Also known in steadily decreasing amounts around the interwebs as "Whale4ever", I'm the founder and managing editor of LitterBoxCats.com - SB Nation's home for the Florida Panthers since 2008. Been a NE/HFD Whalers fan stretching back to 1978, followed by several stops in South Florida thanks to an inherited status as a proud "Pratt Baby" (you know who you are), leading to a longtime love for the Cats which reaches to their birth in early 1993.

Miami Herald: Panthers' Huberdeau remains in South Florida as Cats head West

Developing, of course, but the latest from GR... The Panthers left his gear hanging in their locker room after the game while packing up the rest of the team. That would suggest Huberdeau was not on Florida's charter flight to California on Sunday night. Richards goes on to suggest Drew Shore could be the recall replacement before Tuesday's game.

FanShot via MySA: Panthers throwing Rampage under the bus?

"Let’s just say the Rampage offense will be diminished this weekend. Yes, this is the nature of the beast in the AHL, where your affiliation can work wonders when the right players are signed, sealed and connected. But when the callups catchup, it’s tough for the team to be competitive. Just ask the Abbotsford Heat, who led the West Division most of the season, but Calgary has come calling and the Heat is hurting, going 0-6-1-1 since the fire sale began." No, it's not a hit piece. More from MySA's Tony Uminski above.

FanShot link: Luongo symbolizes Florida Panthers revitalization

Via Stephen Whyno/CP... While the Canucks head in the direction of a rebuild, the Panthers look like a team on the upward climb thanks to new owner Vinny Viola and a cadre of young prospects GM Dale Tallon has assembled in the NHL's southernmost market. Through two games with his new team, Luongo has already caught a glimpse of what he and many hockey people believe is a bright future for the Panthers. Luongo sees potential stars in Jonathan Huberdeau, Nick Bjugstad and a handful more young players around the locker-room. At 34 years old, he wants to contribute to the revival of the franchise rather than riding coattails. "It's all about making a commitment to bringing some people in and trying to build a winner," Luongo said Sunday night after facing the Boston Bruins. "That's what it's all about for me. I'm not here to fade into the sunset. I want to be part of something special coming here."
