VA TECH PRE-GAME PRESS FROM VIRGINIA
I have been living out here in "HOKIE/CAVALIER" Country for many years and I can tell you I am REALLY looking forward to this week-ends' game with Virginia Tech. In the event anyone is interested, I can post the links to articles from our local paper out here in the Norfolk, Virginia area for this week-end's game. There could be some interesting little things come out. Here's the first one:

Wyoming - Nebraska in Denver?
Saw this posted by the Rocky Mountain News: WYOMING MAY PLAY NEBRASKA AT INVESCO FIELD. Apparently the Buffs and the Rams have decided to move their annual game back to their on-campus sites after 2010 and there is discussion going on about bringing in Wyoming and Nebraska. If Cornhusker fans were able to turn Notre Dame stadium into a Red Sea, imagine the possibilities in Denver. Here's the link. Wyoming vs Nebraska. Thoughts?

THE BEST GAME EVER THAT I ATTENDED
Without a doubt...Friday, August 29th, 1986. The Detroit Tigers came to the Big "A" to play the Angels in a week-end series. I was sitting up there in Angel Heaven...probably two or three rows from the top of the stadium on the first base side right behind about 100 Tigers' fans. McCaskill started but didn't make it out of the 4th. The Tigers were steam-rolling along and as the innings wore on, the Angels faithful started to leave and the Tigers' fans were in full song. I stuck it out to the bitter end....and I'm glad I did.
It's 12-5 going into the bottom half of the 9th. Dick Schofield leads off with a single. Burleson, Joyner, Downing all follow. Jack Howell drives in two with a double and the Tigers go to the pen. They bring in Senor Smoke, Willie Hernandez. He doesn't fair much better. Before long, it's a 12-9 game. The bases are loaded and up comes the guy that started the inning, Dickie Schofield. On an 0-2 pitch, he hits a bomb down the left field line that soars into the seats on the fair side of the pole. Game over. 13-12 Halos with an 8-run 9th! What a night!
The next night, Doug DeCinces wins it with a two-run shot in the 9th and they complete the sweep on Sunday with a bases-clearing double by Rupert Jones in the bottom of the 8th. Loved that Angels Miracle Magic in '86!
