The Season: Ole Miss Baseball

Wow. Our media department has done it again. I'd put them against anybody in the nation.

No more "Touching me . . . Touching you" at Penn State

Totally unrelated to Ole Miss and likely inappropriate, but I found it a bit humorous. While PSU is lying about why they nixed Sweet Caroline at football games, it's probably best for the University.

There has been a shooting one block from campus of Texas A&M

This doesn't look good. Multiple officers shot. Unsure if this is university related, but prayers to our new SEC brethren, all the same.

It's Official: Teams Have No Duty to Protect Fans From Trent Rothlin

This morning, while perusing today's North Carolina Court of Appeals Opinions (ah...the life of an asshole), I noticed a new opinion regarding negligence on behalf of baseball leagues, teams,...

Aaron Fitt's Omaha 2013 List

Notice that all 3 "big" Mississippi schools made his top 24 choices for Omaha. Interestingly, he's obviously a student of history, as he has Ole Miss losing in a super regional.

Rebs up 1 spot to #16

Somehow, after being blown-out by Southern Miss and dropping a weekend game in classic WAOM fashion against the worst team in the SEC, the Rebs gained one position in the Baseball America poll this week.

Rebel Baseball Moves Up to # 12

Also notice that 7 SEC teams are still ranked, with the lowest ranked squad, Mississippi State, being ranked 21st. This week should be a good barometer for our legitimacy or lack thereof. Although Louisville fell out of Baseball America's rankings this week, they are a solid squad at the other end of a long road trip, against which we will play 2 games at odd baseball hours, during spring break... [HT: to SSMUND who beat Button to it.]

Nix Shows Why He Was Retained; Secures Mathers.

We all knew he decommitted and then recommitted, but what we didn't know is that Derrick Nix took the film room into I'Tavius Mathers' living room to secure his commitment. Fine recruiting by Nix.

Grindin' fo' my State: new rap beat

It's the newest piece of media produced by Lord Mullen's followers. I admit it, it's a little catchy. It's also dumb as fuck. It sounds a little like a rap song written by a farmer or something.

Pat Summitt diagnosed with dementia

Nobody 'round these parts cares for women's basketball, but Tennessee's Pat Summitt is a legend. Unfortunately, she has also been diagnosed with early onset dementia.

Cozart call-up?

Check it. Call-up looming? He sat today in Louisville. Renteria sucks. May happen tomorrow.

Matt Snyder shatters cheekbone. Done for summer.

This is old news, but I was completely unaware of it. Snyder was hit in the face during a summer ball game last week, landing him in the hospital. This ended his 2011 baseball season. Here's to hoping to a speedy recovery to Ole Miss...though I'm not too confident he'll be back.

Lance Lynn gets first MLB win

The big guy pitched pretty well to earn his first big-league win with the Cards.
