I just wanted to give a public thank you to AMAC for making Miner Rush a GREAT site for Miner fans.  It is starting to become one of the great SB Nation blogs.  The game day threads with all of the rest of the work that AMAC does really gives us a great place to talk all things MINERS.  Lets continue to support him and this great site.  I am doing my best to be there for the game day threads and commenting on his during the week normal threads.  Let's continue to grow this and reccommend it to all of the other Miner fans we know so that it keeps growing.  All of you fans out there that are MINER RUSH members that don't comment yet, don't be shy!!  Join the conversation and let us hear what you think.  thanks to MinerMike and MinerManiax and all of the others that are involved so far.  AMAC can't do it on his own.  Lets show our support and make this one of the best SB Nation Blogs out there!!!!

ESPN has an article on their NCAA Basketball front page today on Coach Tim Floyd.  I expected a hit piece, but it is actually a pretty good article that seems to be pretty fair.  It highlighted the challenges that he has had in the past but didn't pass judgement.  It seemed to be fairly sympathetic actually.  Hilighted his ties to El Paso and how he feels to be back.  Just nice to see UTEP front and center on ESPN.

Does Boise State's win change anyone's outlook on reallignment?  If they win out and are in the discussion for the BCS Championship game does it change the landscape and give the MWC some leverage in getting some sort of merger done with C-USA?  Does TCU and Boise State's newfound status coupled with the possible emergence of a super conference push the quest of an AQ over the top?  I think that last nights win will re-generate talk and I think it would probably be prudent to be proactive in at least looking at options so as to not be on the outside looking in if something big does happen. 

For those of you out there that are using the IPHONE and interested,  I found a cool app.  It is called "college super fans"  and it is a sports scoreboard app that comes in different schools themes including UTEP.  I just went to the search page in the app store and typed in UTEP and it showed up.  It costs 1.99 to buy.  The app is decent with the added bonus that it puts a UTEP icon on your phone.
