Okay, he's only been in Toronto a short time, but Yunel Escobar is already making a positive impression with this baseball club that is reminiscent of a great second baseman who played in this organization in the early 90's.

I'm talking about one Roberto Alomar who is one of the best second baseman I've ever seen play the game.

Of course, this post is in no way shape or form to compare Escobar to Alomar. For one, Escobar is a 27-year shortstop who until this point has accomplished very little at the major league level. And two, very few major league players played the game hard on a consistent basis like Alomar did.

However, after watching Escobar the last couple of weeks, you can't help but not to take notice of this guy's potential. Putting down bunt singles, hustling on the bases, playing great defence, is only something Jays fans were only use to observing on a regular basis when Roberto Alomar was wearing a Jays uniform...

Hope this guy sticks with this organization for awhile, because he has the capability to be an impact player for this team and also help put a few more people in the stands which the Jays desperately need....

Why is it every time there's a ground ball making it's way to third, you have to hold your breath and hope Encarnacion makes the play.

The most difficult problem most of us have with this guy, is that he shows no passion or effort each time he's out there.

However, there's actually one sports personality who does admire Encarnacion, and shockingly is Mike Wilner of the FAN.

Wilner has mentioned several times, Encarnacion deserves respect because of the fact he had one good major league year?

If Encarnacion is indeed a good major league player, why is it he can't play his positon or hit with men on base, hustle on the base pads or even have an adequate enough OBP..

Many times good players are criticized by the media , because they clearly are not meeting to their expectations.

Here we have a guy who's always been a below average Major League Baseball player and he get's praised for having potential which has never been delivered...

Forget about the fact the Jays have been just horrible in inter league play, the last thing most of us expected last week was the Indians to sweep all four games. As brutal as this club has been swinging the bat with men in scoring position, I thought it was a great opportunity for the struggling bats of Hill and Lind to come out of their season slumps just in time before their past weekend series against the Yankees.

But it has not turned out that way and some one has to take responsibility for that and rightfully hitting coach Dwayne Murphy along with manager Cito Gaston deserve to be heavily criticized.

The Jays are near the bottom in a number of hitting categories in MLB statistics, which clearly show no signs of improvement, so what's next?

We all know Cito Gaston likes his hitters to be aggressive at the plate however, what I can't understand is why is it when our batters are struggling a different approach is not encouraged, after all winning games should always be ahead of individual accomplishments, no?

This team should be trying to put down more bunts for singles, attempt more hit & run plays, suicide squeeze plays, especially with one outs and even sacrificing runners from one base to another, but as we all know this will never happen until Gaston's pioneer and ineffective managing style is no longer part of this organization...

When Roy Halladay was dealt to the Phillies last year, it was very difficult to project how the young and inexperienced pitchers in our starting rotation were going to reply coming to the 2010.

But Romero, Marcum, Cecil and Brendan Morrow have been nothing short of outstanding. The result, the team has performed above expectations and more importantly given hope to baseball fans in this city again, that there is a huge "bright light" waiting at the end of the tunnel after all.

Since being called from Las Vegas, David Purcey has seen very limited game action, but he has showed some potential to be affective coming out of the bullpen and there's a probable chance of the team giving him the opportunity to be a closer before the end of the season or next year.

Of course we shouldn't forget top prospect Kyle Drabek , who without question will be a part of this young rotation most likely next year, Mark Rzepckinski and even Dustin McGowan who had successive shoulder surgery recently, might return next year if rehabilitation goes well

I'm sick and tired hearing about how Tampa Bay has one of the best young rotations in baseball. Well! move over Rays, because there a team of new sheriffs in town and they are wearing a blue Jay uniform.
