Brew Hoop Derek Fisher?

What about Derek Fisher for our backup PG?  The Lakers are playing hardball with him per multiple sources and they already signed Steve Blake so his minutes are bound to go down regardless.  As much as he might like that team, with the way he's being treated after being so clutch in the playoffs you'd think he's ready to move on.

I know that Cleveland and Miami are probably frontrunners and you have to think that at this point in his career he'll definitely want to settle in with a contender but what about Milwaukee?  We have an electric team with a lot of options, we play in the East which is way easier, we are an established contender (and arguably much so with Fish in the lineup).  He'd instantly infuse a TON of playoff experience in the team, something that we are clearly lacking.  He lives for big moments so we'd have another guy on the court who's capable of closing alongside BJ and Maggette; he's a good guy and by all accounts a great teammate.

So Im not sure if we can afford him but if we can does anyone else like this route?  Would he even want to come here?  I know he's played in mostly warm climates over his career so that could be a detriment to our chances as well.

What do you guys think?

Clips Nation AFA needs a nickname...

I personally vote for "THE CHIEF"  or maybe just CHIEF ... I know I know, its lofty calling someone the leader of your tribe without every seeing his prowess as a warrior in the fierce and unforgiving NBA jungle.  But hear me out:

1.) First and foremost, AFA descends from a long line of Nigerian Kings...I know we all heard that on draft day about 50 times.  But still that's pedigree.

2.) His name literally means "The Chief has arrived." Everytime I hear that in my head I start hearing a drum beat and little Simba being held out over the entire jungle in Lion King with all the denizens bowing to it.

3.)  In March 2007, Aminu was arrested for aggravated assault and trespassing for shooting a woman with a BB gun from a vehicle.

The Chief has arrived...lets get dirty...go Clips!!!

Clips Nation New Clippers nickname idea...

So lately I have been very stressed out and was told by my doctor to avoid watching Clippers games for my health.  My blood pressure rises and heart rate dramatically increases for some reason when I watch turnovers on wide open break-aways and contested jumpshots with 20 seconds left on the shot clock.  However, now that they are winning a few games I have been cleared to watch tonights game against the Suns...lets hope the old Clippers don't show up and I end up having a stroke!

Anyway, that bit above was just to achieve the word-minimum qualification:

I propose the new, fully licensed nickname for the team formerly known as the Clippers is....drum roll please...THE SHIPWRECKS!

I think it definitely fits our roster and front office...the logo would change from that basketball zooming through the air (which has nothing to do with boats) to a schooner laid up over a rocky outcrop, framed in just the right way to resemble a torn ACL...if anyone can draw, I'd love to see some mockups.

Clips Nation Are you compatible with Mike Dunleavy Sr.?

I don't know what this is or where it came from but its really, really funny...

http://famous-relationships.topsynergy.com/Mike_Dunleavy_Sr/

A few excerpts if I may:

"His desire for harmonious relationships and surroundings is so strong that he avoids personal confrontation or any expression of intense, unpleasant emotions." - Uh yeah, that is unless a certain PG wants to run more or a certain fanbase wants to see winning basketball

"Mike has strong attachments to his past, the place where he grew up, his heritage and family traditions." - I can see that; after all, the dunce has basically destroyed or at least set back every team he's ever coached.

"Mike wants to contribute something positive and loving to the world at large and he wants to be recognized for his beauty" - If this is true, give up coaching Mike!  You are promoting ugly basketball...maybe take up BASKET WEAVING...

Clips Nation Very funny clip from The Onion...

Not sure if I laughed so hard to keep from crying or not, but I sure did get a kick out of this...

And just as a side note because I need more words in this post, I think Craig Smith is going to be huge for us this year. He has width under the basket that we dont get from Camby or Kaman but he is also very athletic for a guy his size.  I remember seeing flashes of that when he was at Boston College but now it looks like he has really learned to use his body effectively.
