Magic Close To Deal For Turkoglu, Richardson
The Magic and Suns are close to finalizing a trade that would send Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson and Earl Clark to the Magic for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a first round pick and $3 million.
Sources say the deal has a 90 percent change of happening and would be completed within the next 24 hours.
Orlando is simultaneously engaged in trade talks with the Wizards to send Rashard Lewis to Washington in exchange for Gilbert Arenas.
I love JRich too much and I am not sure if VC can run like he use to. But we have miracle workers in the Suns. Who knows?
What do you guys think?
Earl Baron
Earl Baron is not going to be resigned with Knicks.
Why don't we try to get him? He seems to have solid skills for a big man. He also has a really nice touch around the rim. he can also rebound pretty well and aggressive.
The only problem I see with him would be to for him to bulk up. If, he can gain some weight then he would be good enough to guard the bigger centers.
He will be cheap too. I think we should take a stab at him.
What you guys think?
Lakers Lost. Suns Possible Gain?
Hi everyone,
This is my first post but I been following this forum for a quite a while. Okay, I am going to get straight to the idea I thought of.
As you guys know Lakers decide to not resign Mbenga. I know he is not exactly the "best" center out there but there is still a lot not known about him. He was never given any mins ever. I think he could be an excellent fit behind Lopez.
I think his strongest asset is definitely his defense skills. He has pretty good shot blocking abilities. His big and strong body would also be good against any big centers. He will prove to be useful in the Western playoffs when we are going to face some big center such as Bynum, Yao, or possibly Jefferson.
I understand his main weakness is his offense. However, I honestly think that people don't give him much credit for it. He seems to be able to hit his 15 ft jumpers pretty constantly. I am sure that he will get a couple pound and hustle pts too. That should be good enough since he will only be a back up. He will mostly come off the bench providing Lopez with some rest and maintain the defense presence that the Suns need to win.
He also seems to be very supportive with his team. He has never cause any trouble within the Lakers and has never publicly complain about his playing time. Actually, now that I thought about it, he did get in a fight with Sasha in practice but that only happened because Sasha is a douchebag so that incident doesn't really count.
My last point to possibly get him is because of his cheap salary. We would only probably have to pay him 800 - 1.1 mil a year. That is a reasonably price for a 7 ft footer that get defend well, score a couple, and give valuable rest to the still injury venerable Lopez.
On yeah, he might also provide the Suns with some valuable information to beat the Lakers the coming season during the Western Conference Finals. (For people don't think that is possible for the Suns to make the WCF again: We can always dream and aim high? Haha)
Well, that was just something I thought about when I saw the news of Mbenga today. I hope that could possible provide some useful insight.
