "deadly" in the return game. IMHO he is the PERFECT fit for the nickle corner position for Miami. His return capabilities are icing on the cake...
