I thought this was worth mentioning: for the 2nd year in a row, Texas A&M will finish in the top 10 in the NACDA DIrector's Cup standings that reward quality throughout the athletic department. The Aggies highest finishes in the standings have all come within the last 4 years and for the past two years they have beaten the Longhorns (only times thus far but while once might be a blip, twice might be a trend). While there may be individual sports or coaches that are disappointing and I know not everyone is a huge Bill Byrne fan, it's clear that the overall athletic department has taken a significant step forward in the last half decade or so.

I came across a complete set of 1982 Strat-o-Matic cards as I was getting ready to move.  It's in the original box along with some special season cards such as the 27 Yankees, 34 Cards, 61 Tigers, and 62 Giants.  I can't take it with me when I move as I'm really strapped for space, so if anybody has an interest let me know.

Just read on ESPN's ticker that we've traded Jorge Julio to the Rockies for Byung-Hyun Kim.  Kim hasn't done much at the big league level this year due to injury, but has a 2.96 ERA in 24+ innings in the minors (for what it's worth).

Any opinions on this trade?  Julio was a complete sunk cost at this stage so getting anything better than a bag of balls seems like a good thing.  It looks like we broke even on salary (Kim is due $2.5 million and we were paying Julio $2.6 of his $3.6 million dollar salary).
