Be patient Blazer fans

It's been a long couple of weeks for the Blazers and it isn't getting any easier. But I for one am enjoying myself watching Lillard grow and Batum slowly blossom into the player we know he can be. I personally receive a lot of negative feedback these days about the Blazers but I always tell them we have a bright future with our new PG and we should be in line for a big signing this summer to help this team.

My question to you is what's a realistic option for this team? We have a future All Star PG, we have an All Star PF and a very solid SF. We need either a very good C or SG (oh and a bench)

Who would you like to see in a Blazer uniform next season? (realistically speaking) Whether it be a big trade or free agent, or even a role player who can help our bench.

For me it would be Greg Monroe and DeMar Derozan.

2013 NBA Free Agent Class

Considering Aldridge stays healthy and becomes an all star again. Say Lillard turns into a solid PG and fills are PGOTF spot, and Batum slightly improves and stays relatively consistent along with not punching people in the family jewels. Who would be our best bet at signing next off season to make the Blazers contenders? Here is a list of the top 10 players for each position that the Blazers NEED which is obviously not PF.

Within the past few weeks I have been following everything just like you. When we offered Hibbert the max I was ecstatic. Along with possibly adding another good player in his prime got me very excited. I love winning, I love seeing winning and the Blazers were going in that direction.

Now the Blazers look like there taking a seat and not doing a whole lot. Olshey is signing all this young talent that has "potential" I'm not a fan of bringing in 5 rookies. With all this cap space and Batum and Wes decent trade bait, it seems to me we could have chased players as Mcgee or Tyreke. Who both could help this team win now and for the future.

But now, we have to wait around and watch these players with "potential" play in an 82 game season. It's going to be long, I just hope someone really surprises me, maybe Lillard?

Hibbert and Iguodala?

I have literally been living on this website the last 2 weeks. I work sometimes 12 hour days and am checking my phone every hour. I'm obsessed at this point (ridiculous I know) But I heard their could be a possibility we land Iggy. Would it as well be possible to get Hibbert on the same team? Meaning salary wise. Obviously Wes would probably have to go and there would be no Batum. But a trio of them 3 being La,Hibbert,Iggy is VERY exciting along with Lillard having a strong chance to be a very solid pg.

Yes I know we most likely won't win a championship with that team; but ya never know! Pacers were pretty darn close to making it to the east finals last year. You would have to believe a team with Lillard,Iggy,?,Aldridge,Hibbert, have a good chance to at least make it to the WCF. If anything would stir some excitement for this team. I could see it being a 55-56 win team.

To sum it up, do we have the cap space to do this?

Our team will go from average to good. Not great, nor elite. We can be great if Lillard pans out and becomes a viable starting PG (in which I think he will) But we need another player. If we sign Hibbert to the max, then re sign Batum or even sign and trade. Who can we possibly get to help this team go to great or elite status and compete in the playoffs? Remember he has to be in Aldridge and Hibberts age range for the future 21-29 (no aging vets) preferably indicating what Olshey said.

How much cap space will be available? Who could we snag in free agency with what is left, or what are the most realistic targets we go after in trades? Assuming Batum or Matthews can be trade bait. We need a viable scoring option who can create for himself and be solid in the fourth. But who Portland? WHO?

And please don't tell me Ewill. I'm tired of hearing that one.

Thursday Trades

I have been doing a lot of reading on here as of late, I recently read a great piece by timmy and it made a lot of sense to me. I believe we need to target guys Aldridge's age. I read an article earlier suggesting that players like Luol Deng, Rudy Gay, Danny Granger, Joe Johnson, Josh Smith. Andre Iguodala, Tyreke Evans, and Kevin Martin all are in position to potentially being shopped. The majority of them are all entering or are in there primes give or take.

I believe the Blazers need to take this route, we need to think about winning, we don't have the 1st pick in the draft or even the 2nd. Yes, the 6th and 11th are great but not complete franchise changing picks. We NEED a big three.

Look at today's NBA, Wade,Lebron,Bosh,Durant,Westbrook,Harden,Parker,Ginobli,Duncan,Kobe,Bynum,Gasol,Gay,Randolph,Gasol. Just about every single elite to near elite team has a "big 3" I think Olshey needs to target this big 3 while the market is hot on Thursday. Imagine Aldridge playing with Tyreke Evans and Danny Granger. Wouldn't that be a sight? Or Aldridge with Iguodala and Luol Deng? I'm not saying those particular players would work or the salaries match or anything, I'm just trying to paint a picture. We need a big 3, and this off-season is that season to strike.

The free agent market will be big next season. And this draft is deep, but if we want a chance of winning a championship withing 2 years we need this route, and the Blazers are very capable of doing it. I want a championship, I don't know about you.

Trade 6,11,40,41 for the #2 pick.

Trade LaMarcus Aldridge + Nolan Smith to Washington for the #3 pick.

Sign Batum, trade Batum + Matthews for Golden States 7th pick.

You take Thomas Robinson with the 2nd overall pick.

You select Michael-Kidd-Gilchrist or Harrison Barnes (whichever you prefer) with the 3rd pick.

Then you take Damian Lillard with the 7th pick.

You throw big money at OJ Mayo and Javale Mcgee and within 3 years your competing for a championship.

You get an extremely young team who with the right coach could be competing with OKC for the west in 3 years.

I was doing a little research on the guy. And hes really starting to prove he can be good. He had one of the best combine results out of anyone as well.

"If he won't be the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Thomas Robinson is expected to be the second big selected.

As recent expected No. 2s Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley did, Robinson is walking around as if the team with the No. 1 pick just may be making a mistake by not picking him.

Robinson was about two hours late for his 1 p.m. scheduled media appearance at the Draft Combine in Chicago on Thursday. Scheduled at the same time as expected No. 1 pick Anthony Davis, Charlotte media folks were quick to establish positioning at Robinson's table, hoping Davis would absorb the crowd.

Instead, those waiting for Robinson saw Davis come and go with 22 other prospects over the next hours before Robinson appeared.

After about five minutes of not really being worth the wait, Robinson was asked about Davis' T-shirt, which read, "CHECK THE STATS."

"If you check the stats, I'll be the number one pick -- easily," Robinson replied. "I should wear a shirt that says: 'Numbers Don't Lie'."

He added: "I think I play at a different level than everybody else. A different intensity level. Everybody don't show up every night. I'd say I'm one of the players that do."

When asked if he would take out frustrations on teams that pass on drafting him, he replied: "I'm gonna try to kill everybody."

Hes definitely confident and seems like he can back it up. Seems like he may have something to prove in the NBA. If I were the Blazers I would be trying very hard to obtain that #2 pick.

Should we package Aldridge and #11 to OKC for Westbrook? TRob And Westbrook would be amazing...Don't get me wrong I love LA but if TRob panned out and became a star...Oh a man can dream.
