September OT Thread
Hey it's really almost hockey season again. Fantasy Hockey is already up and running. Training camp and preseason are just around the corner. Then we'll get to see how the lines and d-pairings will really shape up instead of all the conjecture (which is absolutely fun don't get me wrong).
But this thread is to talk about non-hockey stuff. Fantasy Football is here and I'm freaking worried out of my mind. I have been paying no attention this offseason, no mock drafts, very little research done as of yet. * EEP *. But all is not lost! The Niners are gonna roll out this QB who was the 1st pick overa- oh it's Alex Smith. Still.
Never mind.

July OT Thread
Been about a week and no one's made one so here we go. There's been a lot of on-topic activity with all the trade madness. Kinda interesting that the team's gone under such significant changes when DW has only been looking for "tweaks more than an overhaul."

Bay Area Native Signs with Sharks
Hopefully this turns out better than the Jeremy Lin experiment...
RUH ROH! Stalock hurt in Friday's Worcester game
Stalock hurt after reassignment. Niitty was supposed to be close to ready too, but it looks like he reaggravated his injury. What now? Hutton call up in the afternoon to back up, then reassigned for the night game? Is that even possible within the rules? =S
The friendly city wager has been made.
Food is on the line, so you know it's on. Loser treats.
I had no clue that Eggo Waffles were from San Jose.
Maybe NCAA Div. I Hockey in California Isn't Such a Crazy Idea After All...
This topic was discussed briefly in another thread, but here's an interesting article from THN about how some feel California is ready for Div. I hockey.
No mention of SJSU as a good candidate though.
Worcester Sharks Report: From a San Jose Fan's Perspective
[Editor's Note]: DownRUPLYB has a great piece about his experience attending a Worcester Sharks game. Be sure to check it out.
Hey everyone, just thought I'd chime in on my recent trip to see the Baby Sharks. I apologize for the essay ahead of time. I also won't go too much into the details of the game itself - Darryl Hunt's got that avenue covered. I'm here more to relate the vibe that I got from the whole experience.
Before I go into it though, I just want to send a shout-out to Darryl, Rich and Josie who were nice enough to welcome us San Jose Sharks fans in Worcester. Rich and Josie are husband and wife who lead the Worcester Sharks Booster Club (see also www.worcestersharks.org) and were instrumental in bringing the AHL back to Worcester after the IceCats left. And as some of you may know, Darryl is the beat writer for Worcester on Sharkspage. Rich was even nice enough to provide us complimentary tickets to the game which was greatly appreciated. They went above and beyond in welcoming us to Worcester and they deserve a great amount of thanks.

This might be old news, but I just saw this new Marleau+Heatley background image at the official site. Refreshed the page multiple times to see if it was going to rotate with the Boyle+Thornton background image, but this one looks like it's going to be the sole image employed for the time being. Glad Patty's getting some much-deserved love through the official lines again.
Any FTFers ever been to a WorSharks game before?
Kinda OT, but I'm scheduled to visit Boston in two weeks and I'd like to catch some hockey while I'm there. Unfortunately, I don't have the luck to have my trip coincide with a Sharks visit in Boston and the B's aren't in town anyway.
So next best thing: Go to a Worcester Sharks game. Considering the extent of the SJ-Woostah Shuttle, there's gonna be a lot of familiar faces on the ice and I'm really looking forward to watching the Sexy/Stalock show (man that sounds wrong).
Just wondering if anyone else here has ever been, including the best way on getting there from Boston. I've never been to Boston before so any other advice or recommendations are also welcome! Thanks!
Marleau named NHL's Third Star of the Week
Marleau got some league-wide love for his beastly play last week (3G, 6A). Didn't see Cammalleri's highlights, but kinda irked that he got Second star with 3 less points than Patty, but what can you do?*
*They could award Marleau the goal from Atlanta that was deemed after the whistle. With 10 points, he'd even have a shot at First Star.
