I don't believe Romo alone would have won the game today.  Not unless he's allowed to put "Pinkie" in harm's way on Special Teams and Defense.  But there is something to be said for the guy that stands in the face of danger with his team looking for someone to rally around.

Well it was Tony that decided he couldn't do it, for better or worse, whether it was a good decision or a bad one, it may have cost him some Leadership Points with a punchless team that sorely needs a leader.

Wikre suffered a compound dislocation of his right pinky finger in the Mavs win over Fort Lewis last Saturday and was sent to the hospital for immediate medical attention. When doctors told Wikre that he would be sidelined for the remainder of the season he was devastated.

I'm kidding with reference to Romo of course, surely the pinky is far more important to a QB than a Safety or in this case, a Lineman.  But there's something to be said for a this kid's toughness.  He might have just elevated himself from complete obscurity to late 2nd day draft pick.

Now he's a good samaritan!  Wherever he's needed, T.O. is there.....

If you get mowed down by a Honda Civic, you'd be extremely lucky to have Terrell Owens nearby. You might think that he'd just stand there, do some shirtless sit-ups while you bled to death, insinuate that you're gay, and then demand to know why you don't throw footballs to him more often.

Not the case, as it turns out. Sam Alipour, a writer for ESPN's Page 2, found out the hard way that Owens is a kind-hearted fellow. After the ESPYs were taped on Wednesday night, Alipour was hit by a car. When he came to, here's what he saw:

I never thought I'd ever ever ever say that. Ever!!

But after reading articles like this from the Dallas Morning News, he may be the hardest working athlete outside of Michael Irvin to have ever worn a Cowboys uniform.  I know JJT wrote the article but how much time he spends rehabbing is fact.  He's hungry.

I remember reading about how Irvin would run routes and sprints until he puked and keep going. He was hungry for his first championship after recovering from a knee injury.

Now this.....

He works harder to get restore his body than he does when he's on the practice field. He went through rehab on Christmas Day. And New Year's Day. He's been working after hours on the Mavericks' underwater treadmill, which allows him to condition without putting stress on his ankle. He spends virtually every waking hour trying to get his ankle healthy enough to play and be the difference-maker the Cowboys need him to be to end their 10-year playoff drought. -- Dallas Morning News

"What we have seen for the past year is a very strong consumer demand for NFL Network. We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game. Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever."

The Cowboys were sitting with the first pick in the second round when Davis called. Davis, drafting 11th in the second round, badly wanted Penn State guard Steve Wisniewski and feared another team would snatch him.

Davis, the man in black and winner of three Super Bowls, was eager to make a deal with the rookie NFL coach.

"He said, 'Jimmy, this is the first time we've dealt with one another, and it will be a good experience,'" Johnson said. "I said 'Al, this is my first time, so I need an extra pick.'"

We all know that Bob Stoops is lying in bed, unable to sleep - mind racing about the thought of coaching America's Team. He's what 46 or 47 now?  He's been in OK since 98 and he's done all you can do there right? Tell me he's not lying there in bed saying "what if" to his wife right now, imagining himself in Silver and Blue, a star over his heart, walking the field of a brand new stadium.

That press statement was meant more to take the pressure off of him and deflect the media frenzy more than it was meant to take himself out of the picture, at least not entirely. A smoke screen.

If he is sleeping right this minute, he's dreaming about what could be the biggest opportunity of his life and all the WHAT-IFs that go with it. His racing mind will wake him up over and over again, what to do about the house, the kids, his team, the AD at OSU.  He squeezes his eyes shut to keep the fantasy from creeping back in.  It never works.

Give it a week, maybe two. He'll get his recruiting done and Jerry will have exhausted his search.  By then the media storm passes over OK and Jerry finds himself determined to get what he wants.  After all, he's hooked some pretty big Fish before....  The phone rings at the Stoops residence, it's after 8 and Bob tells his wife he'll be back in an hour, he has to personally decline a job offer.

Somewhere on an empty, dark tarmac in OK, Stoops finds himself sitting in a plane across from one of the best salesmen in the business.

I'm betting the pitch will be too hard to resist.
