Played HS Football and was one of the state's top prospects with many scholarship offers before a major car accident ended my football career my junior year in HS. Just a regular guy who has been rooting for the Phinz since birth it seems. Marino will always be the greatest ever, and Zach Thomas had more heart than most NFL teams combined.

Charles Grant
Hey everyone. As I am sure that most of you know the Phins recently signed DE Charles Grant who was released by the Saints after the SB was over. To me, it kind of seemed like there wasn't really any mention or disscussion about this since it happened, but then again I was gone on vacation all of last week.
I knew some about Grant, knowing that he was a former first round pick and all, but I still didn't know enough to form a valid opinion about him and his playing style. So I thought that I would turn to the Saints fans, who I think have been a classy bunch when visiting our site. Check the link below:
http://www.canalstreetchronicles.com/2010/8/2/1602281/charles-grant
They basically confirmed my suspicions. When motivated and healthy he can impact a drive/game. Not quite a game-changer, but can be a definite force. Unfortunetaly that is WHEN he is motivated and WHEN he is healthy. Sounds like he has a great motor...but the problem is getting the tank filled with enough octane....and keeping said engine out of the repair shop.
So I, for one, think that this is a great pick-up for the injury depleted Finz. Reasoning is that if anyone can motivate a player and keep them in-line it is the trifecta. Since the trifecta is a no non-sense group I would imagine that they have let Charles know that they have no problem cutting him in a heartbeat should he not be up for the task of playing for this team.
Do I think he will be a complete stud on the line? No. I do however think that he adds quality depth and can help out this team while they try to get Odrick up to
So what do you all think?
Charles Grant
Hey Big Easy, a Phins Fan here. Since I think you guys are a classy bunch (based on the few that have visited the Phins blog) I was kind of wondering about Charles Grant. The Phins quietly signed him a couple of days ago, but not much has been mentioned about him and his possible role with the team. I do know a little bit about him, but think that a Saints fan perspective would possibly be some insight about him. What are his biggest strengths and weakness? I know that we are all touchy about first round picks status, so if you were to put his draft status aside what would you really say about him? Thanks guys!
Peezy Release Due to Performance
First of all, I know this is a Joey Porter post...and damn me for doing it, but I just had to share this. Wow, don't know if anyone else saw this article yet, but Ireland has some big brass ones! He came out and said that Joey Porter is being released strictly for his lack of performance on the field and not his big mouth off of it. LOL. Take that with you Peezy! You didn't think that you were actually going to be able to run your mouth and talk crap and not get fired back upon, now did you? At the end of the day what ever Ireland or Tuna says is exactly why you get released, not what you decide it to be. They hold your contract, thus you are released in accordance to why they say you are! They could even say that you had a massive hemorrhoid that was grossing out teammates which is why you are being released....and guess what, they can say it was the reason if they wanted to!
Go ahead and put that in your lunchbox and take it home with you J Pissy.
Phinsider Roster -Defense
Well, since nothing is going on but speculation and I am tired of every single persons mock draft or wishlist or wet dream thoughts...I thought I would have a little fun and make a Phinsider Roster whose spots will be explained. Starting with defense...here we go:
The Phinsider runs a 3-4 defense, thus:
NT- UncleFinster...guy can plug the middle of a blog all by himself. And have you seen that mug? Talk about a game-face.
RDE -RZ...some of the best DE's to have played this game are boarderline psychotic....nuff said
LDE-OFF4L....see RDE explanation, but to the 2nd power
SOLB- fr8train...while he is infatuated with BM he likes smashing people better. guy can cover a TE just like he covers every blog with his undying love for BM
MLB -Mosul...you want your field general to have knowledge or at least a tank
MLB -LCFF...is always on top of it, and ball carriers
WOLB -Tunaflipper...like his name states, guy can flip a blog or RB upside down
LCB -LittleNicky...has won more awards than, well, anyone. takes a beating from fellow teammates
from time to time, but he is $ in the end. plus I heard that he likes to drape himself all over guys
RCB -Mr.Medic....while everyones hearts generally stop when the ball is heaved downfield he will keep them beating with his play...or at least with his defribrillator
FS -WildZionBeaver...most of us here cant understand half of what he is saying or doing...just like the other team will be even more confused than we are, turnover maximus
SS -myself...of course I make the team and at my position of choice, you need to scare the crap out of other teams and sometimes I even scare myself..I mean, have you seen my comments in a CKC?
So there it is ladies and gents. Just tyring to have a little fun here. Dont take it personal if you weren't listed on here...there is still the offense to get to, and other various positions within the team. Feel free to make suggestions...but I have quite a few in mind. Can I at least get some rec's for not making this about Dansby, Bryant, Spiller, or McClain??

Peezy Interview With Tiki Barber
What a total douche-bag. I get some of what he is saying, and I guess I could relate but you dont go public like this...and dont dog on your own teammates, especially specific names and give it to the media. What a big crybaby. Anywayz, here is the link....Matty, put this on the front page!!
Seacrest, out.
Biggest Impressions of 09
Well fellow phinsiders it is going to be another anticipation filled offseason for all of us here at the phinsider. The rumors swirl, the possibilities are endless, and our wishlists continue to grow. On that note, Mike Nolan coming to the phinz is just another great move by the trifecta. Recite after me; IN THE TRIFECTA I TRUST! Now that we have that out of the way, I just wanted to take a moment to share what I thought were the biggest impressions on me about this team during this rollercoaster season. This year there were cheers, jeers, fears, and tears (look out Dr. Seuss!). Here we go:
1. *Biggest Surprise* -There is two different ways that I could go with this one. First would be just how well Henne handled the pressure of becoming the starting quarterback via an injury to CP10. Was he phenominal? Not by most means. Was he terrible? Nope. Did he prove anything? Damn straight he did, he ONLY proved that he is indeed the QB of the future for this team. That, to me, was huge. It made a big impression on me since I was on the fence with Henne going into this season meaning that I wasn't saying he was the next Marino and I wasn't saying he was the next John B....well, you know whos name that shall not be mentioned. I was simply going to let the kid either win me over or turn me sour, and he definitely won me over. I am not saying that he will be Drew Brees or Peyton Manning next year, but he is surely going to get better. Let us all let out a big sigh of relief, we finally have some stability at that position and it is about damn time. --The next direction that I could have gone with this one is Brian Hartline. Is this kid a player or what? Kid has a fire in his belly that you just can't help but cheer for. He isn't the biggest, or fastest, or strongest player out there....but he sure as hell gives 100% every single play. Need a long pass play? Sure, he made it happen. Need some help on special teams? Sure, balls to the wall and gets that tackle more than anyone else. Is he a #1 WR? No. Is he a player that we want on this team for the next decade? YES. If he played baseball he would be the utility player, a guy that will get the job done no matter what you ask him to do. And all of this from a 4th round draft pick that Mel Kipper mocked....go put some more aquanet on that skunk on your head will ya Mel?!?!?
2. *Biggest Dissapointment* -This honor is going to be won by two people. No, the name Ginn is not one of them...that is because, well, going to quote Dennis Green on this one "they were who we thought they were!!" This award goes to the invisible men of the team....Gibril Wilson and Patrick Turner. Gibril was virtually invisible in coverange and was only seen when being stiff-armed to the ground by the opposing players...pretty much any TE or RB we played this year. Note to self, don't take on Raiders cast-offs. Next is Turner. Like most of you I was buying into the hype in the offseason with offseason camps about how amazing this guy was. If I told you all during those reports about him that he wouldnt even see the field this year you would have all claimed blasphemy. In other words, epic dissapointment...and darn us for buying into the hype, example anyone that was on the Brandwagon this time last year...nuff' said.
3. *Biggest Assurance* -This one goes hands down to Ricky. Does anyone still doubt that this guy can still play at an elite level? How amazing was he to this team. Some were sad to see the WC go, others were glad. One thing is for sure, we all enjoyed another 1000+ yard performance by Run Ricky Run. I hope he decides to stick around a few more years...there is still plenty of gas left in that tank.
4. *Biggest Step Forward* -The passing game is what most of you would pick on this one. Well, it wouldnt be a wrong choice, but it wouldnt be the right one either. Fact is, without those guys in the trenches there wouldnt have been a passing game. No doubt this one goes to the offensive line. If Ronnie stayed healthy it was a great possibility that we could have had two 1,000 yard rushers on this team in one season. WIthout these guys Henne wouldnt have been able to stand upright for most of the game. The reason that they really get the nod is how they handled all of the injuries this year. There were back-up back-up players in there and this unti still managed to gel and get the job done. That in itself is the very essence of the word TEAM.
5. *Biggest Step Backwards* -Unfortunately this one goes to the D. Could it have been a bad vanilla style defense that did this unit in? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way they didnt move in the right direction. Now, that being said, I think the trifecta are building a great unit for the future. How good did the new Madison/Surtain combo play even though they were rookies? Not stellar but surely not like 2 starting rookies. A couple mistakes here and there...but what rookies havent made mistakes? I have complete faith that they will be the DB's that teams dread playing in the future. Wake is a beast, a little polishing and some work on his all around game and we have a QB Smasher of the future...this will only be furthered by either the departure of JT or Peezy unless one is willing to get less playing time which isnt likely. I would love to see a few more pieces added this offseason and we know the trifecta will keep building this unit. Adding Nolan was another huge step in the right direction. But, this unit for the 09 season was the biggest step backwards.
So tell me what you all think. Vote below and start sounding off. Would love to hear from all of my fellow phinatics!!
