No Respect for the Chargers... Still
I was just looking at some of the NFL playoff coverage on ESPN, and they had a couple links featuring Scout inc.'s rankings of the offenses and the defense of all the playoff teams.
First I looked at the defensive rankings. I expected the Chargers defense to be ranked low, just because their style is unflashy and seems to do just enough to slow down teams instead of really beating down offenses. The way that they broke down each team was by giving rankings for different categories. I was not extremely surprised to see the Chargers defense ranked last of the 12 playoff teams. The biggest surprise to me though was that they ranked the Chargers 9th in coaching out of the playoff teams. That's some serious disrespect to the coach of the year.
I then checked their offensive rankings, expecting the Chargers to be ranked mugh higher. By all accounts the Chargers have a premier offense, often times being able to move down the field at will. Apparently Scout.inc disagrees though as they ranked as having the dead last offense of all the 12 playoff teams as well. At QB we were ranked 4th, behind the media darlings Manning, Brady, and Brees. Our receiving core (which includes TEs) was ranked only 5th, and our special teams was ranked 9th. Once again, the coaching was ranked in 9th place.
So, according Scouts Inc. The Chargers are the worst overall team in the playoffs on both sides of the ball. I think this is a pretty serious sign of disrepect to a team that has a legitimate shot at the superbowl this year. I really hope that the players see it, but giving them any kind of extra motivation like this can't be a good thing for whoever they are playing against.

Padres Fan Here
Not trolling or anything...I'm just curious to hear what people are saying on the Boston side of things.
Everybody has obviously been hearing a ton about Adrian Gonzalez going to the Red Sox recently, and I have been trying to do my research to figure out what kind of trade could actually have a chance at working for both sides. With Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod going from the Red Sox to the Padres it adds a very interesting aspect to these trade negotiations, and I think it makes Hoyer extra-weary of making sure he gets a deal that nobody in San Diego will question. Any Adrian Gonzalez trade will likely help many in San Diego to form their opinions of him. Personally I was a huge Kevin Towers fan, but am optimistic about Jed. I had a good time reading the comments on mlbtradrerumors.com concerning potential Adrian to Boston trades, and I figured there could be some more knowledgeable fans here who had slightly cooler heads.
