Over the Monster Happy Holidays! Now what did you get?

Hey guys and gals,

Now that Theo seems to be close to setting the 2010 roster and the holiday season is over I figured we could see what has been keeping us all busy. There was no AGonz wrapped under the tree with care this Christmas, but hopefully St. Nick (or whoever your respective Holiday Gift Bringing is) brought you some other good sources of entertainment to keep you busy amongst the rampant trade speculations.

It seems like the first attempt at an Entertainment corner was succesful so I'm bringing it back once again (this should also help my putrid posting stats as evidenced in Randy's nice user rankings over here).

Here's what I've been doing instead of posting on a more consistent basis. Remember, you do not need to follow my categories to a T and the term "playing" does not simply refer to video games.

Over the Monster Who is your daddy and what does he do?

Alright, so I'm not really interested in your daddy, but after seeing the OTM book club idea and remembering that Talking Chop did this from time to time, I would like to know how the OTM members spend their time when not focused on baseball. I figure that the offseason would be as good of a time as any to do this since some, including myself, don't tend to follow the day to day stuff of baseball nearly as much as when the season is going on. So what exactly do we do during the offseason? I think this would give us a good chance to get to know our fellow OTMers, instead of just knowing things like Drugs is the guy that loves stats, or that NG is an undercover troll posing as a true fan.

So what do you do? I don't care what it is, if you like playing hopscotch in your free time or reading My Little Pony comics, good for you. The more variety the better. I'm always looking for new books, games or music to look into so if anybody felt like volunteering their current interests perhaps we can find more in common than just a love for the Sox and Peanut Butter.

Here is what I currently do to keep myself busy:

What am I playing: Currently I'm going between three games: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Borderlands and Dragon Age Origins (all for Xbox 360)

What am I reading: I've been on a fantasy binge because I'm trying to write a story of my own, I am currently finishing the book Redwall (read once growing up) and will move onto the trilogy Gotrek and Felix (part of the Warhammer series)

What am I listening to: I've been loving up this band The Format and the lead singers second project called fun.

What am I watching: Just finished the short-lived series Wonderfalls and first season of Cheers. Finishing the second season of Pushing Daisies. Not a big fan of movies now a days.

Don't feel like you need to elborate if you want to post, I just have a long lunch break to fill up and am interested in what the rest of this community does for fun.

Alright, well if anybody feels like sharing go for it. If there is anybody that is a big gamer and wants to get a game or something in through Xbox Live my gamertag is HookrsAndSpdrMn.

Over the Monster The sweep of the O's 9/20/09 in pictures (minus the beach ball, sorry crabchowdah)

Having just emptied my camera of its most recent pictures, I've decided to share with you pictures to compliment crabchowdah's lovely piece over yonder. The day was very lovely, hits were aplenty and I apparently only got tan on the left side of my face. For those of you who could not bask in the win as chowdah and I did, hopefully these pictures can give you a glimpse.

Let's start it off with this fella:

Dicek_pitch1_medium

Dice-K K'ed 5 Orioles batters while scattering 8 hits and a walk over five and a third. One of those hits unfortunately resulted in 2 of the 3 runs the Orioles would scratch out against Dice-K that afternoon. That's okay because the offense jumped out with 3 runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed, ending the day with a 9-run, 14-hit jubilee.

Over the Monster Kotsay

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet on the site, but with the recent trade I think we should be talking about our new asset. And that asset is Jamie Kotsay, Mark's wife. Red Sox Nation may very well now claim the membership of the hottest wife in major league baseball.

My roommate is a brave's fan so he showed me these a while ago, so if you have already seen them, sorry for the redundancy...but then again, one can never get enough of a good thing.
