Revenge of the Birds Who do you think are the top 13 guys on the Cardinals' Draft Board?

Several fans of other team blogs have come on here recently asking who they think the Cardinals will draft this year. I am a firm believer that, if possible, the Cards will trade down this year to pick up a second round pick (let’s hope Tannehill falls to 13 and maybe we can cut a deal). However, assuming they cannot find a draft partner I believe the Cardinal FO will Draft BPA again this year, just like last year with PP. My guess of the Cardinals board (DRAFT BOARD NOT ANTICIPATED DRAFT ORDER) top 13 is after the bump

I buy extra tickets to the Cardinals games to get a third parking pass. Usually I have no problem getting rid of them for face value on craigslist or giving them to a client, but thus far no interest in the last two games of the season so I have two extra tickets to the Cardinals v. Browns and Cardinals v. Seahawks.

Sec 422 Row 17. They are pretty high up but give a great view of the game. I paid $30 per ticket.

I will take $50 for the pair for Seattle. Make me an offer for the cleveland game. Email me bjabbas@cox.net

Revenge of the Birds Kevin Kolb Deal Poll, 3rd Quarter Version: Was It A Good Deal?

This is the fifth in a series of polls on the Kolb for DRC and a second trade. I want to track ROTB members' opinions of the deal as the season progresses.

The first poll was right after the trade occurred. The initial poll was actually much closer than I thought it would be with 55% voting it was a good deal and 44% voting it was not. The second poll was taken after the preseason. The second poll had an amazing 88% of voters voting that the Kolb deal was a good deal for the Cardinals. The third poll was after the fourth Cardinals' regular season game. At that time the Cardinals were 1-3 with three straight losses. The third poll had come down slightly to 74% of ROTBers voting that the Kolb deal was a good deal for the Cardinals. The fourth poll was after 8 games and thanks to being placed on the main page by the ROTB coaching staff got significantly more votes. Only 39% voted yes with 60% voting no. The Cardinals were at 2-6 with Kolb is 1-6 as the Cardinals' starter. Skelton played a game, due to a Kolb injury, and the Cardinals managed a win, albeit against another pretty bad NFL team the Rams.

Since then Skelton has played three more games and although a very vocal group on ROTB thought a qb controversy was brewing, Skelton appears as inconsistent as Kolb and if there ever was a controversy the coaches did not appear to agree. The Cardinals are now 5-7 having won three of the last 4 games since the last poll. After missing the first three games since the last poll, Kolb finally returned from his injury in the last game of this quarter of the season and the team got a hard win over huge rival Dallas with an offensive score in overtime. Cards fans are again mentioning the playoffs, though I personally think they are borderline delusional but I understand this is the beauty of being a Cardinal fan. I will agree the playoffs are not yet a statistical impossibility.

Some have also pointed out that DRC has not made much of an impact in Philly. The argument is that while he was a first round pick, he was no longer performing at an elite db level.

Revenge of the Birds Kevin Kolb Deal Poll, Halftime Version: Was It A Good Deal?

This is the fourth in a series of polls on the Kolb for DRC and a second trade. I want to track ROTB members' opinions of the deal as the season progresses. Obviously, the Kolb trade is a huge event for the future - whether it was a positive step, a negative step or just a sideways step remains to be seen. I put up a poll right after the trade. The initial poll was actually much closer than I thought it would be with 55% voting it was a good deal and 44% voting it was not. The second poll was taken after the preseason. The second poll had an amazing 88% of voters voting that the Kolb deal was a good deal for the CardinalsThe third poll was after the fourth Cardinals' regular season game. At that time the Cardinals were 1-3 with three straight losses. The third poll had come down slighly to 74% of ROTBers voting that the Kolb deal was a good deal for the Cardinals.

The fourth poll is in this post today. I will again be interested to see where the voting goes with the Cardinals at 2-6. Kolb is 1-6 as the Cardinals' starter. Skelton played a game, due to a Kolb injury, and the Cardinals managed a win, albeit against another pretty bad NFL team. Opinions in other threads appear all over the board about Kolb and Skelton.

I will put up other polls after game 12, one after the completion of the regular season and hopefully one after the Cards finish their playoff run.

Feel free to leave comments, especially if you are changing your vote from a previous poll and why you are changing your vote. Each poll will be yes or no only. This poll will be open up until about game time Sunday morning.

Can someone explain to me how to vote on the fan confidence poll entitled "How are you feeling about the Cardinals?" that sometime comes up on the left hand side of the site.
I have tried keying in a number in place of the 5 and clicking and holding to slide the arrow, but nothing seems to work. It will let me click on the vote button, but I have no idea what number my vote is at.

Revenge of the Birds Extra Cards Tickets For Sale

I buy extra Cardinal's season tickets in the upper level and sell them in a effort to defer the cost of my lower level seats. Trust me, I don't get rich doing it, but by paying for the upper level seats in the spring and selling them in the fall I do usually make enough to cover the cost of about 1/2 of my lower level seats for the season. Check after the jump for seats and games I have available.

Got my Cards tickets in the mail today!!! Go Cards!!!

almost 2 years ago Northern_cardinal-1600x1200_tiny Drullin'OverDaCards 2 comments

Yahoo has an interesting site where you can enter wins, loses, and ties for this week to see how the games alter the playoff seeding.

While the 6 NFC teams are set, the seating is still really up for grabs from 2nd to 6th.

If the Cards win and Minn loses and Philly loses, Cards get #2 seed.
If the Cards win and either Minn or Philly lose, Cards get the #3 seed.
If they all three win or the cards lose, Cards get the #4 seed.

Philly and Dallas both have the potential to land anywhere from the #2 seed with a win to the #6 seed with a loss depending on the outcome of the other games. Interesting stuff.

Insider Info Needed From Pathers Fans

Anybody heard anything on whether DeAngelo Williams is gonna play or not. I have Stewart and will play him either way, but I could put in Beanie Wells or Correll Buckholter if Deangelo is going to be in street clothes. Thanks for any input.

I realize he may not be the smartest QB in the league, but I truly don't know how he can see like that. I check other game shots, he always wears it that low. Compare it to Peyton Manning or Warner

Apparenlty Boldin was not too happy about how he was, or maybe wasn't, informed that he was inactive for the bears game. So the trade rumors surface again. Here is Whiz's response.

So any thoughts on where this is all going?

Revenge of the Birds Will the Real Arizona Cardinals Please Remain Standing Up?

Well, as some of you may recall, I asked the Real Arizona Cardinals to Please Stand Up last week that talked a little bit, in no particular order, about some of my thoughts on the game. One of my points in asking the question was to get the team to play up to their potential. The Cardinals responded with a great win at the Meadowlands in NYC, so i decided to continue this week with another post asking the Cardinals to keep being the team we hope they can be.

Revenge of the Birds Will the Real Arizona Cardinals Please Stand Up?

Well, here we are two wins in  a row,  3-2  and approaching a big game in last year's dreaded eastern time zone. While it's just one game, I see this as the type of game that winning or possible even losing in a hard fought game would establish the Cardinals as an NFC force. On the other hand losing (ala last years Patriots game) would mean the Cardinals are just a team in the hunt to win the worst divsion in the NFC. Barring a solid win or a dismal loss, this game won't mean any more than any other, but I am hoping the team takes this opportunity to stand up and show us what we all beleive they could be. Will the Real Arizona Cardinals Please Stand Up?

Other thoughts on the upcoming game in no particular order:

The Giants have some injuries that could assist the Cards, but they are also coming off a humbling loss in New Orleans, so they should be primed to play. The Cards have Boldin with a possible injury and Breaston who seems to be playing through his injury quite well.

The Giants are a 7 point favorite.

I am looking forward to seeing the Cards run D against the Giants RB's.

Weather for Sunday at Meadowlands High 53 Low 41, 20% chance of rain, 13 mph winds. Game time temperature should be around 50. Meadowland is known (or at least rumored) to have a wind effect. The wind will not be helpful to the Cards.

Cardinals have been dismal in the Eastern time zone in the past, but this is a night game.

Manning actually has a better road win percentage than at home (interesting). See http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=1447#more-1447 for a rather interesting analysis and theory on why the Jets and Giants have some of the worst home win to away win ratios in football.

Last match up Nov. 23, 2008, NEW YORK GIANTS 37 CARDS 29

Since reallignment of the divisions the Cards and Giants are 2-2

Cards have lost 3 in a row on the road playing the Giants and last beat the Giants in the Meadowlands in 1999 (ouch!).

Previous Meetings (last 10 years)  record 4 W - 6 L

Sept. 11, 2005, At NY Giants L 19-42

Nov. 14, 2004, NY Giants W 17-14

Sept. 29, 2002, N.Y. Giants W 21–7

Dec. 15, 2001, At N.Y. Giants L 13–17

Revenge of the Birds What would you give Andy Reid for Vick?

With the trade deadline approaching and the Eagles having no real need for Vick, let's say they put him out there as trade bait. Vick is getting $1.6M ($100,000 per game) for this year with a team option for $5M next year. The huge PITA demonstrations have not occurred and there really doesn't seem to be a huge PR hit to the Eagles in having signed Vick. Vick also appears not to be a very good fit for the Eagles.

Several teams are really struggling and need a spark. Several coaches are on the hot seat. Some teams are performing well, but could use a wildcat.

Pick an NFL team that you are the GM or coach of and explain what you would be willing to give up for Vick and why?

Daily Norseman "It seems quiet . . . . too quiet"

Said the packer fan as he approached the Metrodome right before he was crushed by AD on his way to the endzone or the Williams wall on the way to Aaron Rodgers.

But seriously, I logged on DN thinking there would be a ton of trash talk brewing and sadly haven't found enough fire to start the fermentation process on some good mead. Where is everybody? Are ya'll just saving it for 5:30 (arizona time). Where is REVENGE4FARVE and everyone else. It's only 2 1/2 hours away. I have to leave work early to plant my butt on the sofa for this one. This is the game we've all been waiting for, so let's start a game score prediction thread. Prize is for bragging rights and my belly button lint from wearing my old Fran Tarkenton jersey during the game (er, you have to pay shipping if you really want the lint).

Pick the winning team and the final score for both teams. The winner of contest will be determined first by picking the winning team, second by closest to the winning team's score and third (if necessary) by closest to the losing team's score.  Your prediction has to be in before kickoff or it doesn't count.

Packer fans can play (I guess) although I suggest picking the Vikings if you want to get past the first criteria. :-')

I'm going with 24-17 Vikings.
